We went on the Bike and Boat trip tonight (7/13/14) from Sand Island in Bethlehem. The bike ride was great, The group was 32 people, adults and children. They provide nice bikes and helmets. We were on compact gravel paths that follow the D&L trail along the Lehigh River. We traveled to Canal Park in Allentown where the put in was for our canoes. The guides were great. They explained everything and made the trip fun. We paddled canoes to an island on the way back to Sand Island. We all thought this layover was a bit too long. We roasted marshmallows at a campfire, but then we were on the island for over 30 minutes. There isnt anyplace to sit and it just seemed too long to stand around. The guides all had to move the canoes from one side of the island to the other. I wish they had just asked everyone to move their own canoes, in the interest of time. The final leg was beautiful. At take out the guides again did all the work. They should not be shy about asking for tips. Every other trip we have taken with a guide, there is a time at the end where participants are asked to tip. They certainly earned it. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting to connect with new friends and nature.

I went on a bike and boat trip. It was very good and the guides were very helpful. They were very patient to teach a beginner like me to row a canoe. The river was very gentle and not deep. Great place to start even for people who dont know how to swim.

Beautiful place to walk, enjoy the scenery, nature, different plants, flowers, all kinds of paths...theres a bird watching place that we really enjoyed. The birds come to feed and play among the shaded trees and flower gardens. Very peaceful place.

I love taking my daughter here for classes and taking classes myself here as well. The teachers are fantastic and they use so many different facilities around the valley. Ms. Christina is the best!

If you like nature and wildlife its a great place to see and learn both. They have a lot of activities for kids and a wooden walkway if you want to go for a walk or photograph birds and wildlife.

The wood boardwalk is very nice place for a family stroll when the weather is not too hot. You see rabbits, birds, butterflies, fishes and owl along the trail. I like the small ponds too.

More fun then a barrel of monkeys. Lots of great hiking trails and all fairly easy for the new hiker. Very nice staff that will answer every question you have.

This was a very cool wildlife sanctuary which I didnt even know was in Emmaus. Awesome trails and activities for the kids. Hidden little gem.
