Difficulty: Med to Low Parking: Sufficient Dogs: Allowed on Leash Vox and I went to check out this park and arrived at 7.50am on a Sunday morning. The parking in the little parking area was already totally packed but we got 1 of two spots left. I was surprised to see so many people there so early! We took the hike up to the Nike Missile area and then checked that out. When we were done we continued following the trail for another .5 miles or so. i have no idea where it ends! The .8 miles are all up hill to the Nike area but its not too hard. If youre not an athelete and are semi-out of shape youll find it a fun challenge. There are other trails there that we didnt take. Im already planning when to go back and try out more trails.

Just to start the entrance to this park is not from Mulholland drive but the other side. One must drive on sunset BLVD and take a right 5 miles up. Google maps gave me the wrong direction because the road was blocked. Anyhow so for the hike itself, i parked on the Mandevile canyon road. It takes about 45 minute walk to the Nike missile site. You dont actually see the missiles. The 360 view is beautiful. One can see the valley. LA, downtown. and to be there by sunset is a must. the colors of the sky is unreal. really cool. I was there when there was a full moon so its cool to see that.

One of LAs hidden hiking gems. It doesnt show much on hot smoggy days, but come here on a clear day and youll be able to see almost all of the LA basin, and San Fernando Valley at the same time. A great place to come and admire the view, or as a starting point to hike the trails nearby. The Park is well taken care of, clean bathrooms, and I really dig the history associated with the park.

LA-96 and the surrounding environs are one of my favorite parts of Los Angeles. Greta views with shade, picnic tables, bathrooms and water make it a great spot for launching a venture or regrouping with a break while on an adventure. A really unique area, so beautiful and easily accessible.

Ein interessanter Ort an dem man bei einer schönen Aussicht ein Stück amerikanische Geschichte hautnah erleben kann.

Perhaps the most expansive view of the LA Basin and the San Fernando Valley. San Vicente Mountain Park and LA-96 is also a lesson in Americas Cold War past. If youre looking for a 30-minute detour or an awesome picnic spot, definitely go here.

This place has the best views! So many trails to choose from. Great for walking, running or biking and its pet friendly! The only reason it didnt get 5 stars is because of the roads- they can really mess up your car if youre not careful!

I love the Mountain Park. The Nike station is a very cool relic of the Cold War and, being right on dirt Mulholland, the park is connected for many miles to a variety of trails in every direction.

Cool spot, very close the freeway, but still a wilderness feel. The former cold war radar site is pretty interesting too!

One of the best places to get a great Mt Bike ride. This is a great workout and place for views and some single track.
