I called early one Thursday morning to see what the hours were for the indoor pool area. I was told that the evening hours were 4-9. About 4:40 I showed up with my three year old little girl who was so excited and had been looking forward to it all week. We were told after taking the full payment from my credit card that we only had about 20 min before they were shutting down for two hours for a swim lesson. I was livid! They didnt offer to do anything as far as paying back or anything else. We did our little 20 min swim then left the area to check out the rest of the place. The entire place was ran by a gang of teenagers. We went into the game-room which by the way looks amazing on the website but is a little room with two old T.V.s and a couple game consoles. A teen-age boy running the room quite rudely tells me "Excuse me, you cant leave children in here". I wasnt even anywhere near leaving my child in there! The indoor pool area was really nice though and the other people there were very nice, the staff I really felt like they didnt want their job or were unhappy not enthusiastic or apologetic at all. I may give it one more try and voice my opinion about the experience to management to see what they will say, other-wise I stand by my rating.

My daughter and I just started going here, and have enjoyed it for the most part. shes young so we generally use the childrens spray area at the pool. I was given a pool hours schedule and have gone during the times that the area says its open. But everytime Ive gone, its been closed.. Even when the schedule says its open and Ive called ahead to make sure a few times. Each time I have to approach the staff in the pool office and Ive been told several times is will open soon. An example would be I went on a Tuesdays and I arrived at 3 and I was told by one of the guards the kids area wouldnt open till 4. Thats not what the schedule says. I dont like that each time I go I have to mention to the guards about opening the kids area when it says right on the schedule it should be opened. Also, the guards are not very personable and friendly, because when I have approached them Ive been shrugged off and laughed at behind closed doors for saying something. You can obviously tell they dont enjoy their jobs, which is disappointing because its a kid friendly area.

I am not a very happy member right now and am seriously thinking about canceling my membership and going elsewhere. The reason being is their pool hours. They close the fricken pool area from 1-4 PM everyday. When asked why they shrugged it off. I am a night shift worker so the afternoon is when I usually like to work out but can never use the pool area. Last Tuesday evening I took my children to go swimming only to find out the pool was shut down for 2 hours for swim lessons. Not happy about it at all. The only plus is the cost of the membership-it is very reasonable. However at this point though I am highly considering going back to the RAC and paying $120/month for a membership because at least you are able to use the pool when you need to and their lap lanes are bigger too. The lap lanes at Green Ridge are pitiful!

We paid $230 for a party at Green Ridge, but were not allowed to use the facilities. We were also not provided the food we purchased for more than two hours. There was very little customer service and no one knew what procedures to follow, they just wanted us to leave. There was distant lightening so I can understand not having use of the pool we paid to access, but to not allow us to pay an additional amount to use the game room or gym during a small thunder shower for the fourteen children in our party is reprehensible and irresponsible and makes me ashamed as a citizen of Roanoke County that these staff are my public servants. The county staff requested that we evacuate 14 young children to the parking lot during the same thunder shower.

This is a very nice, useful facility. I enjoy visiting here, though there are a few problems/concerns which need to be fixed as soon as possible. First of all, the facility needs to be open longer on the weekends, especially Saturday. Personally, this is one of the only quality basketball gyms in the Roanoke area, and the facility isnt even open long enough to allow people to utilize it and other resources within the building. Here are my suggestions for the weekend hours... Saturday: 8 am-8:30 pm, Sunday: 10 am- 7:30pm. Notice I only adjusted the closing times. I would very much appreciate this being proposed for change. Thank you.

As of 9/25/2016 I will no longer step foot on the property. I had my daughterschedule party there last night. I was unable to get into the party room when I was supposed to. I was rudely told that my guest needed to get out of the pool. Our food that was pretty ordered through green Ridge was 30 minutes late. As the kids started eat we were told that we needed to hurry up because they were "getting ready to close" . Then 5 minutes before we left one of the employees had the nerve to tell my 5 year old that she needed to leave because they were closing. My daughters birthday was ruined because of your staff.

I love coming to play basketball at Greenridge but the courts are always overrun with middle schoolers or teenagers. I think there should be an adults only time like from 5-6, 6-7 or something along the lines of that. Its nearly impossible to play because there are so many people on the courts. Maybe there should be a adults on one courts and younger kids and teenagers on the other court.

I visited Green Ridge Recreation Center today as a guest and after thinking about joining as a member, the staff were not real friendly at all, the hot tub was real dirty, and when I went to take a shower, all the shower curtains had lots of Mold on them, This is not good at all!! I am truly having second thoughts about joining, hope they take care of it for the sake of everyones health.

Indoor pool not suitable for serious swimming. Lap area consists of two 15-20 yard wall lanes where you constantly have to dodge children crossing from the recreational area. Water is over-chlorinated. Indoor pool closes during thunderstorms. Maybe fine to take the kids to splash around, but if youre looking to get in a swim workout, look elsewhere.

Whats not to like? Two full-size basketball courts, racquetball courts, child care centers, fully-equipped exercise room, running track, indoor pool with lazy river, locker rooms with showers, training classrooms, regular and varying classes offered, helpful and courteous staff, everything is clean, and it costs less than the YMCA.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, the facility is CLEAN, and they are so many options to exercise. They have a track, basketball court, gym with machines and weights, a pool and so many classes. They have childcare for members, I only wish they had more active/physical activites for the children while they are there.
