Very disappointed with this establishment. To be honest, I love the atmosphere, love the location, and the comfortable seating, which all contribute to why I kept coming back. However, on Friday, 7th November 2014, the hostess allowed me and a friend to leave this place, because of a seating request. We went to Island girl for his birthday, to smoke a cigar and drink. This place has two sections where patrons can sit. The main room, which has tables and chairs, and the room on the left, furnished with couches and recliners. When we walked in, we told the hostess that we wanted to sit on the secluded left side, not in the main room. There were over 10 people sitting in this section already. She told me that she was closing the section, and it was not available. This is on a Friday night mind you, and she was closing the section before it was even 11pm. Im not that picky of a customer, at any establishment. Im really not. However, the main room always has loud, live music. I dont have anything against the man playing music. Thats his job, and he has to earn his money liked all people. However, Im coming to a cigar bar. I wanted to smoke my cigar, drink my whisey, and not have to shout in order to have a conversation with my friend. Thats hard to do, when someone is bellowing in your ear through a microphone and speaker. The bar, is located in the middle of the establishment. Thus, it is equal walking distance from the bar to either side of the lounge. But, because she (the waitress) didnt want to balance two sections of the lounge, so her job could be easier, she insisted that we couldnt sit on the other side, which was already seating 10+ customers. I took my friend to Aromas, and spent my $125.00 there. They didnt care where I sat.

I visited the Island Girl Cigar Bar for the first time this afternoon, and I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of cigars in the walk-in humidor, the comfortable lounge area, and a top-notch bar, all in addition to a very knowlegeable employee who was friendly and helpful. The humidor is well stocked with an impressive selection of premium handmade cigars ranging from the mild and mellow Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 to the pleasently full-flavored Romeo y Julieta RYJ, and many in between. The prices seem to be on par with the other humidors I visit, such as Tobacco Cove and Total Wine. The atmosphere was enjoyable, with multiple televisions, a superb ventilation system, and other like-minded people who were there to share each others company and enjoy a premium cigar. There is no rush, no pressure, and no need to be a stuck-up cigar snob. You can just be yourself and enjoy the moment. As for another review which mentioned a lack of cigar etiquette, I saw nothing that would breach such an atiquated notion. For those of you who enjoy a fine cigar and the company of like-minded people, this is the place to go.

My advice to anyone reading these is go ahead and skip Marius Ions review. IG is one of my favorite places to grab a drink in the country! There is no other concept like it. Aromas is a less than mediocre substitute. The staff is amazing, the drinks are refreshing, the smoke selection is unreal, and the live music is second to none in the city. A great place to watch the game as well. Only the best at Island Girl Cigar Bar! 1st rate, 1st class all the way. All others in Jacksonville, FL are imitations and 2nd rate, but thats ok, because there is a market for those establishments as well. I spend $125.00 there 3 times a week and walk out with a smile every time knowing I will be back! In fact, I think I will head up there tonight to enjoy a cocktail and a smoke with some friends, Take it from me, IG is the place to be! And if you cant make it to the Gate Parkway location, the locations in Neptune Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach are pretty freaking amazing too. Cheers!

Two weeks ago, I posted this original post with a 5-star rating...Great selection. Great atmosphere. Great martini selection. Tonight, I rate them a negative 5-star rating. The young lady was upset that she had to open the humidor for us to purchase cigars. She gave lackluster assistance until she saw that we were purchasing a case. She overcharged us and got upset that I wouldnt allow her to overcharge me by $57. She "fixed it" by still overcharging me by $30. I was yelled at and told to, "get over it." She even touched me!!! I dont know you and your hands should not be on me as youre yelling. Do NOT stay here if two young girls are working!!! They suck!

Good place to "GRAB AND GO" as they do have a great selection of preium cigars. I have been to this lounge a hand full of times, and the patrons and the staff are amongst the most unfriendly people in Jacksonville. There is a particular female staff memeber who occasionally drinks at the bar, that screams and cusses at the patrons. Furthermore, the ventilation is terrible. So, you are pretty much guaranteed to leave with a debilitating headache. I dont see this bar being a sustainable establishment. The drinks are over priced, drink menu leaves a lot to be desired; "GRAB AND GO!" OR DONT GO AT ALL!

Had a great time at a bachelor party there. Extremely comfortable seats and friendly staff. I am not a cigar aficionado or anything, but I really felt like its only area of opportunity was the filtration, which was only maybe 10% less effective than I would have liked it. I have been to a few cigar bars that all you could smell was the wood of the humidor, and yet still there are dozens of cherries burning in the room. Still, the atmosphere was great and no pretentiousness. DEFINITELY will be back.

Relaxed environment to just chill and socialize with your party. They offer ample seating in plush leather armchairs with a well stocked bar and humidor with great selection. The main lounge has multiple tvs displaying all sports events going on at the time and is well ventilated even when they are busy the smoke isnt overwhelming. My only complaint is that they do not offer any food or snack items.

This is a great jewel in the Jax area! The selection of fine cigars, and the premier setting make it my GO2 place whenever I am down south! The drink selection was fab too. The location couldnt be better, right off the expressway and easy to find. I have already spread the word on Instagram, Facebook and wherever else I can! Thank you IGCB for a great cool evening!

One of the nicest cigar bars in Jax. Well stocked humidor. Fully stocked bar. Also serve coffee and wine. Several flat screen tvs playing that days sporting events. Only been here a handful of times as Im neww to Jax and live on the west side, but I get here every chance I get. Staff has never been anything but courteous and helpfull.

Great selection of cigars and the prices are very fair and tons of fun and great deals like buy a certain box of cigars and get a free humidor or a bag of cigars comes with a lighter or cutter. Also the staff is always helpful when it comes to finding cigars that fits your taste or helping you find something new.
