Everybody who is complaining about the fees and parking needs to chill out. Im sorry your car got towed. I can see how that would ruin your day. But there actually are plenty of signs and each parking lot has a big pay box right in the front and on weekends they have people stopping cars so they can collect the money. If Ive never been to a place before and I go in the lot and see this big box with a sign sticking up at the front of the lot, I take a minute to check it out. If I have been coming for years and I think I know how the deal goes, Id notice a big freaking sign was added since the last time Id been up and check it out. so either way, theres no excuse for not noticing. The fact is that the lake had to do something; they werent making enough money to cover the costs of caring for it. As a local, I was nervous about the new fees, but Im impressed with the way its being handled. $60/year for a parking permit if you come all the time like I do is cheap. More maintenance of trees and bushes that would crowd onto the walking path (and house homeless people or teenagers smoking pot before). The trash cans are emptied more often. And believe it or not, theres less dog poop. This lake is a gorgeous gem and the fees are what I would expect to pay at any park. The water is murky because its a lake. The sand stops so you can get to the natural floor of the lake. Yeah its gunky...its not a chlorinated swimming pool...sheesh...Im seriously over all these reviews complaining about lake gregory, which has needed someone to give it some tlc and charge fees more in alignment with what other parks would be charging. the lake is a huge part of my life and I hope it can be for you, too.

George H. I can hardly believe my ears, rumors that if we dont allow a corporate take over of Lake Gregory they will have to close it down, maybe drain it, fence it off. I know our government officials would not be so foolish to threaten the good citizens of Lake Gregory and the adjoining communities, after all we elect them and pay their salaries. Its our tax dollars and we decide the priorities when it comes right down to it. If we the citizens of San Bernardino want a Lake we all can enjoy with little or no fees and non-profit the balls in our court, all we have to do is remember we are the boss not the elected officials, they work for us. Take a moment right now to remember who was in office when Lake Gregory went to private hands, pass by their name on the voting ballet if it is still in private hands come next election. Very little complaint about corporate handouts, billions of dollars on bombs. Try to get a little money for a Lake which the citizens and their children can enjoy and its breaking the county budget. Having a free Lake is not communism or socialism or any ism many would tell you. Its the American people coming together to purchase what we cant afford separately, a Lake where our seniors on a pension can spend an afternoon, notice most of them are gone from the lake now. A place where our kids can stay out of trouble because they have something for free they can do. How do you put a price on doing the right thing? Lets take our Lake back, I am already tired of calling it their Lake.

If you search the Internet for Lake Gregory (trip advisor, yelp, this site) you will see a pattern. Consistently, people are not seeing the small, lightly colored parking signs and getting towed. Paying anywhere from $435-310, plus shady cab driver fees (the cab is a privately owned vehicle with no meter that charges $20 per person), and vowing never to come to Lake Gregory again. (The parking warnings are third or fourth on a small sign that carries other information. The parking is paid in envelopes. No automated machines. No attendant. Just extortion.) Even the locals are complaining that the lake is now operated by private companies just out to get a buck. As an example of this: when we were towed, a woman in a bright red sports car was parked in the lot calling to tattle on cars that didnt pay. The same car was parked in the towyard. Can you say inside job? Tourists and locals should not have to pay for greedy womens sports cars. Its a shame this beautiful area is ruined by such a scam. Crestine lost another tourists business today. Not the first, and until something is done about the private company, not the last. I am posting this on as many sites as possible in hopes that people will not fall victim to the same scam.

In the past it was a wonderful and affordable place to bring the whole family. Now it has been leased, sold out to a private operator exploiting our public resource for their own profit. They said they were not going to fence it but an invisible fence is already being erected as I right this. Local businesses posting signs limiting parking for shoppers only threating towing. This goes for the public library across from the lake also. We are being force to pay so this private operator can profit what was free outside of our tax dollars just a year ago. Again the people are paying more so the few can put more in their pockets. They are also planning to turn this lake into a carnival with bright colored floating devices destroying the natural beauty of the lake. Now you also outside of buying a fishing licence have to pay a fee to fish there. For so many seniors and disabled fishing was one of the last outdoor activities they could in the past enjoy. How sad once again the profit for the few win and the many of us loose. Some how take a moment and review your feelings on the loss of our lake to corporate America.

Great concept...horrible execution. Lot of fun inflatables to climb and bounce on but because of a 100 person limit in the "waterpark" area at one time you end up standing on hot sand in a waiting queue for what seems like forever. Its supposed to be 20 minute sessions but it seemed longer and then it takes more time to clear the area before the next group goes in. Be aware!! The "Life Guards" dont seem very well trained. We had a young man slice about a quarter size flap of skin on a sharp rock in the water. No big deal, I get it its a lake, but the Life Guard had a first aid pack with nothing but band aids. She then calls over another life guard who looks all of 13 who happens to have a bandage and a wrap. She the. Wraps his dirty wet foot in the wrap and asks ME if she should wrap the bandage to keep it from getting dirty. SMH.
