Rage first opened its doors in the mid 80s and I was actually at its grand opening. Before it was Rage there was a market (Arrow market to be exact) sitting at its location so the opening of a new dance club in the heart of WeHo was an exciting event. Since then the excitement that has surrounded Rage has greatly diminished. The club has gone through a major renovation but still feels somewhat dated. Furthermore, Rage mainly caters to promoters that stage their promoted event at the club on different nights each week. Some of these promotions such as Gameboi, a weekly gay Asian night have been quite successful. Others have not been that successful and that not only hurts the club money wise but it also hurts the clubs overall reputation. Before Mickys caught on fire back in 2007, the talk around town was that Rage was very close to going out of business. They simply could not generate any excitement anymore and both Factory and Mickys were slowly killing them. The fire at Mickys saved Rage. It took close to two years for Mickys to get its act together and rebuild and reopen. During those two years those who did not want to wait in very long lines to get into Factory found themselves at Rage. You would think that the owners and management of Rage would have taken advantage of that time and would have tried anything (or at least something) to turn around the fortunes of the club. They didnt. A better and stronger Mickys eventually reopened and it looks like history Id going to repeat itself. Rage simply cannot generate the excitement that both Factory and Mickys can. If overpriced drinks, dated decor and overly aggressive crowds are your thing, the Rage just might be the place for you. If not, there are quite a few other clubs within walking distance of Rage that will offer you a greater night out experience.

Not all the rage... at all. Ive been staying in Los Angeles long-term, and all my gay friends are absolutely nuts about this place. After 18 months of hearing them RAVE about *RAGE*, I decided to go. Quite honestly, its not as bad as everyone says. Drinks were pricey, but large and strong. Atmosphere... it was cramped but surprisingly comfortable for a busy Friday night... the people were mixed of all sorts: Asian, black, Latino, white, tourists, locals, gays/straights/bisexuals. In general, it was definitely more of a "mixed" crowd as opposed to a "gay" crowd. Tons of straight couples there. It almost seemed to be a little touristy. The music was not my cup of tea. Strange stuff almost like a combo of hip-hop and techno. Not quite gay, but not quite trendy... definitely a younger beat. Doorman and bartenders were nice. No complaints there. Everyone I interacted with also seemed to be very nice. Cover to get in was $12. I wont say it WASNT worth it... but it was still a bit overpriced. This is just an average gay (so they say) club. End of story. Ive been to nicer clubs in Dallas and Miami, and there are definitely hipper clubs in Los Angeles. From what I hear, Rage had its heyday... alas, I think that heyday has probably passed. Dont buy into all the hype. Its a nice club but dont set yourself up for a letdown by expecting this place to blow you away and be spectacular. Run-of-the-mill experience.

I when to this club and the experience I got from the bartender was horrible, I think maybe wasnt enough the $5 I gave him on tips for 2 beers I got. He rudely answered me "wheres my tip?" when I just asked him for a lemon for my beer. I was out of this club for while cuz of this reason but apparently they hired more ppl with the same problem. I would never come back to this place again. Sorry but not .

平日でもにぎわっていてこのあたりは全部そうですが、入場無料で出入り自由なので気軽にいけていいと思います。 ドレスコードも特になくハーフパンツでもTシャツでもOKでした。

If I rated the food only I would give it 3 stars, but Im not one to party with the help. Dont like that only one nationality, a more aggressive one at best are the only clients, always a fight, the dancefloor is scary, might as well be a straight club full of scent deprived, recklessly rude men. Not enjoyable, never going back. Ever!

Beautiful venue, the staff were all very friendly and in a super hyped party mood! Security were only visible when they were needed. Very free flowing atmosphere, dope music, well blended crowd, strong drinks and did I mention how beautiful it is??? Definitely a secret jewel of Hollywood! Highly recommended!!!!

We were there on St Patricks day early ish and the service was good up until it started to get crowded. It didnt seem like there were enough bar tenders on hand to handle the crowd. Overall a cool place to grab a drink and chill outside or watch dudes dance on tables if thats your cup of tea.

The Rage. One of the first gay bars I went to in California. It was the place to go, watch and be seen. Just to see it is still around and doing well makes me feel good. 25 years ago this was one of the first places in this part of WeHo to have 18 and over nights.

Definitely was one of my favorite places to frequent as a young gay man at 18. I would use to go every weekend and would always meet great people and have a great time. I have many fond memories associated with Rage. Secure parking behind the building.

Saturday night is Latin Night, and it wasnt too disappointing. The DJ kept the dance floor packed, but the music got a little too poppy (for me). But, they have cute "go-go boys," clean restrooms. When Im ever back in LA, I would visit again.

$5 bottled water and no small tap options for a crowded little box club is unacceptable. Bartenders snap at the mere mention of it, after paying my $5 for an arrowhead the bartender said "If you dont have money, you should stay home." Nice!

Music was very good on a Thursday night and the dance floor was full but everywhere else in the bar was empty. I like that they show videos of the music that they play. It looked like they have an upstairs area but it was closed that night.

My first and most consistent gay destination, is still in business. This place is the EPITOME destination of allowing yourself to be a free, gay young man, man period. Horny the better. Thanks for still being there Rage!!

Good music, although some of the patrons are a lil non socialable, but not everyone was like that. So make sure u go with some friends or you might end up dancing alone.

Fun Place, Great Drinks, Great selection of music. Friday nights are for 18 year olds and its a chill place. You wont be harassed by drunk guys like at OHM.

This place is the worst gay bar I have ever been in. Sorry, but they need to be more innovative as far as the same place. Boring!!!!
