It is a magical place. Around 700 motorcycles on display at any given time. 144,000 square feet of wonderfully designed displays featuring bikes from every era and discipline. From recent customs to the very oldest bikes that exist, literally motor driven bicycles. It also houses the largest Lotus collection (Cars) in the world. There is a small snack area but do not expect to eat there. Tip: if you have the time the guided tours are well worth the extra 15 dollars, especially if you are in to bikes. Ive been dozen of times (member) and will go a hundred or more if I live long enough. It is a wonder and a legitimate source of pride for a city that is more notorious historically for chaos and hate. BVMM lifts up Birmingham and gives it a true attraction that anyone in the world should be able to appreciate.

I reckon any motorcycle enthusiast could die happy after visiting this - apparently the largest motorcycle museum in the world? Walking around I just found myself going Oh my God and (expletive deleted) constantly as I came upon another and another perfect best ever example of a bike I lusted after in my younger daze - I think I only counted maybe 6 Vincents including a Black Lighting exact replica - but. most Americans didnt linger there - they were more interested in the complete history of Harley Davidson and Indian in perfect examples. Suffice to say - if you like motorbikes, you Really want to come here! Other stuff - oh - the complete set of racing Lotus cars - world champion Formula 1 cars - I thought I even glimpsed one of those rarest $25M Ferraris - so yeah stuff to look at - (groan)!!!

If you are a gearhead and motorcycle enthusiast this place is Nirvana!! Best most complete collection of motorcycles on the planet. Best docent tour anywhere.!!!. Our guide new every bike on display (600+ bikes) down to the carb needle size. They have a representative ( working motorcycle) of every bike and motorcycle development from the late 1800s to date. We spent 5+ hours and had to quit because our brains hurt from all the info. The grounds and building are a work of art and we spent 20 mins just watching the Porshe racing class work on the great racetrack in back of the museum. Worth a trip to Birmingham from anywhere in the world for a true motorcycle lover. PS. also an incredible collection of Lotuss. And classic outboard motors. Who knew?!!!!

I went by the park today and I wanted to do a fly over and take a video of the whole field with my Phantom 2 Quad copter to post on my Google+ page and my Facebook page. I waited for about 10 minutes which undoubtedly they were discussing the options behind closed doors. Finally a young fellow came out a greeted me and stated that it was policy that no one could fly over the property with any type of remote controlled device. This was in the dead of day with nothing happening other than the Museum being open. So it brings me to wonder what are they hiding that they wont allow the public to see. Otherwise, I cant think of any reason why they would not want it because of the free publicity that it would bring. Hmmm, I wonder ....

Amazing collection of motorcycles and its a must see attraction for anyone in to motorsports. Its overwhelming walking in and seeing the hundreds of motorcycles from throughout history. We only had an hour before it closed but it felt like I could have spent all day walking around in there. Watching the cars on the track was pretty cool too. My only complaint is that youre not allowed to go to the bottom floor which has a lot of cool cars, its understandable though, there are some pretty pricey cars down there. Ill end up going again eventually so I have more time to enjoy all the bikes.

I just moved to Alabama from New York and I work at the Hampton Inn right across the street from the museum. Both colleagues, and guests have raved to me about the museum so I HAD to check it out. Mind you, Im not a motorcycle enthusiast, however Ive always been one to give credit where its due. This museum is really cool. its amazing that 99% of the motorcycles actually still run too. They have a model T car (The first car ever made) and a bunch of other cars to get up close to (without touching of course). I will definitely return, and recommend to other.

Excellent facilities, beautiful landscaping and scenery, and a very safe track (even for children). My family has been going to the track for more years than I can count (sport bike racing) and have never been disappointed!! Great place to camp and enjoy the events. The museum is like no other and is well worth the money. This is a place that no matter what the event you may be attending or for whatever reason, you will not be disappointed in any way! Mr Barber really out did himself and all of the staff are more than kind, courteous, and helpful. Enjoy....

I cant say enough amazing things about Barber. We visited here today & it was truly amazing. After starting on the 5th floor & making our way down I wound up with over 90 photos of phenomenal works of art, which is what they really felt like! We spent hours here checking out all the bikes from the very oldest to the newest Kawi supercharged H2 and H2R, the Lotus collection, & even a couple scooters. My favorite were a couple of military motorcycles the Germans used during Rommels push through North Africa campaign. If you get a chance, go!

While this museum is -- bar none -- the finest motorcycle museum that Ive ever seen, it isnt just for enthusiasts. My wife would usually be as interested in a motorcycle museum as I would in a quilt museum, but she actually found this absorbing. Not only is there an incomparable collection of historically significant motorcycles, including some that I thought that Id never see (such as the Brittens), but it is well thought out, and so beautifully presented then even a casual observer can find something interesting. Bravo!

If you own a motorcycle (or even like them) and havent been here then you are a moron. Ive been more than once. They change out bikes so you have to see the new stuff, plus they hold events and races a lot that you can come watch, camp out for, have swap meets, etc. Each year their camping for the Vintage Festival gets more sophisticated. They even had hot shower trailers on the campsites! The only thing left to do is go around the track in anger. Hopefully this coming summer I can get out there on a track day.

I found the entire visit amazing. Many of the exibits took me back to great memories, primarily in the 80s with myself and friends who owned these classics which they were not ever thought to be classics 30 years ago. The 20s and 30s era bikes were georgeous. Board track racers tuff stuff and I have to admit the MV Agusta 750 Super Sport on display is the Holy Grail of sport bikes in my opinion. Worth the trip to see this. Next trip here will be to an event to see the race track facility and visit the museum again.
