For the last few months I had been thinking about a unique birthday present for someone I love. After doing research for weeks, I decided skydiving was the perfect gift. None of us had done it before, which made everything much more exciting. After looking into different options, Skydive Space Center caught my eye, specially since they offer Floridas highest jump (18,000 feet). I have to say their customer service was FANTASTIC. I called them around 9 pm to reserve our spot for the date I wanted and honestly I thought no one would answer the phone that late but I was wrong. They immediately sent me an e-mail confirmation and info about what to expect and what to bring. On the day of the jump, we had to be at their facility at 9 am. We got stuck in traffic and rain and we called to say wed get there almost an hour late but they were super nice about it! Finally we got there, we filled out or paperwork, waited for the weather to clear up and this is when everything got even more exciting and real. We got assigned our trainers, I felt a little disappointed because everyone seemed to be given instructions on what to do but my trainer just came out briefly to say hi and later disappeared. He seemed he wasnt quite prepared and so I had to stick to my brother and try to hear what his trainer (Bruno) was telling him. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Bruno, he gave me a lot of info my trainer hadnt given me and was the perfect person to take my brother on his first jump. We were completely amazed on how his personality made us feel so comfortable and ready to jump. His attitude was amazing! The way he is so easy to get along felt like we had known him for years, and honestly I think this bond and atmosphere that he creates is priceless. He definitely made us crack up with the video he took for my brother, and I am super thankful because he made this experience unforgettable for both! After getting ready we waited not even 5 minutes and we were told to get in the plane. We went up pretty quickly and when we got to 18,000 feet I was the first one to jump and I will never forget everything my eyes saw and I felt his day. I have to say even though me and my trainer didnt really bond like my brother and Bruno, he did a good job. I felt like for my trainer it was "just a job" while on the other side you can tell Bruno loves what he does. Anyway, it was AMAZING. I wish I couldve stayed up there for hours. Everything went completely fine, I felt safe at all times, and we enjoyed every second of it. My brother was lucky that Bruno took him through a cloud and now he wont stop talking about how awesome it was that he actually showed him the inside of a cloud. He will never forget that experience! Skydiving was something out of this world and we will always come back to Skydive Space Center for more. We loved it so much we are thinking about taking their AFF program that Bruno encouraged us to ask about so we can jump by ourselves in the future! Its super cheap for 7 levels! Thank you so much Skydive Space Center for changing my perspective about life and showing me that it is possible to fly! Im truly in love with the sky! Cant wait to be back!!!! Thank you Bruno for being the best person to take my brother on his first jump, he will NEVER forget you!!! You are definitely an asset for this company! Keep it up!!

My mind is still reeling from my experience today at Skydive Space Center. I have known about this place for years and have always found a reason to put off doing my first tandem jump. Today was the day that I wasnt going to put off any longer. To say that I had a magnificent time is a bit of an understatement. You have a magnificent time going to see a professional sporting event or out with a great group of friends on the town. No this was pure exhilaration and adrenaline mixed together like none other. I knew that if I was going to take the leap it would be an all in enterprise and this place offers the 18,000 foot option. There was no doubt this was my only consideration. I will say that on arrival plan to see many other jumpers preparing for the ride of their lives signing and filling out paperwork. It seems a bit hectic and chaotic but they are just trying to get people through this process. I heard a couple people being asked if they wanted to purchase the higher jump or video package but not to any level of pressure. Trust me if I had purchased the 12,000 foot jump and realized later that for a few dollars more I could have had an epic free fall experience lasting longer I would have been disappointed that nobody had really showed me what I may be missing. Just take all that with a grain of salt. This place is a business and they make money just like any other business I know. I sure wouldnt want a cut rate operation when it comes to a skydive center. Ive never heard any of the amusement parks around the Orlando area ever apologize for charging insane prices and trying to get people to buy photo packages or meal plans. I was paired with Jeff for my jump and Nick for video. These guys were outstanding. Jeff was easy to talk to and put me at ease from the first moment. He was serious about what he was telling me but he did it in a way that made it calm and overall comfortable. He asked questions of me and took the time to listen and not make it feel like just another jump on another weekend. It feels like a blur from the moment I got suited up and then returned back to the hangar. But thanks to Nick I have an outstanding video and Jeffs go pro wrist strap rounding it out I will have this memory on demand anytime I want to see what I may have missed in the amazing free fall. I highly recommend Skydive Space Center. If you have never been around a drop zone you will find it to be an interesting community of individuals all working together to maximize life. Try to fit in. These people arent there to entertain you or give you a show. They are there to show you how to live life to the fullest and feel your blood race through your veins with a passion and zeal we dont get on a daily basis. Embrace it and have a blast. Soak in the atmosphere and strap in. Waiting for a ride to the top isnt waiting, it is only welcomed opportunity to immerse just a bit deeper into this community of thrill seekers and adventures who allow you to share an amazing time in their world. Thank you Jeff for the incredible jump and awesome memory.

Basically, if you are on a true budget and can only afford the $99 jump, make sure you give yourself the whole day at the skydive center because you may be there for quite a while before you jump. If youre willing to pay more for the 15,000 or 18,000 foot jump, its totally worth it and the instructors are great! Im happy with the experience and so glad we did it, but I wish we werent so pressured into upgrading and paying more for the higher jump. My friends and I were spring breakers and wanted to get the skydive experience on a budget, so we wanted to do the cheapest jump at 8,000 feet for 99 dollars. Needless to say, I do have to agree with the other reviews that they basically bully you into upgrading and paying more. When we were there, they only had one small plane (which anyone who jumps from 8,000 feet must ride up in) because their other small plane was being fixed. Also, because its a small plane, it only fits two sets of tandem jumpers (awkwardly) and takes 20-30 minutes to climb up to 8,000 feet. When we got there at 8:00 for our reservation, there were at least 15 other people there as well so we didnt end up actually jumping until 11:30. About 8 of the 15 people were originally signed up for the 8,000 foot jump, but they were talked into paying more for the 15,000 jump (which was $189 for student discount or groups of 5-9). Also, there was only one pilot there so they could only take one plane at a time. Basically, we would have had to wait dead last to jump at 8,000 feet. We would have to have waited even longer because only two people could go up in the small plane at a time and we had 5 people in our group. That being said, three of us chose to upgrade to the 15,000. It only took us 8 minutes to reach 15,000 feet in the plane and I have to admit it was pretty a pretty amazing experience. All of the skydive instructors and videographers were thoroughly entertaining and extremely friendly. The $100 I spent on my video and pictures was totally worth it and it was an amazing experience. My only real complaint is how they bully you into paying more. They literally put the people who wanted the cheapest jump in a separate room and made us listen to speeches from three other workers about how the 15,000 foot jump was better and only a "few bucks more". One woman who worked there even said "the 8,000 foot jump sucks and isnt worth it". Two of our friends jumped last at 8,000 feet and they still had an amazing and fun experience!
