Not bad, but...not my favorite venue. I came here to see James Blake after seeing him twice last year at the 9:30 Club, and while the show and sound itself was great, its the theater thats in need of a serious overhaul. Everything just seems super outdated and doesnt seem like the kind of place suited for concerts with crowds of this size. There arent enough bathrooms, food choices or staff to keep this place running smoothly. Plus, the seats were kind of gross and I had some leak from the ceiling (from the air conditioner?) falling on me for most of the show. If I can help it, Ill just go down the block to watch shows instead. The "Lincoln Logs" (a tastier, fancier version of the Ho-Hos) were pretty good, though.

I saw Aimee Mann and Jonathan Coulton at the Washington Theatre last week. Id never even heard of the venue, but it was a great experience. The show was general seating, which was fine for me. I didnt mind where I sat, but my companion wanted seats up close. The theater is small, so any seats would have been okay. The sound was very good. The seats were comfortable. The theater is across the street from a metro stop (but one that is without escalators at the moment). The theater has several bars, but the only food is popcorn and "Lincoln Logs" (sort of like Ho-Hos).

I saw the comedian Jim Jeffries at the Lincoln Theater back in July. This is an absolutely beautiful venue. The antique decor is well maintained and is a lovely environment for a show. I sat in the balcony and had a great view of the entire stage. The bouncers did a good job of getting everyone inside quickly and efficiently. Only real downside was the very long lines at both bars on the first and second floor. I recommend going out for drinks before entering the theater so you get a cheaper price and dont have to wait in the long lines.

The balcony is worthless, you cannot see the stage at all... just the backs of peoples heads. Balcony tickets shouldnt cost the same price as anything else if you literally cannot see the show. If you get a balcony seat, just expect to close your eyes and only listen to the show. Plus, the balcony gets REALLY HOT and stuffy. Never been to such a bad venue before. Both shows, tickets were ordered the instant they went on sale, and got stuck with far far back balcony seats. All the good seats will be gone from secret pre-order sales.

This theater is not designed to see anything. The slope of the balcony is too shallow so you wont see the stage at all from the back. See the tiny smudge in this pic? Thats Eddie Izzard I think. The volume on the PA wasnt loud enough so I could barely hear him either. Plus the air conditioning was broken and it was 100 degrees up there, for which there was a box fan on a chair making it even harder to hear. Total waste of money, they should offer this crowd discounts on future tickets or free booze, god.

The staff here is wonderful. I had a medical issue when I first went to this location and panicked because the ticketing service (website, not their fault) had put me away from my companion. I wasnt in a condition where I could be left alone, but they were really accommodating and found good seating without disrupting anyone elses experience. The show was amazing too!

This is the worst venue I have ever been to. I had to wait in line for at least a half hour after the show had started because they were slow to let people in. If you get a seat in the balcony, forget about being able to see anything. Somehow within seconds of the tickets going on sale, the only seats available were in the balcony? Absolutely horrible experience.

I like President Lincon my b-day is the same day as President Lincon. Also to President trump hang in their because I feel your try to do your best and i just wanted to say Christ the Lord Loves you. Also I have read a verse out of the wall board that said trust in the Lord an agnoleg the Lord in all his ways and he shall direct they paths.

Lovely theatre that reminds me of many a good show in similar venues. We went for a comedy show and loved the layout and acoustics. Facilities were clean and well-maintained, sound quality was great, and the show was fun. The seats are aging, though, and some are not quite comfortable. Not great for a 4-hour show.

Nice theatre in an old style that I really enjoy. Lots of pictures of Lincolns head. It is important to note that he was not shot there. It can be hard to see near the back of the balcony, but toward the front of the balcony is really good. The balcony can get quite uncomfortable when it is hot outside.

Its not large but thats exactly why I like it. I come here to see my favorite performers in intimate settings, something you just cant get at the Verizon Center. The acoustics are great, but the drinks are generally overpriced. Sheesh. Great all around experience though.

Beautiful restoration, large lobby and comfortable seating. Perfect for a play or certain live performances. Not a great place for concerts where you want to dance. Seats are a little small and the isles are narrow. Sound system had trouble with a large rock band..

Great show space. A little frustrating when EVERYTHING involves stairs and there isnt a way for those who dont need a list but cant do stairs to get around. The "charm" of a historic building, I suppose. Very glad this space has been preserved!

Saw the Pixies there on 5/162017. GREAT venue! Lovely interior, friendly staff (bartenders and ushers), comfortable seating, and SO easy to get to - DC Metro stop ("U Street" on the green/yellow line) is right across the street.

Nice enough venue I suppose, but the A/C wasnt working during a late July show, and there was no mention at all. No warning upon entry, no apology, and they still charged $4 for tiny bottles of cold water.

Dated building - inside and also outside. Cant believe that the performances were so expensive. Ive been there twice and left so disappointed - the actors played very bad and the decoration was awful.

A cozy space to watch bands, plays or discussions. Dont believe the reviews/descriptions - the most food they have is popcorn, so eat at one of the convenient restaurants on Florida Ave!

Theyve done a nice job bringing this old theater back to life. Most shows are general admission, but, if you line up about an hour early, you wont have a problem claiming a good seat.

Definitely historic. The stage was small but the show definitely utilize all the space. A lot of great performances. Great idea to add a bar and snack stands. Great experience.

Pretty place with nice acoustics, but the drinks are expensive and lousy. I do hate general admission seating and crappy wine. Also parking is seriously challenging.

I wasnt sure if Id like going to a smaller venue with assigned seats for a concert, but it was quite good! The staff was professional, and the bathrooms were clean.

Great acoustics for a wide range of music, though if its a show where youd want to be on your feet dancing the whole time it gets a little tricky with the seating.
