Always walk past this place occasionally when Im down on West Main and I kind of wish I kept walking. Decided to stop by here and eat earlier today and its not really anything special. The chicken sandwich I had literally had no seasoning so it tasted really bland and the fries tasted like old grease.Im not even a picky eater either its just very meh. Not to mention that the owner/manager whoever she was, was kind of rude when I asked for the check. She just reached for my card didnt say anything came back and left the receipt on the table with a pen and walked away with not a word spoken. Kind of weird and unpersonable..she seemed more interested in chatting at the bar with regulars than providing good service. Needless to say Im not coming back for 14$ I could have done better.

Make no mistake hot dog lovers, this is a bar and not a hot dog destination. The chili on the Richmond dog was worse than Hormel canned chili. The coleslaw on the Carolina dog tasted like it came from a bucket at Wal mart. The pickles on the Chicago dogs were limp. Absolutely no love was put into my food at all. Also, the tots must have had a pound of salt dumped on them. My table couldnt even finish them they were so smothered in it. If youre looking for a weekend college bar to pick up someone for the night.... Sure. However, dont buy youre food here.

The service was great, plenty of TVs to catch any games you may want to watch and an open atmosphere. The price of the hot dogs is a bit much considering it is only a hot dog, but to be perfectly honest, it should be expected considering the amount of toppings you get and that it is located in the Fan. $7 for a beer and shot. Magic Hat and a shot of Jameson? Yes please. I would recommend to this place to friends and family. People should keep in mind that this is located close to the VCU campus so a college atmosphere should be expected.

This establishment was the WORST in Richmond. I am a resident in the fan, and the service I had was terrible. It is managed by people not knowing the restaurant business. The "owners daughter" presented herself in the most provocative outfit I had ever seen...she was 3 times the size someone wearing her outfit should be wearing. Her attitude and customer service OBVIOUSLY showed she did not know how to run business.. This place will close soon... guaranteed. Not to mention the food tasted much like dog food would.

For a place that specializes in hotdogs, youd think theyd have decent size hotdogs. These are smaller than hotdogs from the store. Its too bad, I wanted to see what a big fancy dog was like. Instead I just got a hotdog. They do have toppings at least, not enough for a place that specializes in hotdogs though. Nothing really makes these hotdogs any better than normal hotdogs. I would say you get what you pay for but hotdogs are really cheap so for these prices they should be dank.

Ive gone here for three years, every Tuesday (one-dollar hot dogs). I could count on one hand the number of Tuesdays I missed in that time. This will always be one of my favorite places. I only wish I still lived close enough to frequent it. The wait staff is always top-notch and the atmosphere is very relaxing and down-to-earth. Food 9/10 Service 10/10 Food Quantity 10/10 Prices 9/10 Beverages 9/10 Atmosphere 10/10

went with a large group on a Monday night, our waitress greeted us and helped us move tables to accommodate our size. The daily special was $5 dog & draft. I ordered the carolina dog (hot dog w bbq and slaw) and it was delicious. They had hard cider on tap which was a big plus for me. Cheap, good meal.

Family owned and operated. Food is always fresh, nothing is ever frozen. They make their own fries and Cole slaw. Chicago dog is really good. They actually get the toppings from Chicago. Staff is very good, great service, great food. Music on weekends, lively conversation, fun place to hang.

The food and service were both excellent!! The hot dogs were delicious and everything was fresh. The chili cheese tots were absolutely amazing! The service was also great. Our server was very friendly and courteous and very efficient. Everything was great.

Known for the variety of its hot dogs, but lets face it -- many go here to drink. Its a comfortable place to grab cheap food, though, even if you arent a drinker. Live music some evenings, though the awkward space doesnt accommodate it very well.

This is a wonderful venue for small intimate concerts. Great seats all over the room. Sound is perfect as it is an old high school auditorium. Two bars one that leads to the outside and one up stairs as you go into the auditorium.

Tiny little place in a great location. Walking distance from many other watering holes, lots of awesome and free live music throughout the week. Food and drink specials every day GET THE CORN DOG NUGGETS!!!

Love this place. Easy to get to, lots of choices, great vibe (music, staff, etc.), & you can eat a good lunch for under $10 easily. Corn dog nuggets are delish. Vegetarian options available.

This place has fantastic corn dog nuggets and wonderful cheese tots. I havent tried their hot dogs yet but I have heard good things. Best part about City Dogs? They serve Natty Boh on tap!

Waitress and bartender both had a nasty attitude. Poor service and mediocre food. Certainly nothing Id go back for. Not for those that enjoy good service for your money or a friendly face!

City dogs provides a sports bar/college bar vibe and solid hot dogs. Theres live music most weekends and beer specials throughout the week. Not a bad place to grab a beer and some food.

Been going here for a couple weeks and love it. Great dogs, burgers and drinks. The reviews about sushi are for the wrong place or are fake as they do not serve sushi.

Got a platter 2 chilli dogs fries and onion rings togo. It was all old. Looked like the grease should have been changed a few days ago and dogs tasted old.
