A place where the railroad, the C&O canal, and the National Road all came together. There is a replica Canal boat nearby, and the remains of several others are buried beneath the ground. You can catch a ride on the Western Maryland Scenic Railway. There is also a monument on the lawn dedicated to the Irish canal and railroad workers. Outside the station, on the concourse, there is a metal monument to the Western Maryland Railway servicemen of World War 1. Cross the pedestrial bridge to visit Riverside Park and George Washingtons cabin. Interstate-68, successor to the National Road, is overhead on the road bridge. A marker for the start of the National Road is in a small grassy area, in fron of the Blue Bridge, leading to Ridgeley, WV. Easily walk-able from the cabin.
