As a raging alcoholic with a crippling gambling problem, Ive been to many casinos around the world over the course of my life. But none of these have ever adequately captured the appropriate atmosphere commensurate with a truly GREAT casino. It wasnt until walking through the doors of Casino M8trix that I discovered what all of those other lavish, notably opulent casinos from Las Vegas to Monte Carlo have all been missing: namely, an aroma befitting a truly great casino. And that is the first thing one notices when walking through the doors of Casino M8trix, an aroma as unique and distinct as that of chocolate chip cookies baking in an oven, or fresh coffee brewed on a cold autumn morning, or the distinctive waft of pine from the family Christmas tree when returning home for the holidays. Except that the scent which Casino M8trix has mastered is that of a vagina with a yeast infection. Surely the designers must have proclaimed, early and often, that they were going for a sufficiently ‘yeasty vagina’ aroma to compliment the appearance of clinically depressed divorcees gambling away their disability checks around the various blackjack and Texas Hold em tables. And sirs, this review from an adoring fan of all vaginas, yeasty or otherwise (but mostly yeasty), commends you on a job very well done!

I used to come here for lunch on weekdays when I worked local, and I remember that everything on the menu was good, portions were fair (as were the prices) so when I found myself nearby with an early game to watch, I did not think twice (I should have) Breakfast is on the expensive side here, and the quality is poor. luckily, the portions are small, so you do not have to endure the food for long. $20 for breakfast in the Bay Area is not a challenge, but usually you get taste food and fair sized portions in that price range. When I got there, the place was empty. I was waited on quickly, and I ordered bacon & eggs with toast. I asked for an ice tea. The drink came immediately, and the food in about 10 minutes. Eggs, bacon & toast were cold, the hash browns were warm & greasy. The eggs were scrambled, but not big & fluffy, or anywhere near big enough for easy fork handling. The toast was half hard (melba style) and half un-toasted, and had a mediocre slathering of what tasted like a whipped butter substitute. It had not melted, so it was easy to spot. The hash browns, (while warm) where actually the least appetizing part of the meal, and looked as if they had been taken of a discarded plate. I will not be returning for breakfast, or any other meal.

My friend and I came here St. Pattys night to try and strike it rich! Were not gamblers, so it was our first time at this casino. He wanted to try a strategy his friend used in Vegas to win lots of dough off the video machines. Too bad they dont have any of those in M8trix. We thought their machines were on a different floor (since from the outside, it looked like a tall casino), so we tried the elevator. However, either were stupid and dont know how use an elevator or I think we need a key to travel to different floors. What kind of casino is this? No slot machines, no table top gaming. Its all card tables here people! The ambience was really quiet, too. Im not sure if its because people are too into their card game or if they were just really depressed at losing money. The only nice thing about this casino is that it doesnt smell of smoke. I was seriously expecting to get punched in the face by the smell of cigarette smoke , but that didnt happen. Whew. As for food, we tried Noodle Ba, which was really just some bad noodles. I know its not Vegas, but Ive been to better casinos in CA.

The Casino M8trix is not a casino at all!! It is merely a fancy card room with a couple of restaurants and a bar... If you go with that expectations perhaps they will squeeze a few more stars out of you than me. But friends wanted to play poker and that is not really my thing (not all night long anyway) So my plan was to entertain myself with other activities but besides poker, Pai Gow and black jack there isnt much else to do here. The food in the restaurant was decent and drinks were pretty good but unless you are a serious poker player and need to be here there are far better places to eat and drink. And being from San Francisco, I heard there are better places to play poker that are closer to the city. It was a 45 minute drive home from the M8trix! Check out Luck Chances instead, not as fancy but only a few minutes out of downtown.

Absolutely terrible. First of all, they make you pay for drinks by claiming they are a "card room" and not a casino. So after losing $30 on a few hands of blackjack a Corona on the house would be nice, right? Wrong. Six bucks for a cheap beer. Not to mention the fact that every hand of blackjack requires a $1 "fee to play." What the hell does that even mean? Ive never played at a place that required a fee on top of my initial bet. Its clear this place is just trying to take advantage of the fact that there arent any actual casinos within about a 100 mile radius of here. I will never come back here and I urge other people to do the same.

I have to admit first I am used to gambling in another state, so getting around California laws were a surprise that I found really annoying. About the casino itself, I felt like they were more concerned with bleeding everyone dry than they were being entertaining and fun. None of the employees even bothered to smile, most didnt even make eye contact. As a business owner I appreciate that this business is here to make a profit, but they are also here to provide a pleasurable experience. I will finish by saying I felt like I was paying for Nordstrom, but getting Walmart. The food and drinks are really overpriced as well

I dont gamble so I cant speak to that, but I go there occasionally for the food and the place has a lot more "class" than Bay101. Theres a bar, restaurant-type seating, and an all-night noodle bar, and a small deli. You can order any of the noodle bar or deli things at the bar, too. Itd be my first choice if I wanted to hang out, talk business, etc with someone in the wee hours, and we didnt feel like Dennys - this is a cut well above Dennys, naturally. Ive yet to dip a toe into the world of card playing, but if I do, this is where Id do it.
