I recently made reservations for a rehearsal dinner for a party of 25 at a cost of $30 per person + tax. At the time of paying the deposit and agreeing to the contract, I was told that there would be an outdoor patio with a fireplace, lights, live music and a beautiful spread of food for the occasion. The week of the event, I received written notification that if the restaurant did not finish their patio renovation, the restaurant would be closed in order to hose our event indoors. Not only did they not fulfill any of their promises, they failed to discount the bill for our special event. In fairness, they did provide a round of drinks "on the house" but they didnt even talk with us first to ask if our preference would be to receive this or negotiate the costs. I was also told the evening of the event by the owner that he would take a close look at their costs and get back to me to see if he could provide a discount. It has been 2 weeks since the event, I have emailed and there has been no response. This may be a great, local place to go for a glass of wine but I absolutely DO NOT recommend working with this establishment if you have a special occasion. Although our event was still special, it was because of the love and friendship of the group that gathered. The food, the venue and the lack of service for such a special occasion and considerable financial investment was the worst I have ever experienced in over 15 years of event planning experience.

Absolute Empfehlung!

I recently paid a visit to the red door during the annual Mayfair festival. While the food was great, the service was highly lacking. Me and my friend waited nearly 30 minutes to place our drink and food order(restaurant was not packed). In addition, we had had two more ppl join our party and requested separate checks. I was charged someone elses meal and was told she could not void or rerun the transaction and that we would have to settle this between each other. Highly unprofessional and unapologetic. Wont return.

Chef Jesus reccomended the fried green tomato Appetizer, which was amazing. My wife ordered the cheeze plate that claimed to be the best and I agree. The presentation was very attractive and the quality of the cheese was great. The entrees we ordered was also a chef suggestion and did not disappoint. The brisket melted in my mouth. The collards were perfectly cooked with a moist corn bread between. My wifes chicken and waffles made her love waffles again. We will be back.

Love this place. When the miss and I have time we love to come here. The food is fantastic and the beer and wine selection is always changing and always good. With the addition of a heated outdoor seating section it makes it all that more special. The wait staff is friendly and helpful for pairing drinks with food. Its street parking but its free. You can also park across the street at the museum too. Just remember you car has to be out by 12:am.

Brunch burger was way too big. Really thick sliced bacon that was partly over cooked and partly under cooked. Sausage patty was burnt to a crisp on one side.I basically had to deconstruct everything. Server never asked how anything was. It was not busy in there at all. My friend enjoyed his chicken and waffle. If I go back, Ill order that. Not too impressed with the service or this meal. Glad others had better experience than I did. Lucky you...

My fiance and I visited the red door this evening. When we walked in the door, the staff didnt greet us and passed by without saying a word. The manager spoke to us and had us seated. We were seated in the back corner by a larger party. Several waiters passed us by without acknowledging us. We sat for 10 minutes before leaving. Very disappointing, will not be returning again.

Niche, relaxing, stimulating, and complex- this is how I rate this Experience. The management is very hands on, knowledgeable and engaging. Their wine knowledge and selection is substantial and simply perfect for whatever your taste and preference. Whether you are seeking an entertaining rendezvous or a relaxing atmosphere, I recommend this establishment wholeheartedly!

Had a late lunch there on Saturday, 04/20/13. Excellent food, wonderful service, we will definitely go back again. I had the Door Melt and the wife had The Chicken Wrap. Both came with a small side salad as well. Very filling, the other half of the wrap came home with us. Definitely a superior eating choice in Lakeland.

One of those special places that makes Lakeland special. We love coming to Red Door to catch up with friends over a glass of wine, enjoy the eclectic, unique menu items, and just relax listening to the local musical talent. Love having this great locally owned business in the historic downtown district of Lakeland!

Richard and the staff at the red door are phenominal. Chef Jason always has a fresh, seasonal menu. The food and service is superb. They also hold fun events like wine market mondays (where half the proceeds go to a local charity.) This place is a gem inn the Lake Morton area. Go see for yourself.

Food is great and innovative. Ive had lunch and dinner, and never disappointed. Oh, and I didnt even mention the wine yet. Amazing selection from all over the world. Management is hands on and very welcoming. I recommend for an after dinner retreat or have lunch while reading your favorite book.

I have the say the service lacked and the prices where high 19.00 for chicken salad was a joke after dinner cam 70.00 way over rated and no soda which was a bummer for me. The atmosphere was relaxing but that was the only thing I had a burger and it was nothing special over rated all around.

One of our favorites in Lakeland. We love the neighborhood setting and the great patio, but also enjoy the cozy interior when it gets too hot to eat outside. We have been blown away time and again by the great food: risottos, poutine, chicken and waffles, Asian brisket - it is all great.

So me and my family came to enjoy the music. My brother and his partner were having a gig here and we had to turn the music down and we could barely hear the music and the waiter came once in like an hour and the manager was rude as hell and I would not recommend coming here.

Red Door is awesome ..reminds me of eateries up north where I am from. Great food, craft beer, lots of wine choices . One of the best local restaurants in Lakeland for sure! If you are tired of chain restaurants and want to try something new and tasty check it out!

My husband and I came to sit on the patio and enjoy the music. We were sat inside and were told we would be seated outside as soon as something came available. That never happen. When we left, the outside patio was almost empty. Way too noisy inside.

Went here for a graduation party dinner and I was very impressed. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. This is one of Polk Countys hidden gems. I didnt get a picture of it but they serve a waffle chicken that was so awesome!
