This review is on the company that promotes bar code events, Social Architects. I was there for Mayweather and McGregor fight. I got a ticket on Evenbrite 4 days before the fight. When I got to barcode, there were 2 lines, one for people that already had a ticket and the other for people that had no ticket. I was told that because the place is at a maximum capacity, i had to wait in line to get in. Then, I noticed something interesting. People who had no tickets started going in while people who had a ticket were waiting. I soon learned that Fred (the guy in a stripe shirt, who also works for Social Architects) along with other people were getting cash to get people in. Needless to say, i was pissed. I started confronting Terri, one of the promoters, in front of everyone about what was going on and he told the bouncers to let me in so i wouldnt expose what they were doing. I understand every business wants to make money, but you dont do that by screwing over people who already bought tickets just because people who dont have tickets are paying you more on the spot. I confronted Fred after the fight about what he was doing and he gave me some lame excuses that I honestly dont even remember. When I asked the name of his company, he refused to share that. Shame on Social Architects and Barcode for hiring them to promote their events! I hope this post will discourage Social Architects from screwing over people in the future.

My girlfriend and I visited Barcode before seeing a concert at the Verizon center. We purchased the Groupon promotion that was running at the time. The service was great, we stopped in just before the dinner rush as most people were enjoying happy hour. The selection of food was very wide. I wasnt expecting to see so many different types of food on the menu, it actually made it hard to order. Its definitely a bar with food and not a specialized dining establishment. Now, the food we did order was all great, so bravo to the chef and team for delivering quality taste and presentation with so many different styles on the menu. A+ for that!! We ordered the Spicy Habenero Shrimp and were warned it was hot, its really not. It was mild at best, but very dynamic flavor. We also ordered the turkey butler and chicken and waffles as our entree, and a delicious lava cake for dessert. The lava cake took a while to get there as they do make it in house, it took about 20 minutes, so dont order it if you are in a rush. Overall a great experience and wonderful service. Anyone who can keep up with my water intake gets a win from me! #ScottMcNuttReviewsDC

Its a worst place I ever wanted to have a dinner. I bought Groupon for dinner for 4 and then called them and put reservation for dinner 2 weeks prior! I called them again 1 week before to confirm reservation. Finally when I came to DC, I called them again and they confirmed my reservation. When I came to the restaurant at 7 pm(I had my reservation and this time) and the guy this place told me: "Sorry, we have a private party and we couldnt help you to resolve YOUR PROBLEM with Groupon". What a hell?? My problem? Its ridiculous!!!! Its the worst service and attitude even prior to visiting this place!!! Its not like YOU serve people in America! I would never be back! I will not advice this place to anybody! BAD!! VERY BAD!!!

I attended the brunch with a group of friends and we had a great time and the ambience was great. The thing that is tactless about the brunch is that they come up to you at the table and you pay the waitress and get an wrist band before going to the brunch buffet. The thing I disliked the most was the fact that you cannot have champagne alone, you must get the mimosa, which I think is absolutely absurd. Some brunches may charge a little more or even a little less. There were not very many people in the restaurant and the waitress took a long time giving refills. The food selection was really good and they filled the dishes pretty promptly without a long wait. The live DJ adds to the likeability of Barcode.

I am giving 2 stars for the Owners who opened a nice Bar and generated more employment. No stars for the Bartender who works there. Yday we went to bar and ordered 3 pizas to go. Bartender said Sir pizza will be here in 10 minutes. After 30 minutes we asked him about pizza he said he is not the one who is cooking, this is not a Dominos Pizza. When we objected to his answer that he is not supposed to answer in this manner. He was more rude. Owners pls chck with your bartenders, on your hardwork for making such a nice place your Bartenders are making a bad patch on it. Be Aware of your bartenders. Incident happen on Wednesday Sept 10, 2014 at around 9.30.

I was looking for a place to eat and have good cocktails late on a Sunday night. Barcodes kitchen was open late, and the concierge at the hotel suggested it. Food was great (esp. the salmon and calamari,) but the "baby cauliflower" they have as a side was... pretty fibrous. (And I love veggies.) Music was great, atmosphere was good, service was attentive, bouncers were cool. The best drink was the Green Tea Mojito. The other specialty cocktails were just okay. People were dressed well and were energetic. It will probably be my DC Sunday night late-night grub spot (assuming Im willing to get dressed to the 9s.)

Had been to Bar Code for happy hour, acquaintance suggested lunch here. Had the WORST SANDWICH EVER in D.C. Supposedly a panini, it wasnt grilled at all, was just on a plain roll. It was supposed to have prosciutto, but it was a thick hunk of (clearly microwaved) grey meat. I took most of it off to try to salvage the sandwich; when I tried a piece of the meat alone I almost choked. Mozzarella on it wasnt melty in the least, a few sad pieces of basil. Would have sent it back except didnt want to offend my lunch companion who suggested the place. Will never go back to eat anything here.

Barcode is essentially the Kwame Brown of bar/clubs in DC. Great potential, terrible performance. Barcode has an incredible space, pretty good food, but was terribly boring as a night spot. The staff were relatively plain and unpolished for such a nice place. Bouncer attempted to kick someone out for dancing too early in the night before the "dance floor" was cleared off. This was ultimately overturned by a manager, but this just speaks for the atmosphere. Try it for dinner or a late night bite to eat, but if you want good DC nightlife, spend your money/time/energy elsewhere.

Came by today, wasnt even properly greeted because the big security person was too busy fraternizing with scantily clad women. Then stops me just as I walk in to tell me the "line starts over there" (there was no one in line thru were just too busy talking to not notice me) then tells me theres a $20 cover charge. If you want a nice place to have brunch, lunch or relax in dont come here its just a club in the daytime with women barely dressed and men trying to impress them. I gathered all of this from 1 minute standing outside...
