I am giving a star for what Mother of Nature has provided, this place is amazing. However, the service and the tour earn 0 star. I wish I could get my money back. Very disappointed with the service and the tour, poorly planned. The greedy operators of the place allow more people than the actual capacity of the cave get in at once. Imagine being in there with 100s of people around you who are talking, taking pictures, touching the formations, and their crying kids and babies. My husband and I took a short cut and left the cave. I think if they are REALLY planning to save the cave for many more years to come they should stop letting all those visitors to get in at once and touch things, Greedy people. Once we got out, I asked them about this unorganized program and no tour guide. The answer was because of Holiday weekend so the tour guide were stationed around the cave to answer questions or explain things, so no actual tour guide was traveling with the visitors. We paid for the regular admission but did not get the regular tour, greedy people could have sold less tickets to make the visit more pleasant. I even asked one the cavern associates to remind people over and over to not touch the formation. I think the operators of the place are only worry about the amount of profit they can make today and not worry about the future generations. To be honest the tour at the Natural Bridge cavern was way too organized, our tour guide was amazing, he was very knowledgeable about the history of the cave and the formations. We thought since this place was bigger it would be even better but it was not. Such an unpleasant experience.

This is well "Oiled" established is a fantastic cave system to visit and Ill recommend it to anyone interested in some wholesome family fun; or just hanging out with friends. The good: Really lovely staff. They are courteous, friendly and knowledgable. The price point is reasonable and the experience is memorable. The organ in the cave is both a surprise and point of concern for me, but it was entertaining. It sounded like steel pan music from the Caribbean or the Hangdrums you hear throughout Europe. Having guides station at different points along the path in the cave is a great inclusion and very helpful. They really know there stuff. The bad: At the time that i went the line to get in was really long and moved pretty slowly. They photograph you in front a green screen before you enter and provided not explanation as to why. You find out at the end that your photo is superimposed into a cave setting. While this might work for others it did not for me, because they encourage you to find you photo at the end; get you all excited a tell you to pay $30 or some dollar amount for it. I think thats shady. What can improve: shortening the wait time in the lines would help. Giving people the option to have their picture taken would make for a better experience for some. Also having a map of the cave systems would be nice (maybe I missed it). Your experience may not be the same, but the Caverns are still worth every penny to enter. PS: Any more free service advice would be unfair.

I would love to rate the caverns 5 stars, but the management is so poor that I cant recommend a visit. To start, its pricy for the tour, $26 dollars per adult when we visited. My girlfriend and I wanted to take our time and enjoy the caverns, but we were quickly disappointed to find that we had to be with the group the entire time. The group was clearly too large for the narrow walkways, so that only the first half-dozen people could hear the guide well in some areas. We had a rather rude tour guide that seemed to be in a hurry. What was disgusting was the way they hurry people along in the tours: They turn off the lights in the rear so people stay with the group! My girlfriend was not feeling well and we fell a bit behind. Just think about our experience as she is trying to catch some air and the lights turn off in the caverns around us-Not fun. A stranger from our group saw us and kindly told the tour guide to please stop turning off the lights. An hour or so of this unfortunate experience ends straight into the overpriced gift shop. Overall, its a sad money grab that is just exploiting nature for profit.

Passeio bom.

Our family went to the Outer Banks, NC and we decided to stop here on our way back home so our youngest granddaughter could experience the cavern. She loved it as well as the adults. We also took her to the sleuth so she could pan for stones and she came home with a great selection of stones! She was so excited as well as us with what they had in her bag to find! The one drawback was the photo that they take of each group before going down into the Caverns. I wished I had taken more time to look at them closely. The young lady that was taking pictures at the time seemed to have an attitude going. (Loss of star) She gave us indications that she was taking our pictures but it was odd that three out of the four of us looked like we werent ready when she took our pictures. My only guess is that she snapped the shutter before she indicated that she was. I specifically remember on both photos, of smiling and yet the photos we were presented none of us were smiling. So make sure you look before buying this over priced packet!!!

Ive been to Luray with family and visitors so many times. Besides incompetent guides, Ive enjoyed the caverns itself. However, our past two times we have gone have not been good. Last time we went, I took my grandmother with me. Before we purchased the tickets, we asked if there was a wheelchair down there in case she got tired or in pain. One of the employees assured us that there is one. When we got down, we saw one that an older gentleman was using and when he was finished, we asked if we could use it. One worker came and took it to put it in the storage area and said that we could not use it. When asking why, he said "we dont have these services." My brother said we had seen someone use it and the worker said "its only for emergencies. We spoke to the manager and the manager said "sorry, we cannot help you." My grandmother has a heart condition and we ended up cutting the tour and going back without any compensation. If you are going to advertise something, then you have to support it.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with a trip to these beautiful caverns. We were looking for something that had stood the test of time and the caverns certainly have! Their beauty and wonder formed over billions of years is a true natural treasure. Our guide Anissa was informative, asked often if we had questions and was patient with stragglers. The Car and Carriage museum was also enjoyable with many more cars on display than you would think. Admission is included to that and the Luray museum with the cost of admission to the caverns. There are also a rope park adventure and a garden maze which we chose not to visit but they are NOT included in that admission. We had lunch on the grounds and thought it expensive so if coming with small children I would pack a lunch. We saw lots of kids participating in panning for gold at the sluice behind the Luray Museum and they were smiling and seemed to be having fun. Overall it was a fun trip for us as well as for families.
