I purchased this as part of a Living Social deal, which gave you a round of golf and a "build your own sandwich fare" for two people. It was a no brainer, food + golf = great day. This was the wording on the deal: "After getting a reality check on your handicap, head over to Creekside Grille where high ceilings and chandeliers accompany the build-your-own sandwich fare" Well that isnt what you got. You received a hot dog and a soda, with no option to change it. Sorry for you vegetarians, Chisel Creek dont give a crap about you. Even when I offered to pay the difference in price between a Waffle at $3.00 over the $2.50 hot dog, I was told that wasnt possible. As for the course, some holes were better maintained than others. If you are a beginner or a slice golfer, bring a lot of balls because the narrow fairways will surely gargle your balls. I think the only plus were the greens were in excellent condition. I would not play here again unless I received some sort of discount or deal because 50 bucks is way too high to pay for this course.

I always enjoyed playing this course, short enough (6100 from blue Ts) but plenty of troubles to screw up your scores, i.e. No. 3 island green, No. 4 T-shot from blue which is impossible for me, its a very demanding T shot, No. 7 par-5 where proper landing with club selection is the key, No. 12 par-4 which requires a long and straight T shot, No. 18 par-5 which requires a perfect T shot and a perfect 2nd shot for a birdie chance (no, I dont have that chance, par a few times but never birdie that # 18). A few yrs ago they let that course go down the hill, so I stopped playing there... New team came in and AT LEAST they did a great jobs fixing the greens... Fairways are still spotty and they are working on them. Greens are challenging to putt... I enjoy this course now,,, great for honing in your golf skills... I would not be surprised that within a yr or two I would give it a 5-star rating for value and a great course to play

It really is in much better shape than it was a couple years ago. I played it a few weeks ago and was surprised at the quality of the grass in the fairways and greens - - rough was still a bit spotty in some areas. Greens were a reasonable speed and rolled pretty true. I would rate conditioning better than Delcastle and way better than Porkys. I was shocked when I saw the range had good grass in the teeing area - - it always used to be crabgrass - - this is much better than the range at Inniscrone. Course is short and the yardages are inflated but most of the holes are fun to play. Overall, it seems to be priced appropriately.

I think Chisel Creek is a great place. The staff is always very friendly... and the course is in good shape. Its been a dry summer, so some of the fairways are getting hard, but besides that... the course was excellent. The greens were great. I dont like hole #7, that hole is a poor design, but the course is fun to play. I think Chisel Creek is one of the best values around. Its very reasonably priced... actually cheaper than most courses in the area, and if you sign up for email specials, they have a lot of discounts. Overall... i would reccomend Chisel Creek to anyone.

Absolutely Love this Golf Course!! Feels like home...People are very nice and hospitable, from the owner all the way down to the cart girls!! Very reasonable rates!! I heard that they got a new superintendent a while back and man is he doing a great job!! The course is in great shape and the greens are rolling fast and true!! If your looking for a great place to spend a day golfing or to host your next golf outing look no further... this is it!! Five stars all the way!!

played this course on 9/5/10 and the course was in awful shape. it looks like they have definitely had some trouble maintaining this course. most of the holes, with several exceptions, had crab grass teeboxes, large patches of mud and no grass for several yards at a time in the middle of the fairway, and recently aerated greens that need to be completely replaced. My guess is that the superintendents job is available here.

I consider this to be a "good" golf course. Its middle of the pack with all the courses in the 20 mile Wilmington, DE radius. Its a step above Del Castle & Ed Oliver (not all holes have open fairways where if you miss youre still fine).. also more challenging. Not as tough as say White Clay. Def. Worth the $35 range. Ive played 3 xs in the last year and the course is in good shape with some challenging holes.

This course is in terrible shape. Bare spots on greens and fairways. Crabgrass, dandelions and clover everywhere. Sand traps have stones in the sand. My kid has better sand in his sandbox. This course is a disaster and has steadily declined over the past 3 years. It used to be a bargain but I have to strongly recommend playing a different course.

This course was soooo bad. The layout is not that bad, but the conditions were absolutely awful. I really think that I could have maintained this course better with zero knowledge of greenskeeping. They should have charged $20 for a full round and not a penny more. Even at that rate, I still would have bitched about the conditions.

This course was a total let down this year, terribly kept, couldnt believe the tee boxes were longer then the rough, used to be a big fan of chisel creek, save your money and go mini golfing instead! The starter drove through the middle of the fairway twice while we were teeing off. If I could give less then one star I would. :(

Have been playing Chisel since 2004 but because of knee problems hadnt played since 2011 until last week and was pleasantly surprised by the course condition. Although my game was ugly after a three year layoff, I cant blame it on the course. Ill be back again soon. Keep up the good work.

This was my first time at Chisel Creek and I thought it was great! Im new to the game of golf and found the staff to be friendly and very helpful! The course was in good shape and I will for sure head back for more rounds in the near future especially with these mild January days!!

The course is in awful condition. The tee boxes are hard as a rock, the fairways are brown and bare as well as the greens. I have never seen such a poorly maintained course. The green fees are ridicoulus for how awful this course is. Only redeeming quality is that it is byob.

Greens were alright... Pin placements were difficult given the rest of the courses mediocre conditions. Players here need to be respectful of the course and repair their ball marks on the greens because the greens are about all this place has going for it.

What a shame. Used to be in great condition and a fun place to play. The fairways are totally burned out and the greens are slow as can be. Unsure if irrigation is present, but if so its not being turned on. What happended to this place?
