El Molino is a small family winery on the site of the original El Molino winery from 1871. They produce 2 wines, a Pinot noir and a Chardonnay, both sourced from their family vineyard in Rutherford. These are serious wines that age tremendously well- particularly the Chardonnay, which does not go through malolactic fermentation. Most everything at the winery is done by hand, and if you have visited the larger facilities in Napa this tour is the perfect contrast to industrial wine production as El Molino is made and sold by the 2 owners. You must call ahead for an appointment and directions as its difficult to find. One of the best experiences in Napa!

Extraordinary wines and winery tour - tours and tasting at this small family-owned winery are all done by the owner/winemakers themselves and was exactly what we were looking for in Napa. Jon is passionate about his winery and the wine he is making (excellent burgundy-style chardonnay and pinot) and makes the winery and the wine making experience really come to life. Highly, highly recommend the wines and the tour (by appointment only).
