The worst golf experience I have had in a long time. I gave it "one star" because I was forced to or I could not post a review at all. My experience was below one star. The course is in very, very poor condition.. the fairways were like a "cow pasture".. long strands of grass everywhere and the greens were terrible. I had a hard time telling the difference between the fairway and the rough. In fact, the rough looked better! I even asked the pro-shop person, "hey, hows the course playing?" His response: "good, no complaints." So, needless to say, none of this was explained to me prior to playing. So, I played one hole and teed off on the 2nd hole. I put in in the middle left of the fairway and could not find my ball. So, I went back to the clubhouse and asked for a refund, but the kid in the pro shop was not able to give me one because he did not know how. Then he offered me a "rain check"... I said to him.. " are you kidding, I just told you the course was in terrible condition and only played one hole and you think Im going go come back and play again!" So, he suggested I call back the next day to speak to a manager. He gave me a name, "Andrew". I called Andrew, but he was not able to come to the phone. So, I left my information and received a call back but was unable to take the call. Well, 5 phone calls from me to Andrew later, I have still not received a phone call back. On the 6th try to reach Andrew or Chris, I spoke to some idiot in the pro shop who suggested I "email" Andrew and he gave me an email address. Here I am, a customer and local golfer who plays golf once or twice a week and has called 5 previous times, and he gives me an email address rather then take my name and promise to give it to Andrew so he will call me back. Instead, he throws the ball back in my court to continue to try and get in touch with the only guy that can authorized or knows how to give a refund to a customer! I am astounded at how companies will gladly take your money, and are happy to do so, but when it comes to giving a refund they avoid you like you have a disease and make you, "the customer", work for the refund....in the hope that you will "go away" and stop asking. Well, in this case, it worked! Because it will be the last $25 this course will ever see from this customer!!! I cant believe a golf course like this, or any business, is so short sighted and absolutely stupid in their approach to customer service! One failed return phone call to refund $25 earned them one of the best "detractors" in their local market, because I cant wait to vigorously tell everyone I know, all my neighbors, friends, relatives, associates, casual encounters at the mall, barbershop, pet store, local restaurant, etc, etc.. what a crappy, horrible, experience I had at this local golf course. I will be this golf courses worst ex-customer, and as an avid golfer in the community, I speak to a lot of other golfers, and will tell everyone I know for the next 20 years what a terrible experience I had at this course. Believe me, the $25 you stole from me is well spent in poor PR for your golf course. Hopefully, this course will end up like Windermere Country Club, a baron wasteland of a course that the developer shut down due to poor support from the local HOA. Andrew, I suggest you drive by Windermere CC some day, take a good look at the course, because that is what your course will look like soon. In fact, it almost does look like that now! And your course is still "stealing money from the local market. You should release a herd of cows on the property...at least it would look like what it really is.... a "cow pasture"! I am sure the cows could keep it in better shape then your ground crew. Great job Andrew! I hope you find another gig soon, because you will not be around long if you continue on this path of poor customer service.....

My new wife and I have recently had the most incredible, beautiful, and worry free ceremony and reception at this country club. The outside pergola with fountain back drop, the luxurious ballroom with gorgeous chandeliers, and most importantly the incredible staff made this the best night of our lives. I cannot say enough good things about the Event Coordinator, Dana, which made the whole process as stress free for my bride to be as possible. Between the suggestions for decorations, food set up, mashed potato bar, and the last minute requests we gave her she was able to accommodate everything to our liking. She gave no argument to letting us extend our reception. Dana even organized a golf cart train to make sure our photographers took the best shots of us at the most beautiful places around the course. The food was exquisite by the Executive Chef, Peter, and a better value than any other location we looked at. The filet mignon carving station and fire and ice cream station had our guests believing we spent $40k more than we actually did. The wait staff was attentive to all of our guests needs and everybody took the same care and passion to make sure we had the most amazing evening.

I must say as a resident of Stoneybrook West I am very impressed with the course conditions. I have lived here for 6 years and have watched the course go to the dumps over the past few years, but over the past 4 months and what I heard was new ownership the place has took a turn for the better. It looks like the mowing guys are out there all the time and have new mowers, and in a few months I cannot believe how much the course has improved in just a few months which is a sigh of relief for us homeowners. After going in the pro shop they have all new merchandise and it is the fullest I have seen the pro shop in a long time. And they even have a new staff that is beyond friendly. The food is good as always, they have an awesome golf and lunch special that was offered to me that was only a few dollars more than regular golf. I have nothing but great things to say, glad to say I can fully support the golf course in my community.

Im part of a group of 16 Ohioans who make an annual trip to golf Orlando-area courses late February/ early March. Stoneybrook West has been in our rotation for a few years now because it has a good layout and is normally well maintained. This year, however, may be our last year playing Stoneybrook as the course conditions were sub standard...to put it mildly. Many fairways were in bad shape (bare spots, weeds), bunkers were almos unplayable, the greens were shaggy and the tee boxes looked like rough (grass shouldnt cover the bottom of the ball when placed on a long tee). Im not sure of the situation (new ownership?) but I hope they turn this around since this could be a really nice course to play.
