This is one of the more unique railway museums Ive had the pleasure of going to. Small and somewhat easy to miss, this museum is full of local history. All of the conductors and volunteers here were very friendly and informative on the local history of the line, as well as several other interurban lines in the Chicago area. They even have a short ride on an electric coach that offers scenic views of the Fox River and a couple bridges in the area. If you have any interest in what transportation was like before the advent of the automobile, I highly recommend paying a visit to this place. It is a small museum and the entirety can be visited in about an hour. Admission and parking are free, and ride tickets are $5. I wouldnt recommend riding more than once, but nonetheless, a must visit place for anyone with any interest in either local history of the area, or interurban transportation in general.

Terror trolley Theydosecialevents on some major holidays which are generally fun. Or Our kidswerescaredtogitotheterror trolley but were laughing when they left. My daughter called it lame and wanted tigetourmoneyback. The story teller tried really hard to tell scary stories but was really a lame duck and should fave been cooked. Wewalkedinthedark woods which could have been really scary but most came out laughing or wanted their Money back. The alleged monsters sounded like drunk teenagers and made most people mad or laugh. I hope if they do a terror trolley again it will actually be scary and get a better story teller. They should hire the ww2 actors and shoot zombies or something. And oleasegetsomequality cookies for the polar express, otherwise I really like the place.

We found this place by mistake, when we were cruising down Route 31. Overall I am really glad that I turned around. For $4 I had a chance to ride a vintage trolley through some beautiful sceneries near the Fox River. If you are in the area, definitely stop and check it out!!!

Its a pleasant and inexpensive experience for kids and train buffs. All volunteers, with all that means for service. Dont trust their web site for times open. Muddy parking lot.

Fun place for children, not very big, but theres a park with a play ground nearby. Also had a nice feature with being able to ride a train during some summer weekends

It had real trains that are older that you can go inside and check out. You can also pay for a train ride that lasts about 25 minutes.

You need to update your Google information. Drove all the way from Kankakee County to find you were closed.
