My sisters and I were looking for a nice place to finally spend time together and this place popped up in my research. I loved the interior design and being someone who has never been to a lounge before - this place was really welcoming! The bartenders were nice, the people were friendly - the music was also very diverse. The one thing i loved the most was the layout of the place - its divided into so many parts that I honestly dont know how many there are - my sisters and I stayed on the main floor where they played hip hop/ and rnb. Around midnight, we were having such a ball! Ladies, there are men who get a bit drunk and hover over you but dont worry - the security is tight and when the bouncer saw a guy bothering my sisters and I - he immediately stepped in. Plus - dont be afraid to speak up if you feel uncomfortable. I had to keep moving away from this guy until finally I had no choice but to verbally tell him off - it worked. Overall, the interior is a bit victorian, plenty of couches to sit and catch your breathe, great selection of music, friendly bartenders, not too badly priced, and clean environment. This will definitely be our place to go to on Fridays!! Great for everyone! I really wanted to check out the rooftop but it was raining - but next time! Check this place out for sure!

Ive only been here at night, so my review is strictly of the nightlife here and from my point of view. This place is a pretty decent time. Drinks are fairly good and not ridiculously priced. It can get quite crowded at times. The crowded nature means that it can get quite warm, which is why many people head to the patio out back, however this place is like an Afghan opium den because of all the smokers. If you are not a fan of cigarette smoke, you are not going to like the patio. If you can get past the crowds and the smokers outside, you get to enjoy a very unique venue. On Fridays, you can enjoy up to four different music areas including some live jazz upstairs. The variety of music alone is worth checking this place out. The cover can be a bit steep, but the quantity and quality of the music on offer probably makes it worth it.

18th street features a revolving array of themed nights from Brazilian to dance music. This bar/club has an amazing atmosphere and pulls an extremely diverse crowd. Drinks are expensive but also poured heavy handedly...which depending may or may not be a good thing. The outdoor area has another bar and DJ that allows smoking. It also features a fireplace room, a couch/table service area, a dance floor with live music, another bar on the second floor with live music and sometimes even a third area. So you get it, plenty of space and lots of people. The place 18th street really shines in keeping the crowd diverse with their changing music nights. I recommend trying out the club on various nights just to get a taste. One note, there is a cover after 11 and you need to have shoes and pants..no flip flops or shorts for guys.

Where what you want (nothing too crazy though)!!!!! Drinks are decent, considering its DC!!!! All sorts of people to party with!!! Three dance floors within multiple levels and an outside patio for more dancing and smoking if needed. Oh yeah I forgot, the patio has a bar too!!!! I love everything about it. Never too crowded like Park on 14th street and the music is all over the place (in a good way). The music is happy and up beat, not like the normal "drugs, money, hoes" genre that you hear in a club. The people are joyful and are usually always willing to dance, not just stand there to take up space and try to look cool. The best nightlife experiences Ive had as a customer. Keep it going PLEASE!!!! Dont over pack the place though, that gets old, QUICKLY!!!

A friend and I drove from out of town and finding a good club/lounge seemed to be nearly impossible. We were recommended to go to Eighteenth Street Lounge by a random bartender who could tell we were not having a good time. Words cant even describe how in awe I was of this place. The atmosphere was gorgeous, the people were awesome, the music was everything. I absolutely loved this place. The music was mainly house music that night. Not sure if its every night but if youre a house fan this is the place for you!!! Now only if I can find that same kind of atmosphere?Music over here in Minnesota I would be a happy camper *Shrugs

As the stars indicate - its okay. Happy hour specials are good, and you can find a $25 bottle of wine during happy hour, which is great. Good selection of liquor, wine. That said, I wasnt really a fan of the crowd or ambiance. Great music and a unique feel, but for a lounge I found the seating to be lacking (tons of open space they could fill with seating), particularly at the bar (5 chairs for a large bar, one of which was taken by the staff.) The crowd is also very hipster-esque which is fine in small doses, but if you like a more homey, less pretentious vibe, its probably not the best option.

This place is cool. really cool. It feels like you just crashed a house party. Theres so much space here and rooms with different vibes you can get lost in. The one thing is the drinks; they suck, like bad. Our drinks were way too sweet and my two friends and I--and there is not a cocktail snob among us---could tell that the ratios were way off. However, there is a different bartender on each floor, so my advice would be to find the good one, if s/he exists. Get something in a bottle, and enjoy the vibe in this hideaway lounge.

The crowd ebbs and flows, heavier on Fri-Sat, especially when schools out, as most seem nearer high school than old school. The second and third floors have rooms used for private events which are ok if dim light and thumping house mix leaking in are tolerable. On Tuesday nights, theres a tango class at 8 for beginners and a dance 9-1. Dont park out front ever, nighttime boot/tow zone poorly marked, though not possible right now due to suspicious construction zone the clubs on the block may have engineered.

Ive been @ ESL for so long but I feel sorry that I havent managed to give any comments. This place is amazingly great! The Wed live reggae, and the Sun nites are my favourite ones, though almost all days are nice. I also believe that the management is pretty excellent that theyve a descent price for their drinks compared to other clubs. Last but not least is that Ive seen many invited Djs in different days and this gives another additional star for the club, though their own Djs are already high class!!!

Not so crowded when they first open at 5 or for happy hour, which is nice. The rooftop deck is good as long as other peoples cigarette smoke isnt blowing into your face. But then they turn the music on like its some kind of club and you cant even hear yourself think let alone talk to the people you are with. If you want overpriced drinks and bougie atmosphere, then go on ahead. At least they stock top shelf liquor for you to pay too much for...
