Costs $1.00 per person. Beautiful. Clean. Tons of nature walks. Bike pathways. You can rent a bike, paddleboat, or Canon for an hour or a day. Has a clean snack bar. Extremely friendly employees. Playground, water playground, dog park, picnic tables everywhere. Pavilions to rent. Clean restrooms in more than 1 location. Great places to play tag football or other such games. Bike paths seemed newly paved. In the front of the park before entering there is a good size water park. Next year when we go back we are going to go to the water park than bring a picnic lunch. It truly is a beautiful place. Wish I had one near me. We saw one good size gator while walking around lake. He was across the water away from us. Didnt feel like a threat at the time.

Wannamaker is a large, beautiful park on the western edge of North Charleston. As one of the five parks in the Charleston County Park System, it also charges a small fee at the gate. We bought the annual pass. Wannamaker is primarily a walking park with dozens of miles of trails, some paved and some natural with small bridges to keep your feet dry. There is a good sized playground, a splash pad for the summer, wide grass areas, paddle boat rental, gazebos, and many other amenities. I most appreciate the quiet parts of the park. You can reach the back trails easily from Wannamaker Trails North, in Goose Creek off of Westview. Wannamaker makes me remember how beautiful South Carolina can be.

What a fun, family-friendly park. We had been to Whirling Waters numerous times. However, this was the first time we went in the county park part. It is very lovely. And it has a newer concessions stand and facilities in the park center. It has a good playground, but the equipment could be updated more like James Island. The best part is that it is completely covered in shade. There is also a splash fountain area for children. We loved the trails and the peddle boats. We counted 8 turtles while we peddled. There are lots of picnic areas for rent or free. We will go back.

Good place for taking toodlers and dogs. You can do alot of things in this park. From biking to just walking. They have a splash water, good for the hot weather. You can smell the chlorine sometimes, but they keep the park very clean. Also, the whole park is under trees what is a nice feature. The only thing I dont like is that the playground are in grabble and babies or infants cant crawl or stand up without having a good grip. No talking about the chocking hazard when they try to eat the little stones...

This park is like a second home to me and my children. During the fall and winter we enjoy the walking trails and the playground. During the spring we have picnics. And during the summer we get passes for Whirlin Waters and go to the sprinklers. We have had birthday parties and family reunions here! I am so happy that we live only minutes away from this beautiful park.

Wanamaker is a jewel for the families in the North Charleston Area, it has few trails ideal for an afternoon walk, or for riding your bicycle. No bike? You can rent one inside the park. This park also has swimming pools, playgrounds, picnic areas and even a dog park. You also can bring your rod to fish in the ponds. There is an access fee, as 2016 it is $2 per person.

Love the dog park! For $1/person its nice to be able to go somewhere thats safe, well kept, and has a great spot to let your dog roam. The only thing Id advise dog owners to know is that the left side of the dog park by the water fountain gets awful muddy so be prepared to deal with a bit of mud. Other than that, great spot!

The last weekend of the summer season they open the waterpark to dogs. It is so much fun, my dogs LOVE it. There must be over a thousand dogs there and they are all so busy having fun, there are no fights!! All the pet parents keep an eye on all the dogs. Its one of my favorite days of the year. Thanks for doing that.

This is a great county park with lots to do, they have a dog park, which stays pretty busy, they have seperate sections for smaller dogs and larger dogs. They also have a nice play area for children, a small lake that you can rent paddle boats and kayaks on. And lots of great walking and biking trails.

We love Charleston County parks and this park is always great. If you come during summer Whirling Waters is a super fun way to spend a day with the kids. Also there is always room for a birthday party, clean restrooms, and ample parking. The kids big amd small also love the "Big Hill".

ALWAYS love visiting Wannamaker! We love Whirlin waters! The kids can spend all day there and never want to leave! Just recently went with my son and his class on there 1st grade field trip on a nature walk and to play in the sprinklers! The whole class had an amazing time!

Great place to laugh at the kids and big kids come down a giant hill. A lot of space for your kids to run around freely during the summer the big sprinklers are on and the grills are open year round unless someone beats you to it of course but there is plenty for everyone

Decent park where you can play on the playground and walk a trail. The dog park is a large fenced in yard but doesnt have anything special. Would like the trails to be kept better and and more care to the dog park. May be worked on later since it is winter now.

Wannamaker is a nice, fun-filled park for children to explore and enjoy while at play. Theres also a water park to add to your fun and an exciting experience for the kids. The walking trail is my favorite to run and exercise, or to just take a nice stroll.

Great large dog Park. 2 separate area one for smaller dogs and another of larger dogs guests are really good about picking up after their pets and generally friendly place to be. Also there are several walking and biking friendly trails as well

Great place for families and dogs. Cost is a little high for a state park, they charge per person verses per car. The water park is too expensive for families of medium income. But other than price its a great all day family outing getaway.

Nice park with some good amenities. The splash pad could use some supervision. Adults should not be allowed to wallow on the ground in the sprinkler areas. Older kids and adults should not be allowed to sit on top of water geysers.

A wonderful place to spend the day with the kids, having a picnic with some friends, or taking a brisk walk around their many walking paths. I would highly recommend this sprawling park if you are in the area!
