Langston is perfect if youre looking for a decent urban course that is extremely convenient. They have a huge and well-maintained area to chip, pitch and put; a driving range that leaves something to be desired, but is no worse than most ranges in the area; and a solid 18 holes. It is head and shoulders above East Potomac and Rock Creek, and not too far off most MoCo and PG County courses. For $30, you cant do much better. The front nine is a short with small greens. They were built in 1939, originally as a segregated course. The back nine was added a decade or so later from reclaimed land. It is beautiful, abuts the Arboretum, and provides some challenges. The grill is not bad either. The deep-fried half-smokes with everything and a giant cup of sweet tea keep you fueled for the back nine. Even their breakfast sandwiches are surprisingly good. Who knew jelly goes great on an egg sandwich? Apparently the South, but its new to me. The area is transitioning. There are some rough spots to the North, but going South towards RFK and West towards the H Street corridor, the neighborhood looks better every day. Langston Bar and Grille down the street serves some great drinks and solid comfort food. The course could definitely do with a cash infusion to improve drainage and get more attentive maintenance. But for a municipal course, you cant do better.

Its an extremely open golf course with a decent grill. Thats basically the only thing it has going for it. Not well kept and staff is extremely rude. They book tee times 10 minutes apart and but they have par 3 holes, so every single group is waiting for the group before to finish before they can even drive, and the staff comes around in the golf cart telling every single team to hurry up. Kind of ruining the whole golf experience. Even though it was obvious that there was no bottleneck. Everyone was waiting. Maybe. ook fewer groups and you wouldnt have this problem. The course isnt exactly attracting any pga lvl golfers anyhow, maybe just book fewer tee times and actually let your golfers play.

Ive played the course a few times and was not impressed by it at all. Course is pretty beat up and your bound to get behind people who shouldnt be playing on a golf course at all. For being in the city its pretty decent though. I go there mostly for the range. About $5 bucks for a small (~35) balls. The metro goes over your head about every 30 seconds so at least you get a chance to work on your concentration. Whoever said you can walk to Nationals games is retarded. Its close to RFK (where the Nationals used to play) but I would not walk there unless I had a death wish (the area is GHETTO!). Actually, ghetto pretty much sums up the place in general.

Total Gen as stated by previous reviewer. Live less than a mile away, excited to see what will change in the next few years. AMAZING FOOD, Im sure they cook everything in bacon fat but everything is so wholesome. Youll def be a spec of salt in this pepper-shaker but dont be worried, the old guys are nice and grumpy and the staff are helpful and pleasant. The starters seem to be right off the streets with zero experience and there are no rangers so pace of play can be tough (rare), took is 3.5 hours for 9 holes...

Best place for a golfer working and moving about the inner city of Washington DC as well as for the golfer who understands the game. Before or after golfing enjoy a delicious cheeseburger and chicken salad sandwiches. If you read a post of someone complaining about their experience a the Langston Golf Course take it for granted those individuals complain often about life.

Best prices for golf in town. Yeah the sand traps arent sandy, its sometimes hard to tell the difference between the rough and fairway, and the greens come with bald spots and divots, but I love this place. Great place for some casual golf. The staff is friendly and helpful. The layout is interesting and there is a good mix of challenging and easy holes.

Underrated, if you ask me. If I had to choose between Hains Point and Langston, Id come here every time. Its not the greatest of courses, but the place is queit, the back nine is gorgeous and its a bit more spacious than your typical urban golf course. It could be better, but its nice enough for a casual golfer in DC.

This course does so much for the community. Its convenient. It has a golf program for children the mine attend faithfully. They love it! I really appreciate all they do here. The staff are friendly all the time. I have only great things to say about this urban treasure!

I love the food here, I never went to the golf course. Been going here for 5 years and the only thing that I did not like was that they raised the price and made the food smaller other than that I enjoyed the hight school acrosss the streen and a lot of memories there.

What a dump. Duck feces all over the course. Greens are terrible. This course really has some history and many of the negro league tournaments were played here. Seems like someone ought to put some money into it and fix it up. It has potential.

Over rushed golf on a sub par course. Most places i have been to book at 15 minute time slot at least, but they book at 10 minute intervals here. Fairway and course is poor quality on the front nine. The back nine is nice and less crowded.

I went to the driving range for the first time this past Sunday and in addition to the great service, I met some great people there also. Sharing tips, encouraging novice players...I would recommend this course for anyone.

Easily accessible by the Streetcar. Reasonable costs and not to hard for novice players. The First Tee offers lessons to kids here. They have practice bunkers, putting greens and a practice range. Play 18 or 9 holes.

Langston is a hidden gem--its not the best course you will ever go to but its better than East Potomac and its a lot less crowded and easier to get on the course on the weekend. You also cant beat the price.

Golf was great, still trying to figure out why it takes 20 minutes to get a hotdog and a scrambled egg bacon and cheese sandwich on white toast with 4 people working the kitchen????

Played off season on a sunny 50 degree day in December. The course was in overall very good shape for the season and the greens for December were in exceptional condition..

Pretty crappy course but its cheap, local and better than any other alternative in DC. No refreshment cart 99% of the time and it can get very crowded.

This is a terrible Golf Course. Had a very bad experience, it is pretty beat up, and the course is not well kept. DO NOT GO, unless you are desperate.

I love this treasure. It is more than an important historic golf course. It is a community. I go every time I get a chance.
