Metropolitans newly-launched TV ad campaign includes the line "The course combines the look-and-feel of a Carnoustie with the challenges of a St Andrews or a Pebble Beach." Folks, let me tell you: Ive played both Carnoustie AND the Old Course, and to even include The Met in the SAME SENTENCE as those two courses is just about enough to make me puke. Its a VERY pedestrian links layout (though there are no "bad" holes), pace of play is ATROCIOUS (5:00 is the norm, 4:00 is almost unheard of), but the biggest problem is that CourseCo overwaters the course to no end. Youll be lucky to get even a yard of roll on the soggy fairways & there are plenty of areas where overwatering has turned grass completely into mud. Id guess that the fairways are a minimum of 1&1/2", which makes run-up shots and putts from anything more than a foot off the green impossible to play. The only redeeming factor of the entire course is the only grass driving range in the inner East Bay (which is closed in favor of mats on Tuesdays--a word to the wise.).

Good, but not great course. Much like the first some reviews have said- the course is heavily overwatered, but so are all east bay munis. The course doesnt seem to handle traffic well, but Ive played it in less than 4 hours- and walked off after 9 holes because it was slow. The front nine does play like a links style course- and will let you play short of the pin. The back 9 is a little bit different. 10 is a terrible hole, 14 isnt great, but the rest are pretty good. All in all- the course is one that can drive you crazy as you play it more. One time you will play it and just eat it up, the next time you begin to wonder if you know how to play golf at all. If you expecting Half Moon Bay- sorry- it isnt that. If youre looking for just a nice course on a weekday afternoon- this course is perfect.

Just like one of the previous postings ... my foursome was told that we were behind the pace of play on the par 3 15th hole. The Marshall requested that we pick up our balls and move to the 16th tee box . We were trying to stay with a threesome ahead of us while playing with a threesome behind us. According to the cart gps we were 5 minutes behind their desired 4.5 hour round while playing in the morning fog. We ended up finishing in 4 hrs 25 minutes. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with them ... too bad because the course layout is not bad. I wont be rushing back anytime soon.

Pro shop is garbage. I went to a Titleist Thursday fitting here. Left work early to do so as I needed a new driver before my Dad came for a golf trip. I made this very clear to them that I needed this club and I was going to pay more for expedited shipping. I called the next day (Friday) to confirm my order and make sure that they knew I needed expedite. Wednesday I called back to check on my club and the order "slipped through the cracks."

Review for the large tent-ish venue for events. Food wasnt exciting, portions were kind of small, service was fairly slow, and locale is alright but cant see much of a view even though its close to the water. Hope the golf course is a lot better for those who use it.

Great golf course for the price. Greens are always in excellent condition and the links style course is just that. Can be noisy from the planes landing at times but the overall experience is great.

Came here for a wedding and it was good. Didnt get to go beyond the walkways, but a good place for a smaller wedding. Didnt notice to much airplane noise being located right next to the airport.
