Honey creek country club has become a home away from home to me and my family! Ive been coming to honey for a few years now as a guest of one of there members! As of recently the golf course and the country club have come under new ownership and I can honestly speak for myself and all the members and golfers when I say we couldnt be happier! In the short time they taken over the the course & country club I have been amazed at the changes they had already put into place! To quickly understand honey creek golf and country club have been in operation for 30 years now and amazingly still has several of its founding members that still apart of the family at honey creek! That being said, When the current owners came in recently they were greeted with a lot of issues and years of neglect not only with the golf course itself but the facilitys as well! They have already jumped in with both feet in tackling the multiple issues that were there with the golf course and have no plans of stopping there that goes for the facility ad well! Honey creeks staff is some of the kindest people you could meet and have always treated me & family like family every time Im there! They have also recently brought on a new chef who does an amazing job at preparing a great dinner down to an afternoon Sunday brunch! There bartenders as well will always greet you by name and will talk with you as if youve known them for years! The best part about honey creek now more then ever is that when you come in your treated like family! Not only from the staff but even the members and yes the owners! I couldnt begin to tell how many times I come in to eat and the owners will pull up a chair and sit down just to talk with you! Not because they have to but because they want to they think of you as family and Ive have had some of best conversations with them! They often share there Hearts and there goals and what they look to achieve with honey creek and they have and are working very hard to make that happen day after day and make honey creek a truly great place to enjoy some golf or to stop by just eat or have a cold beer! Honey creeks owners love what they do and have put countless hours and hard work into making this place great again and are so proud of this great course and country club and and I know they look forward to making it better & better to all who visit So I implore I know Im just another review , I know everyone is entitled to there own thoughts and opinions! But I just ask you to let Honeycreek speak for itself and stop by one day for a round of Golf or maybe stop in to grab something to eat and take a chance to meet the staff and see what a great change is being made here and get to know the honey creek family and I promise you want be disappointed

Dont waste your time or money. It is a very closed-community golf course where outsiders stand out and are recognized as such/treated unfairly. I played with my best friend on a Sunday morning. When we teed off, nobody was in front of us (that we could see) and there was at least one foursome in the tee box before we finished the hole. Nobody was ever on the same hole as us again, and usually halfway through the hole before that. Meanwhile, we caught up to the pair in front of us. Halfway through the 7th hole, the marshal approached us (after sitting in the middle of the fairway and causing us to wait before teeing off) and told us we were going to need to increase our rate of play. The foursome wasnt even on the hole behind us at that point in time and the pairing in front of us had just finished the hole. Long story short, without really changing our rate of play, we finished the front 9 in an hour and 20 minutes (finished 18 holes in under four hours because the group in front of us slowed us down immensely and didnt allow us to play through). We were clearly creating a log jam with our slow rate of play. This completely unnecessary harassment is the reason why I will never golf there again and advise others to do the same. There are too many other golf courses where you wont be treated with disrespect, to waste your time at this one.

We walked and and was not greeted very pleasantly. We just wanted to see the banquet hall for a church event. The lady that greeted us told us she only had 10 mins we said thats fine we just wanted to see it. She showed us the place and reiterated that we are not allowed to use their kitchen to warm food. Which was fine we understand no out side food. However she just didnt have a hospitable attitude. I told my mom not to bother and get the paper work because she quickly walked off as my mom asked her a question. Maybe she didnt hear but I know she heard her speaking. She went to her office and said she didnt have anymore I thought it was sign I told my mom not to waste time but she waited for the lady to print the paper work. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We we were weary because we seen the review from years ago but I must say its the same thing. The lady matched the reviews and the furniture that we seen aged and mean. They are not hospitable please do not use.them.

My wife and i returned to the area in 2013 after living in another state for 12 years and i decided to join Honey Creek because some of the members that were there when i left are still there. To my surprise the course had been let go in all respects. Fortunately the new owners took over and immediately started making changes to improve things. We have seen significant improvement in the condition in the course ranging from massive tree cutting and brush removal to renovation of the greens and clubhouse to correct issues that had been ignored. I, along with many of the members believe the ownership is going to bring this course back. I invite anybody to come out and see the differences that have already been made. Ralph Trickler

The Restaurant is nice - great burgers, fries and beers. However: The course is horrible - the greens are brown and smell like dirty sweat socks, the fairways are mostly dirt with a little dead grass Dont cross the owner or you will get your head ripped off. Overall the worst golf experience of my life. If you want to golf in the Rockdale/Newton area go to The Oaks or Cherokee Run

Our group walks 9 holes almost every Monday evening during the summer. AKA, Monday 9ers. We are very pleased with the progress of the course over the last few years. Very enjoyable and look forward to playing as often as we can. Great job by the new ownership. Dedicated to making it work. Thanks for your efforts.

Theyve really done an amazing job on bringing this place back to its greatness. i cant wait to see what its going to look like this spring! one of my favorite local spots to play. Look on their website for hourly specials everyday because they have a lot better deals then golfnow.
