What an amazing find. The museum offers a rare glimpse into a creative mind. It is open and inviting, well kept and enjoyable. The museum focuses on Walter Anderson but also features a few other local artists of note as well as Shearwater pottery. We went with our toddler who was well behaved enough that we didnt have to yell Dont touch that every 10 seconds but that was on a good day, otherwise I think it is appropriate for ages 5+ if they appreciate the murals and art.

I have visited the Museum over the years, and I am never disappointed. I even visited it back before the house he painted in was attached to the museum in Ocean Springs. Most of Walter Andersons work is amazing. I never tire of looking at it. I even have a few prints in my home. What an interesting person he was, and a wonderful artist. Youll never regret the time spent at this Museum.

The WAMA is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. The history and art of Walter and his brothers are truly pieces of pure imagination and beauty. Make sure to check out the actual boat Walter Anderson used to sail out to the islands!
