Lookout Mountain is already known for Buffalo Bills grave, but it boasts the best views of Denver and Golden, but to mention the vistas of the Rockies. The visitors center is a great addition to the already existing park and historical mansion on the premises. The on-site staff is quite help in identifying when and where certain species can be best viewed in the wild. The center also gives children a place to play and learn about the local wildlife. Complete with restrooms and a heated exhibit hall, this is a great place to start and end your Lookout Mountain adventure.

Beautiful scenery, adequate displays, nice observation post with great binoculars. Nicest thing about it is that its at the top, so its a good destination break after climbing the trail to get there. Just look for any of the trailheads coming up the east side of the mountain. Start as high as you like to make it easier. Its a beautiful hike up.

Nice facilities to get information from a ranger and also to find park maps. Yet, I would not really call this place a nature center as there is little educational value within the facilities. The trails and pathways outside the center provide excellent views of mother nature. Bathroom facilities were clean.

This is a great spot to get views of Denver or go on a little hike that is close to the city. Check their website for kid friendly workshops. If you have someone from out of town visiting who isnt up to hiking but still wants to see a bit of the mountains, this is a good option for them.

Love bringing out of town guests here. Great trails where you often see wildlife and a cute little museum thats always staffed by the friendliest and most informative people. I especially like that they have footage of wildlife that theyve caught on camera showing in the lobby.

Came for the trails which are great for children or those with mobility issues. Good place to get outside and enjoy nature. The trails are nice and very easy to follow, but traffic noise and the sight of transmission lines in the park distract from the views.

This is a great place for an easy hike. Lots of amazing views of Denver. The trails are open well before the center is open, so dont worry about showing up before opening time. Highly recommend if you are looking for a beautiful easy hike.

Its amazing how Jeffco do to preserve this natural and build beautiful exhibition center, today is amazing up there while its very cloudy and cold day, didnt see any wildlife walking around like they used to but still beautiful up there

Great hike for kids. A couple different routes for different distances. Frequently see deer or elk. Inside there is a nice little museum type area with lots to learn about the plants and animals in the area. No dogs allowed though.

Fun place to visit. You can hike or drive to the top and get a wonderful view of the mountains just outside the entrance. I gave it a 3 because it is nothing compared to other spots in Colorado but is certainly worth going to.

Awesome nature center, and preserve. They keep very good care of this park. There are ample amounts of good hikes with great lookouts, but the only ones we found were out-and-backs (we prefer loops).

We love going up to Lookout Mtn Nature Center for picnics, a short loop and longer loop (1 hr: longer) and playing/exploring inside with our preschooler. It says :45 visits. We stay for 2-3 hrs.

This was a great hike for our 2 year old. She loved climbing some of the rocks and looking at all the different types of flowers. Nice stroll and some tree cover so you dont get hot.

Spectacular views and very interesting history with the near by Betcher mansion. Call ahead of a tour of the mansion is on your agenda. It is often used for private events.

Great views. Not the best sunset location as the direct view is obstructed by the radio tower. But I but sunrise is Spectacular with the sun coming up over the city.

We couldnt get in. There was no sign posted and we were there hanging out for a while out front. We visited the mansion next door and then just headed back.

This place is very well maintained though it has seen a lot of use. It is small, but the people were friendly and the exhibits fun and informative.

The building here looks amazing. Things were being renovated when we were here so it felt like things to look at were in short supply.

The person working here was not the friendliest fellow. Gave the sense that he might just be a little better than us lowly visitors.
