cons 1. pro shop / concessions very old and outdated 2. hornets nest in many bunkers; wasps are very aggressive; it costs $3.00 to buy a can of spray and kill them; they are EVERYWHERE which makes it horrible to play; I will play at Willow Pond instead since their course is hornet free 3. gas carts stink (should invest in electric) 4. $4.00 for a Corona? (2017) 5. lawn-mower for the greens leaves clumps of grass on the greens...everywhere...grounds crews dont GAF! 6. blue course bunkers are rock hard and quite frankly a joke...not bunkers but rock hard mud traps 7. greens fees are too expensive for what you get 8. why do they always seem to be out of Corona? "the truck comes in tomorrow" 9. range ball machine is supposed to accept credit cards, but it always seems to be broken (go to Stone Creek for awesome range at same price) pros 1. updated bathroom 2. staff are nice 3. blue course is good for any skill level 4. course is not busy / backed up 5. awesome hot dogs!

Absolutely the best public golfing experience per dollar in the area. The practice area is unparalleled. The professional can help improve your game with one lesson and the investment in both courses including bunkering, irrigation and new carts is in the hundreds of thousands just this year. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and learn your name quickly. If you are looking for a quick nine or want to invest in a pass and a home away from home the University if illinois Golf Course is the place for you.

Orange course is a great test of golf. Greens are small and demands sharp iron play. Blue is very playable for all skill levels. Affordable fees and twilight starts at 2 everyday.
