I took my Grandsons here for their first fishing experience. The DeKalb county Forest Preserve website says this is a great place for fishing with two ponds and the Kishwaukee River. Forget the ponds. At this visit in June of 2016, they were completely covered with Duckweed and looking poorly. We did find a spot on the Kish River. The grandsons had fun. Be aware that the "grass trail" shown on the latest F.P. trail map along the Kishwaukee River is mostly washed away. There are picnic tables, a hand powered water pump and a shelter in this preserve. A strong negative is the very limited parking. It is a gravel area right off of Baseline Road at the entrance. Eight cars and it is full.

Small parking area but preserve is not usually well attended so it is more than enough. Walkpaths are good for a walk or jog. Scenic underneath the wooded canopy. Definitely a place for some solitude

Great meandering paths! Beware of mosquitos in the warmer months!
