PLEASE read this before considering going here, as I wish I read a review like mine before I did. We were vising FL from NJ and decided to go here for a nice "relaxing" day from the big parks, even though it was an hour drive. After we paid and got outside, not 20 minutes later (which included everyone using the restroom), it started raining, so we sought cover under one of the covered picnic areas. While waiting for the rain to stop, my 7 year old jumped up and started running and screaming. She had been stung on her head by a wasp! We quickly proceeded back inside. dinosaur world is an outdoor attraction, and they were woefully unprepared (but thats not all) for even the smallest of problems. They had NO ice for us to put on the wasp bite. They had NO procedure for someone getting injured. All they had was a $5 cheapo first aid kit with nothing helpful inside. Besides being unprepared for ANYTHING, they lacked any compassion as well. We stayed inside the building for a little bit until my child was calmed down a little. She refused to go back outside, but how could I blame her. She was freaked out because she had never been stung before, and now was not going back outside where the wasps still were. I know they say no refunds. I spoke to the manager, and asked if we could get a refund, or even a credit to spend in the gift shop. She told me no, and that she would give me a rain-check. I live 1,100 miles away from there and dont have plans to ever go back to that area. We were honestly there for not even 20 minutes, and am out $70 because of it, not to mention the hour drive back. We even returned the lucky strike ticket, the fossil dig ticket and the bag of fish food, as we werent there long enough to do anything. I own my own business as well, and know that there are always exceptions to the rule for extenuating circumstances. I am honestly disgusted at the lack of preparedness, and the way I was treated (not to mention how the manager yelled and disrespected the cashier who was trying to tell her something which I had mentioned) I would recommend that you never visit this place. Horrible experience. Unprepared staff. Managers that treat their staff like dirt. Again, I only wish I had read a review like mine, because I would have never went there.

The Good: The "Park" itself is a bit small, but its beautiful, and I know my nephew enjoyed it immensely. As others have said, its very informative. The dig site and gem "mine" (really just a water-run and sifting for gems) are both really cool for the kids. Overall, a very good outing and the staff was EXCELLENT. The Museum is too small to be called a museum. Its more like an exhibit, but definitely nice. The playground is very nice, and has lots of different dinosaur-themed jungle gym type things for the kids. There is not much more than about 2 hours worth of fun. Theres the dig site, gem mine, cave show, and trivia game. Each taking about about 15 minutes each. In between those, you can look at life-size statues of dinosaurs. That being said, I dont see a reason to stay much longer than about 2 hours at most parks anyway, so its not really much of a negative. Not to mention the fact that each of those exhibits were run very well and by very entertaining staff. Also, the gift shop is robust, and very well priced. The "Bad" I am a little annoyed that kids are free only on THE DAY of their birthday. My Nephews birthday fell on a Friday. The park is open from 9-5, he gets out of school at 2:30. We would have barely made it in time for him to experience the park at all. Very poor marketing strategy. I also dont see why the adult admission is so high considering the fact that theres nothing for adults. Wouldnt you want there to be MORE adults to supervise the children better? Just a thought. If youre expecting a "Jurassic Park" adventure, or a bunch of animatronics, youll be disappointed. Its just a nice, and quite beautiful area. Keep in mind, youre only spending $18.00 per kid. Compare that with a bowling alley, bounce house, etc.

I was almost hesitant to go to DW after planning it several months in advance for my sons birthday surprise. Well, Im glad I went because all three of my kids loved it! We did a fossil dig, uncovered fossils, walked around some beautiful greenery and enjoyed learning about Dinosaurs, not to mention the two cool play grounds. All the staff we saw were friendly, and I only really have one complaint. There are two fossil digs, one is an event where they get to keep fossils and the other is a more realistic one where it is in the actual park and you uncover a large fossil in the ground. The keepsake fossil dig was quite crowded (we went on a Saturday) and there was only one staff member there. I felt really bad for her because she has to see each kid twice, once to get the digging stuff and once to turn in the stuff and for her to identify the fossils. It was kinda hard to keep my almost two year old entertained long enough to turn in our supplies! Other then that, the kids really enjoyed it. Advice to anyone with youngsters, dont take them on carnivore bridge, we saw the signs but I thought the kids would be fine. I have a 6,4, and almost 2 yr old. The 6 yr old was not pleased with all the Dinos eating each other- even though she knew they were carnivores! So Id save that till your whee ones are a bit older when they think all that stuff is "cool" . To all the complaints of the heat.. umm.. its Florida! Also, if youre kids arent really into Dinos they are of course going to be bored. My kids all love Dinosaurs and loved this place! It was really worth the two hour drive.

After reading the reviews and hearing from a friend that it can be "boring", we came well prepared and with low expectations that were well exceeded. Our group consisted of myelf, my grandparents in their upper 70s, 3 tweens, & 2yr old. Grandparents Loved it, I loved it, 2 yr old is now fascinated with dinosaurs hence my intention to return. The tweens were hit and miss. They liked the fossil dig, gem mining, and the gift shop but did need a little redirecting here and there at the minor complaints of heat, mosquitoes. We all enjoyed the koi pond. I was really surprised and impressed by the variety of different species represented and how they are nestled in natural foliage. It made it fun to spot them all. Its a unique, interesting place to take a leisurely walk around and the place is full of photo ops! Mosquito protection and a cooler month will make a difference Im looking forward to. The big kids playground and all of the picnic tables are great however I found the tot lot lacking and they should put up some fans and/or a misting system in those picnic areas but we still had a nice lunch and a good time. The price IS a little high (we used coupons u can find all over) and I hate paying adult price for a 13yr old but for us thats ok bcuz the 2yr old is free. I know that when we do return probably in October it will be to get the annual pass so that it can be one of our regular play spots and the reciprocal agreement definitely adds value.
