This past Saturday was the first time I visited the River City Blues Club, and although it wasnt quite what I was expecting, I was still impressed. My wife and I got the hush puppies to start, she got the fish and chips, and I had the yard bird sandwich. All of the food was great, and the prices werent too bad. There were a lot of drink specials, so we got $4 captain morgan and cokes. They also have a lot of beer on tap. Jonathan Ragonese & Steve Rudolph Trio started playing live jazz around 8:00. The music was great, and the atmosphere was nice. It was a dimly lit room, with candles on each of the small tables creating a nice, intimate atmosphere. In addition to the tables, there is a large amount of seating by way of a low couch stretching across the back and one side of the club. I definitely recommend going.

Dont write it off as just a blues club. I would compare it to a smaller version of BB Kings place in Times Square. Kings venue hosts a diverse list of acts from punk to country and Ive never been disappointed there. Whoever is running River City must know what is going on in the big apple and doing a damn good job of making it happen in Harrisburg.

The River City Big Band is on point! One of the finest musical performances weve had the pleasure to enjoy. We were extremely pleased that close friends shared such a great experience with us. The food was excellent. We anticipated mediocre but were definitely surprised this wasnt the usual run of the mill, dumbed down bar food!

The music and atmosphere was ok but the food was terrible! We ordered the beef brisket sandwich; it tasted like ironed leather. The smoked chicken sandwich wasnt any better. The only flavor was from the bbq sauce that was on the side. Very disappointing

Best Dart Bar/Hangout-Lounge ever been too! Some nights more crowded than others, but overall pretty lively crowds. I dont frequent the downstairs night club too often, but the food is simple and good, and Im told the music is fantastic!

Always great service and food here. And since they have in the neighborhood of 14 dart boards I never have to wait for a game. Thats just upstairs, go downstairs to the blues club and check out great local bands. This place is awesome.

Im leaving a note here about Shawana and the Wontons as they were excellent and I will go again to River City to see them. The venue was clean and had a decent atmosphere. Drinks are expensive.

Decent prices on beer. Free darts in a giant dart room. Pool tables too. Bands usually have a cover. Very spacious and not too busy
