Bought tickets for Snarky Puppy with a show time of 8 p.m. Got there at 7:30 expecting to go inside, be welcomed, sit down, have something to drink. That did not happen. There was a large crowd of over 100 people outdoors, and we were made to stand there for over two hours in heat and humidity. It was brutal. Many people were in pain from standing so long; not everyone there was a teenager or twentysomething. At some point a rude blonde woman came out and made the entire crowd move to one side of the door. Cattle herding, anyone? Sound check didnt start until 8:30. Why advertise for 8 p.m. then make people wait two hours in line and two and a half for the headline act? The place is a dump, as well. The bartenders didnt do much business; would have been SMART business-wise to allow paying ticketholders in to cool off and have a drink, and let the bartenders earn some tips, but no. No rhyme or reason to this place; would NEVER go there again, not even for Snarky Puppy, who should book a professional venue next time, not a dog and pony show like this dive. Terrible experience.

Had the pleasure of going to the Crowbar, in Ybor City tonight 1/31/2014 for Round 1 of the Battle of the Bands. Had never been there before. I was surprised that it was a big inside as it is and really a good club setting. Good stage large enough for band members to move around, sound wasnt as good as I thought it could be but they had good equipment may have been just because there were so many bands & changes in one night a lot to do. Lots of room to dance & still room to sit & listen. They could do with some better seating and a little more of it. I do hate it when tables arent stable & rock almost as much as the band! (ita an easy fix should be done) over all a good club I think they should have had more people for such a good place. Bands were all good. I think when there is one band for the evening it would be great. What ever happened to a good house band?

Pretty fun place to watch live music! Its definitely not the nicest bar (remember, youre in Ybor), but it is pretty spacious and theres an outdoor patio. There are a lot of groups that come here to perform, from national rock bands to local rappers. There are two bars: one inside and one outside. The people there are very friendly and there are often a lot of local artists displaying their work in addition to the music playing. Ive been here to hang out with friends, but theres always a music group playing. But for an average night? I dont think Crowbar is a bad decision. I love the patio and I like the atmosphere. Its a classic Ybor pit stop. Id definitely recommend it to someone who likes live music in a grungy atmosphere.

I happen to like the Crow Bar! They have some bands that are not my favorite but it depends what night you go I guess. One night was Rap, and that was weird, but another time I went it was Ska and that was pretty cool. The cover can be a little steep but overall I will say I would come back. If you get tired of the music they have a courtyard to kick back in. Definitely worth walking by and seeing what acts they have going on. The service for me was always very good but I tip so maybe they appreciate that from the customers more. The bar keep was friendly! I dont know where people are coming from with all the bad vibes but I thought it was a cool place. Recommended.

This space is small, but it is nice for small shows. Makes it more exciting when you go to a punk or ska show and everyones all crammed in. It somehow makes the music better. They have an outdoor area for smokers, which is nice since it is a bar. I would go back to see another show. My husband proposed to me here. He asked me on stage during a show.

Typical dive bar, strength is the live local acts and the special event nights. Hit up a creative mixer or the goth/industrial/80s night they do once a month (first Wednesday?). They also have a kind of open mic, but its curated beforehand, so you see selected locals perform, free, and can grab a drink and hangout on a slow evening.

Hole-in-the-wall of a venue with generic dive-bar drink selection. Worth visiting to see a show, but not much to offer otherwise. There is a fairly large outdoor courtyard area, but its mostly standing area with only a handful of plastic tables & chairs.

The crowbar kinda sucks if you are going there to see a show. They push back the bands until midnight so that they get more money from the bar purchases. Which is fine if you intended to have three hours of drinking before your show. ugh

This is a hole-in-wall kinda place with plenty of character. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the drinks were reasonably priced. The sound man is a master of his craft; the sound quality was amazing!

Of the multiple spots Ive paid to see shows in Ybor, this is my favorite. Great indoor and outdoor areas, with multiple bars, that have Had friendly tenders from my experiences. "Force of the Shotgun!"

Always have a great time at shows here. Of course it can get crowded and be hard to get a drink but its a bar! The bartenders have always been very friendly. No complaints personally.

We go nearly every Tuesday for $5 Liter night. Sometimes they have live shows and theres usually not a cover charge. Outside patio is big and fenced in. Great "dive bar" atmosphere.

Kind of a dirty place. Drinks were a little too pricey considering where you were, but I guess if its Ybor its acceptable. Floors were sticky, even though it wasnt busy that night.

Awesome place to see a show. Bartenders are attentive and with it. Womens restrooms are clean although one sink needs some faucet handles and the hand dryers need service.

One of the staple venues of Tampa open almost every night with live music from bands and DJs of every genre. Full liquor and good beer selection.

They do hold some great shows here. Other than that, it is a pretty typical bar in most respects.
