I have been bringing my kids here for four or five years and we really enjoyed it the first few years but as time has gone on I have noticed a steady decline in the cleanliness. We just left from there because I got up and started walking around with my son and I started to realize how dingy and dusty this place is now. Layers upon layers of dust cover the fake plants and stuffed animals that line the edge of the roof for the restrooms, and the floor looked to have dog hair or cat hair all over it. My main issue was the exposed end-piece to the sheet metal air duct which was rubbing against the top of the inflatable slide in the corner near the party room. I could see that the sharp sheet metal had been rubbing continuously on the slide as there were several long, dark marks. Now, I know the owner knows how sharp sheet metal is and how those sharp areas should not be near children however; if a child was to jump up while on the top part of the slide they could gash their head open. Or worse yet, the sharp end could cut a hole in the slide causing it to topple down on top on any children on the slide at the time. I read all the previous posts and saw that the owner stated the cost of business has gone up tremendously, but Im sorry that is no excuse for not using the utmost precaution when it comes to the safety of the children off whom you are making money. Oh, and by the way, the employee working today forgot to turn the sign to "open" so your establishment had been open for five hours with the "closed" sign lit. Also, when I informed her of the exposed end of sheet metal, she said "I know," and offered no explanation or apology. She wasnt necessarily rude, but she definitely didnt seem too concerned about the grievance.

I read the other reviews and I can see where some of them are coming from, however I am not sure why some of them are so harsh. First of all, I imagine it must be hard to have your own business and keep it running from day to day. That being said, the price is really amazing for what you get. My kids love this place! I get to sit back and relax while they wear themselves out. Pump it Up is near my house but i make the almost 20 minute drive to the wild because I feel overall we get more bang for our buck there. Pump it up has set hours that you can come in 3 days a week. The wild is open everyday and you can play all day if you want. While I do wish the wild was bigger- had more jumps- it does not seem to phase my kids which lets be honest, is whose opinion really matters. Sure there are some things I would add to the place like coffee and Wi-fi (please??) for the parents but again its not really important because my KIDS love it regardless. I go here at least once a week because it really is best break for a tired, busy mom. Also lastly, I found the owner to be very nice. He is there every time we go and I respect the fact that he has handled all the criticism on here in a nice and professional way. I hope you guys can expand and open a place in north bakersfield. by the way, this is a real review by a real mom. In fact, we are heading out the door to go there right now! thanks!

UPDATE 4/27/2012 - PLEASE READ: Before this honest review there were a total of eight reviews posted in TWO YEARS. Since posting this review there have been several reviews posted in DAYS. Obviously these positive reviews are bogus, and have without question been posted with the sole intent of burying this legitimate review. THIS IS WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY THESE ARE TERRIBLE, DISHONEST PEOPLE. THEY HAVE JUST PROVEN MY POINT. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS ABOVE THIS ONE, THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY BOGUS. P.S. To The Wild owners: If you continue this despicable, dishonest behavior and/or find a way to get this legitimate review deleted, I will post again, and I will post reviews for your business elsewhere, too. You have been warned. | Personal note: People just like you are whats wrong with this world. You make me nauseous. ********************************************************************************************************************************** Read the reviews. Many state that this is a terribly run business. One reviewer said they hated it there, wanted a refund, and was refused. This business is run by horrible, dishonest people. They are the worst of the worst. Truly. Please take my advice and STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS AND THESE TERRIBLE, DISHONEST PEOPLE.

Ok wow.... well after reading all this im going to actually make a post. I too served for ten years....I was alsi in law enforcement. What that has to do with taking kids to tgis place I have no idea. I appreciate all veterans alike but dont ever look for compassion because I served. That being said heres an honest opinion of the center. It is kind of small, the employees I have encountered there sometimes arent paying attention...usually durfing the internet with her boyfriend there. Even answering the pgone they have been rude when I jusy call to make sure theyre open....I have drove all the way there from the north east and they were closed for parties. Sometimes its gross when there are sick kids running around or they need a diaper change but kind of comes with the territory. All that being said the review is about the place and for the price and how the kids enjoy it I would say its worth trying. If you dont like it....dont go back. I go back and have a lot because my kids enjoy it. It would be nice to be bigger have more stuff maybe better service, definitely wifi and more adult stuff but we cant have everything can we. I rank it 4 out of 5 for all that. Again its worth s shot and what do yoy have to lose....8 bucks

This place seems to be going downhill lately. Im wondering if they changed the owner. There used to be some friendly girls working the front desk but the last 2 times Ive been there the older lady working is not friendly at all. Not so much as a smile or a welcome and she was just surfing the web the whole time. She did look up when we were leaving offering a blank stare not returning our goodbye. Assuming this is not the owner Im offering the feedback for their information. I would be more careful with who I employ. This place is slightly dull and impersonal yet its the only place of its kind in Bakersfield and it does have some potential. However, I have noticed there are less and less people so maybe this is not just my own experience.

Best bounce for the Buck! My kids LOVE going to The Wild, and recently my son who was turning 10 begged me to have his birthday party there. He and his friends and siblings had a great time and smiled the entire time we were there. The party room was all set up and decorated for us and was just perfect. Pizza and cake and lots of bouncing - I think the simplicity of it is part of the draw for my kids. Just a great place to run around with friends and be wild. And the moms all enjoyed visiting in the sitting area while being able to watch their kids. Thanks for the great party.
