I always try to give the benefit of a doubt in every aspect. I dont feel, though, that this experience deserves that. My husband and I attempted to go to RCBC for the very first time, for the Low Country Boil night. The boil started at 6. We arrived around 6:30, after dealing with the parking situation and walking in from Timbuktu, we came in to find it busy (it was a Saturday night, after all, and it seemed like there were a few fancy events going on too, in other areas of the restaurant). Having never been there, we approached the desk and were asked if we had a reservation. I said no, that we were here for the Boil and none of the social media said anything about a reservation. At this point, her demeanor changed and basically stopped caring. She said they were full and there was no more room. She went to look (I assume) and came back saying again that there was no room. I said thats not a problem, we can wait, how long? She doesnt know. Is there a wait list? No, its first come first serve. What does that mean? So what should we do? Shrug. Clearly, through this whole conversation her body language is telling me she doesnt want to be talking with me and this is a bother to her. She at one point said she didnt know what to tell me. I kind of got the feeling that if I were to ask one more question of her, I might run the risk of getting asked to leave, so I stopped trying to get info. We figured wed stand and wait, and while we stood there, probably about 15-20 others came in and had the same thing happen to one extent or another. Everyone got turned away. Some people left immediately, some lingered awkwardly since there was no guidance from the staff. As a couple people started to linger, I realized that since there was no system to this, there was a chance that thered be confusion and fighting over whos next if we ever got to a point that anyone else could get in. Not just that, but after feeling like we were such an inconvenience, it really wouldnt matter even if we got a seat. We dont want to give our hard-earned money to a restaurant that promotes a special, then treats people like dirt for coming to it. Also, as we were finally getting ready to leave, we also picked up word from other rejected guests that theyd been told the food was running out (around 7). What a joke. Good thing we left. All I can say is, I will never, ever return there. Maybe they do have good food, who knows. But I wont stand for that kind of treatment. Ive already found another even closer place that has frequent boils, so well be taking our money there instead. Sorry RCBC, you blew it.

Worst thanksgiving dinner ever! We had a 3:00 seating in thanksgiving. First, we were on time but still had to wait a while to be seated. We had 3 people in our group with health problems but there were no seats while we waited. My son was thirsty and went to the bar for a glass of water and was told , NO HE COULDNT HAVE A GLASS OF WATER BECAUSE WE HAD NOT BEEN SEATED YET.!!! Then they took us upstairs for more waiting where it was so crowded people were bumping up against the desert tables which became very unappetizing. At this point we believe it will all be ok once we are seated. We finally get to a very awkward table arrangement (two round tables pushed together) and try to arrange ourselves so we can all visit over the meal. We finally got drinks and went to the buffet for food where they were out of plates. I had to ask someone to get more. Multiple dishes (dressings, butter for seafood whip cream for deserts) were already scraped empty and were not refilled for us. A few dishes had set out so long they were unidentifiable. Several at our table got roast beef but we only had butter knives to cut it with. We each had to flag down the server and wait for a proper knife. This was repeated as more people came back to the table with roast beef. A couple people bought the $10 bottomless mimosa or Bloody Mary but we again had to flag down the water for even a second glass. I let my fork go with a dirty plate and had to wait...again.... for another one. Then we noticed the room was clearing out of customers but this did not improve service. I guess we had the last seating and it was clear the workers were simply done for the day. We were only there for about an hour for bad food and bad service at $30 a head. Never again! Worst thanksgiving dinner ever!

We came for my daughters Sweet 16. When we got here, they told us we didnt have reservations, yet we set them 2 weeks ago. Then they seat us in an awkward area, which made us feel like we werent all sitting together, it was at least 30 of us. We had to negotiate where we were going to sit. When that was all said and done, we started ordering. We ordered drinks first. As they were bringing them out, we let the waiter know that my mother had moved from one table to another. He still put the drink in her old spot and then gets an attitude when we let him know again she wasnt sitting there anymore. When the food began to come out, the waiter gave my oldest daughter someone elses food, she was already eating when the realization hit, she ordered something very similar. So he tries to give that plate to the person it belongs to, but mind you, I said my daughter had already started eating from it. The waiter also calls his sarcasm funny but it really came off as rude and negative. They also didnt bring out our food to were we could eat at the same time. My food and the birthday girls food was basically forgotten about. We didnt get our food most of our party was almost done eating. I will say however, the food was tasty, the cooks did a nice job. The food was the most positive part about our experience.

I havent been here for almost 10 years. Recently moved back to Jacksonville and after talking this place up so we decided to eat here instead of blue fish. Worst mistake ever. Our waiter didnt know how the catch of the day was prepared, and he also wreaked of cigarettes. He never brought us waters either and that was just the start. Our grilled paprika shrimp were charred to a crisp. Our Caesar salads were good except the fact our tomatos were borderline rotten. Then came the dinner... $26 dollars for scallops. Not unreasonable except for when its 5 tiny scallops on top of burnt chorizo and orange baby food sauce? Then came my dish. Catch of the day. Golden tilefish. A fish Ive always wanted to eat. Well it looked food when it arrived and when I preceded to eat it I learned that it was more catch of last month not catch of the day. The sauce on it made it somewhat palatable. Im not a let me see the manager person or someone who tries to get free food but this was terrible yet we decided not to and just not come back. But then we got the bill for $100 dollars!?! For rotten and burnt food and old fish spurred me to at least write a review to let others know. Please do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else because this is not the restaurant I remember.
