Super bel petit endroit seulement a moins de 600 km de Montréal!! Apporter votre lunch et enjoy the place! Merveilleux coucher soleil:-)

I love this free (for now-DEP wants to start charging and building a snack bar here-ridiculous waste of our money) beach. Decent parking but a 1/4m haul to the beach. Tough when you have your beach stuff, fine for an off-season walk. Very long boardwalk for exercise. Small beach but tons of shells! Bring your sneakers, save your feet. During low tide, walk 1/2m on sandbar to Charles Island. Very gentle waves, super low water line for a 1/4 mile at least, just knee deep. Portapotties in parking lot. No bathrooms on/near beach but that keeps the crowds away too. Demanding families and large groups go to other beaches. This beach is for people who enjoy the simplistic beauty and relaxation of the ocean.

Its a beautiful beach, so full of recent history. Part of it was built over a landfill. In some places where marshes flow, you can see trash from when I was a kid, decades old. In mint condition, how perverse and fascinating. There is no such place as away, when it comes to trash dumps (human middens). One of CTs most historically significant beaches, see for yourself. I an environmentalist so this beach fascinates me.

Doesnt get better than free parking! Which is why I go. I live in Hartford county so any beach would be a travel. Its nice not having to pay for gas and for parking. Clean and maintained beach. Only negative is the amount of seashells. They are EVERYWHERE. It might be uncomfortable laying down even with a blanket and Id recommend water shoes if you plan to walk along the beach.

I went for the first time yesterday. I guess you get what you pay for. Parking is free so they dont keep the place up at all! They had 6 porta-pottys, only 3 worked but they were over filled and had tons of flies. The life guards yell for every little thing. They dont allow swimming. I was not impressed at all!

Just visited today from PA. Beautiful beach, not over crowded, clear water... No waves & lots of sea shells - so bring your water shoes. We have a one year old... Not necessarily the best for him to walk around and play in shelly sand - even with water shoes! Water was also very COLD! We had a blast anyway!

Beach is super smelly, sand is awful because ot is full of broken shells. Thr beach literally felt like a water whole off of a big city (as it actuallt is). there was probably only 20-25ft distance from the road vacation rentals and the shore line. it didnt feel "beachy?.

I love to walk on this beach, its beautiful and calm. Love to watch the sunset. When the tide is low, its nice to walk over to the Charles island and watch the birds play with their catch. Or collect the shells. Its a beautiful place any time of the year.

Beach is alright, but the boardwalk is much better, which is the reason why I mostly go there. No bathrooms, just port-o-johns. They need to service them way more than they do. They get very nasty, as they dont get serviced regularly.

The vibe is nice, the sand is horrible, and the water is alright. At least we dont pay for parking. I wouldnt pay to come here but its theclosest beach in my area. This place is more of a chillin area. Oark doesnt have a lot.

Always enjoy coming to Silver Sands. There is no park entry fee and the grounds are well kept. This isnt the place to go for waves. It is the place to go for a quiet and beautiful view. Love the boardwalks too.

Good view of seeing 2 ocean waves meeting from opposite sides and walking on the path between them on low tide. But from the beach, sand and basic facility perspective, very poor even compared to beaches in NJ

Lovely free access beach. Good amount of parking. Boardwalk was great and had a good time walking it. Only minor issue was that instead of a bathroom I use the port a potty which is never fun.

Great place to run. There is also a nice swim beach and a sandbar that goes out to Charles Island. The bar offers great structure and is a fishermans paradise.

A hike to the beach from the parking lot, but a huge park with an amazing boardwalk unlike any in CT. Lots of wildlife especially on the old dump road.

Great state park, no parking fees, large, clean beach, portable potties. Main parking area is about about 2K yards so its a short walk to the beach.

Nice park, free parking. Calm and shallow waters because of sandbars. No amenities like concession or bathrooms but this isnt that kind of park.

Great place for family and friend . If you are a collector of seashells there is plenty of it . You can fish and find crabs when the tide is low.

A great beach to visit! They also have restroom facilities and a picnic area. Parking isnt super close to the shore but also not super far away.

You dont have to pay for parking, it has a nice view but close to the beach the sand has a lot of shells which makes it hard to walk barefoot.

Horrible beach, smells like rotting carcasses (espesically at low tide), sand is full of broken shells, not pleasant to run or walk here.

This is a great place for a short walk a day at the beach or waiting in the water out to the island. We always have a great time

Please keep the free parking. Too many beaches charge to enjoy something so important as the ocean. Im glad this one doesnt.

The beach is so smelly. Full of rocks and the beach sand is not even sands. Lot of seaweed and the water just look dirty.
