In all my years of attending professional sporting events, I have never been as insulted as I was at todays game (July 30, 2017) vs. the Reds on Sunday Funday with my wife and two children (ages 9 and 11) by an usher who has no respect for not only Marlins fans, but children who are Marlins fans. We normally attend anywhere from 5-10 games a year (most recently before today was just two days ago). My two boys wear Marlins gear from head to toe at every game we attend. My oldest said to me that instead of running the bases after the game, he and his brother would rather watch the post game show and try to meet Jeff Conine and, maybe get an autograph since they are not allowed to get autographs before the game in the park unless they sit in the lower section. The ushers are very strict about ticket holders for those seats only going near the dugout area, which is understandable. So, after the game, we walk over to where the show is broadcast from to watch the show. As we were waiting, we took some pictures of the show while waiting to meet Jeff Conine and talked about how he earned the name "Mr. Marlin" as a few adult Reds fans also came over to possibly get an autograph. We were there for about 15 minutes or so when one older African American female usher with blond hair decided that we "had to go" now as there wouldnt be anyone to escort us out. So, I politely told her we were watching the show, there are still thousands of fans still in the park and hundreds of kids still running the bases on the field. Her response, "Well, I dont know how long he gonna be so yall need to go now. We clearin this section." As we proceeded to walk away, nothing was said to the Reds fans, who as my 2 boys saw, were able to get a ball signed during the commercial break as we had already started walking and were about 50 feet away from the show. I turned around with my 9 year old to ask the usher why we were being told to leave as I proceeded to where the cameraman was (he was very nice and said they were almost finished with the show). I told him that, unfortunately, we wouldnt be able to wait as they were closing the section, otherwise we would. As I told my 9 year old that we can try again next time we come, the usher mumbled, "Uh, uh. Ima get the police fo these people" as we proceeded once again to leave as the show was not completed and we could clearly see that she was not going to extend us (Marlins fans and two children with Marlins gear) the same courtesy she did with adult Reds fans. Meanwhile, there are still thousands of fans still in the park, going to the bathroom, taking pictures, talking, walking, etc., and kids still on the field running the bases, but my family necessitates getting the police informed that we had to exit the park at that exact moment. I have supported the Marlins from day one, not only by watching them on T.V., but by attending games, buying merchandise, etc., but I will no longer continue to spend my money where fans are clearly treated with such disdain that they cant wait to usher us out of the park while thousands of others are allowed to leave at their own leisure and enjoy a Sunday Funday without being harrassed by ushers who are paid to represent the organization. I didnt go to college, earn a degree, start a career, and raise children with values to be insulted by an usher on a power trip who thought it necessary for a family of four to leave the park on her time when thousands of others were still in the park. We were the paying customers and she felt it necessary to get the police (who incidentally just smiled and nodded at us) to get us out as quickly as possible. Not a Sunday Funday, in my opinion.

On September 8th 2016 I approached the box office located on the Marlins Ballpark site to ask a question regarding 6 tickets that I purchased on September 6th 2016. I was concerned with my purchase due to a special event called the Nicaraguan Heritage Night for September 9th that was not offered to me when purchasing my tickets. As this was the event I planned on enjoying with my family at the ballpark I went to the box office to confirm that my ticket would be accepted for the event. Unfortunately I was told that my tickets would not be accepted despite them being more expensiven than the actual event tickets. I asked for a solution to the my problem and the attendant wasnt not able to give me a solution nor explanation so she excused her self in order to seek guidance from her superior. When approaching the counter in order to address me, a woman who later identified her self as the "Director" began to shake her had and aggressively state that no refund or exchanges were able to be made. I unfortunately not doing my due diligence, bought the more expensive tickets seeing as the event is being held at the stadium during the game I opted for better seats. Madri, who is the woman that identified her self as the "Ditector" explained in very supercilious and degrading manner that this was not her concern and that I should have not bought the wrong ticket to the "Nicaragua emphasizing in a very demeaning and discriminating tone" heritage night event. I explained to her that I was not offered the tickets nor was it stated on their website that in order to participate in the event their needed to be any special tickets purchased. Having been a loyal patron to the Marlins Organization for over 15 years, Ive never encountered such a dissatisfaction in their customer service. The mannerism, body language, use of tone, and aggressiveness that Mardi showed was entirely unacceptable and uncalled for as director or anyone dealing with customers. In part the way she treated me during my visit was humiliating and condescending as she did this all in front of her employee which showed a terrible example on how to treat customers. At no time did she demonstrate compassion or sympathy towards my problem nor offering any solution, yet she proceeded to prosecute me for my mistake and expressing a strong loath for me and my situation. Having taken the time to write this negative review, its shows how worthless and disgusting this experience has made me feel. Being a patron that has been recognized on Military Mondays as veteran of these United States, a person with several degrees and also being a respectful and courteous person, there is absolutely no justification for this type of treatment to another person yet alone a customer.

Even though I like to go to baseball games I have heard such bad things about trying to park at this stadium that I have so far avoided it. I should have kept on doing so but on Tuesday night my daughter got us tickets to Guns N Roses who I have wanted to see live for 30 years. I left three hours early for the concert and just barely made it. First off there is fact that they placed this stadium in a residential neighborhood. The streets coming off the highway as well as the streets leading to the actual arena cant handle the traffic associated with large numbers of people coming in. This is not the case at the BB&T center or at Perfect Vodka or Coral Sky or whatever they are calling it this week. At one point I sat at a traffic light for 30 minutes not moving. It took us three hours to get near the arena but only 45 minutes to make it all the way home. Next the garage does not hold all of the vehicles of the people wanting to attend the event. It is too small to take in everyone. That leaves you driving around the sketchy neighborhood looking for its residents to sell you parking on their private property. I saw one such area when I came over the bridge and paid the ridiculous $40 to park there. If I hadnt done that I would have missed the band. The only people who could possibly like this are the residents of this community making money by selling parking because this ridiculous arena would not build a big enough garage. Lastly if you should be so lucky to actually find parking expect a long wait to get in the arena. They do not have enough staff running security and letting people in. Once we got in it was a 45 minute walk to our seat through wall to wall people. By the time I sat down I was so stressed out, tired, and hot. I spent the entire concert worried if my vehicle was safe where it was parked. Guns N Roses put on an outstanding 3 hour show packed with their hits. It was amazing to see them at long last with my daughter. The arena itself however is an absolute nightmare.
