Great aambience and safe. There are restrooms available, grassy areas to lay down a blanket and relax, many trees and flowers, small and big kids play areas, gazebos, benches overall a great place for kids. There are people here from all over the world. There is also a train that passes by the park and the kids run to the fence to see it pass by. Also an ice cream truck drop by every now and then and a friendly police officer that allows the kiddos the get inside his patrol car to ring the siren and get pictures, he also hands out a Norcross Police badge stickers for them. Really awesome park.

The park isnt the biggest in the area, but it still has plenty of area and equipment for a good number of kids to play at the same time. Be aware that there are train tracks very near the park and trains run by regularly, including blasting their horns. This can scare some kids. If your kid is like mine and loves trains this is a great park to go to. The main play area could use some additional shade, though the pavilion and edges of the play area do provide great relief from the sun.

I am 79 years old and only recently learned that John J. Thrasher was my great-great uncle. It was a thrill to visit this beautiful little park which he established many years back. I am thankful to the citizens of Norcross for preserving and caring for this park. It is a lovely place where families and children can relax and play. Jenelda Thrasher Merrick Acworth, Ga.

I love the whole Old Norcross area! It is so peaceful and family oriented that you almost feel like you are in a small town right in the middle of Atlanta! The parks are clean and very well maintained everything from the landscaping to the janitorial services! Definitely a must visit!

Fantastic park for the whole family :) An absolutely wonderful playground for kids of all ages and a great big lawn to enjoy a picnic! Also it is right across the street from the shops and restaurants in downtown Norcross!! An awesome way to spend an afternoon with the family...

This park has an open space, is kept clean and maintained. The train runs right past it, which is definitely a plus for young children. Parking is somewhat limited. Its possible that additional parking is allowed at the nearby businesses, but Im not totally sure.

This is right around the corner from my job, so its a nice place to relax on a lunch break. Also they have the farmers market out here in the summer months, and you can find lots of good things. Overall its a great little anchor to the Historic Norcross area.

I absolutely LOVE downtown historic Norcross. We lived near by for 3 years and visit from time to time because our twins love it so much. They grew up there. Thrasher Park or "the red park" as they call it, is their favorite.

This is a wonderful park with tons of stuff for kids if all ages. Even better is when you hear the train in the distance, you can take the kids over to the fence and watch the train pass by up close and they love it.
