This place is amazing. First off, admission is free! They have maps on display going back to the late 1400s. The Museum is laid out in themes and geographic regions, including Colonization, California is an Island, Africa, Europe, Asia, world atlases, and The Holy Land. They also offer magnifying glasses so you can better see the detail on these maps. Each map is also complemented by captions that explain the significance of the map, how it was created, and why. The Museum also has a handful of objects, like a waywiser and and astroblabe. I chatted with the Museum Director and Assistant Director during my visit, and they are very knowledgeable. If you live in the area, this Museum is a must. We made a special trip from Phoenix, and it was totally worth it.

Cartes originales datant du Moyen Âge au début du 20e siècle. Autant locales que mondiales. Entrée gratuite avec contribution acceptée. Très belle collection.
