Im a wine Lova. Finding new ones, going to events, learning about the techniques and culture and visiting as many wineries and regions as I can in this life. If you blind-folded me and took me to Yonah Mountain Vineyards, Id bet all my dollars we were anywhere but GA. And Id be a broke fool right now. Yonah is SPEC-TAC-U-LAR! Finally! Georgia has made it to the party and they brought a kick-ass portfolio with them. This brand-new tasting facility opened back in March and is a beautiful, octagon-shaped building made with a lot of old wood, marble and stone. As soon as you walk in you are looking up and around, taking in the natural light and the warmth the space exudes. The Yonah Mountain is in the backdrop so you are in for some awesome views whatever time of year you go. They offer cave tours and tastings at their facility and host events throughout the year as well. We went for the "Harvest" event in early September - vendors, wine and grape-stomping, oh my! They will have an event facility added on by the beginning of next year. Yonah is Cherokee for bear which I did not know. Put this on your list for day trips from Atlanta. I dont think youd be disappointed. Even if you just go for a glass and a good view. It took us approximately 1 hr and 20 mins leaving from the Sandy Springs area. I could go on and on about Yonah but Ill let you check for yourself.

My husband and I stumbled upon this vineyard on Scout Mob last year. We purchased the wine tasting and cave tour and just fell in love with this amazing place, the staff and the beautiful location. We have brought up family and my boss and his wife and everyone has had a wonderful time. And we cannot wait to participate in Crush Fest! We finally were able to sign up for the wine and food pairing this past weekend (7/10) and it was phenomenal. You could not have asked for a more intimate and better experience with the owners, Bob and Jane, John, their awesome marketing director, and even Joe, their winemaker. Being able to enjoy wine and some food with them made this experience even better for us! Everyone here at Yonah Mountain Vineyard is top notch and go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying your experience. You literally feel like family! We learned that Yonahs winemaker, Joe has a small winery around the corner from Yonah Mountain Vineyard and we are excited to go there next time and visit before we find ourselves back at Yonah Mountain Vineyard. Thank you!

A friend and I went there as a spur of the moment choice since we were up in some cabins nearby and what an excellent choice it was!! We assumed it would be your typical low keyed wine tour/tasting, but we were so wrong! The tour was headed by Bob Miller, the owner, and he was filled with excitement and personality. Not only is his personality big, but the winery is large as well. And beautiful! The architectural details of the design on the main building and "The Cave" are amazing!!! We learned about the history and growing of the vineyards and why Yonah is often "the only winery in Georgia"! The tasting itself started with a taste of a coupe of grapes and included 3 wines during the tour and 6 wines while sitting in the back patio which was very relaxing and comfortable. There is live music and food to go along with the tasting. And the wines were delicious!! The taste included several whites, the Chardonnay being my favorite, several reds and a desert wine. All excellent wines! I highly recommend Yonah Mountain Vineyards!

Well I need to start off by saying that this place is absolutely beautiful...stunning scenery, however the attitudes of the employees could definitely use some work. We were on vacation and just touring some of the local wineries when we stumbled upon Yonah Mountain Vineyards...maybe we were not dressed appropriately for the establishment (shorts, t-shirt, flip flops) , but like I said we were on VACATION and just touring the local wineries. When we walked in we didnt even get acknowledged. Not a "hey, how are you?" OR even a "we will be with you in a minute." Nothing. We stood there a good 15 minutes and were totally ignored. I was extremely disappointed. Some people need to learn that it should not matter what one wears...sometimes the richest people look like the dont have a dime and the richest looking dont have 2 dime to rub together. I wish I could say that I will give them another chance to try to impress me, but I am afraid that I will not be returning to this winery/vineyard.

Five-star scenery, good wines (not great), and mediocre service. The perfect location with rolling hills and unobstructed views of one of Georgias tallest mountains, plus a Napa-like tasting room with live music and a wrap-around patio, make the experience and atmosphere one-of-a-kind. The wines were good, though all varieties were a bit salty - dont know if it was sodium chloride in the wine, soil salinity during growth and harvest? The staff is very knowledgeable, but because this place is so popular, the staff is constantly running around erratically to serve the heavy volume of customers. At points, my boyfriend and I were unsure if we were supposed to lead our own tasting because of the inconsistency of staff attention. Probably frustrating for them, and discouraging for our experience. The price, at $22 for eight small tastings (plus souvenir glass), is a little high for the area. Its not Napa! Regardless, it is beautiful and worth a visit! We will give it another shot soon.

From the first day my wife and I walked in, we knew this place was definitely for us. No matter how were dressed, no matter how much or little we spend, each and every staff member is OTT (Over The Top) friendly and attentive. That brings me to the subject of the owner, Bob Miller. Definitely the most personable winery owner in north Georgia. Talented, funny, and spares no expense. His wife and son are also wonderful people who really care about what theyre doing. Its too bad some folks felt like they werent greeted fast enough, so dont let those reviews put you off. This is definitely the premier wine destination in the region. I really cant say enough about them, and dont get me started on their wine maker! Joe really stands shoulder to shoulder with the best that California has to offer. This is a classy joint, no two ways about it! Splurge and try the Ice Wine and Totem! You will not be sorry. -Matthew & Gretchen Anthony Gold Level Members

Visit: July 5, 2017 Absolutely TOP NOTCH Winery!!! ^_^ My Daughter and I, "stumbled" across this gem of a place, by way of a map search, on my smartphone....We had been to another winery, not too far from this one, on several occasions, but we were looking for something new. From the moment we drove through the gate, we were blown away by the beautiful setting, and then we walked inside the building, and were awestruck!! Every detail of Yonah Mountain Vineyards, has obviously been crafted and maintained with loving care. From the lovely young lady (Jordan) who poured our wine, to the owner Bob, who came over and introduced himself and chatted with us, the elegant, yet relaxed charm of YMV, is evident. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THIS PLACE!!! ^_^ We will be back....AGAIN, AND AGAIN!! ;-) ^_^ <3 <3
