We were looking for something new to try around Chambersburg. This popped up with good reviews so we gave it a shot. The atmosphere looked great and we both got a great vibe from the beginning. I loved the design and feel of the building. Our server was great, friendly, and seemed to enjoy her job. We got our first beer and ordered an appetizer. Shortly after, we ordered our entrees (the 1864 burger and a rib-eye sandwich special). We finished our first beer, ordered another round, and still no food. Our server told us it was trivia night and the kitchen was a little backed up. Thats fine and completely understandable. Both of us eating have served before and know what thats like. That being said, an hour and a half go by and still no food. No appetizers, no entrees, nothing. Our waitress came over and kept apologizing. After 1 hour 45 minutes, we finally received our appetizers which left much to be desired. The batter on the pickle spears was falling off and looked more than well done and we had 6 tiny chicken nuggets (maybe quarter sized) in a big basket that were their "boneless wings". They were also out of the hot sauce that we originally wanted our wings tossed in. At this point, after waiting so long, a manager shouldve come by to apologize and ask how things were at least. Never heard a word from anyone other than our server, Taylor (great server, keep up the good work!). Any place that Ive served wouldve at least comped a round of drinks to make customers leave happy. Dinner finally arrived and still left more to be desired. My rib eye sandwich was dry and overdone. We noticed that the servers were all huddled around the expo window waiting on food. All in all, not a good experience. I understand it may get backed up with a popular night like trivia night, but prepare for it. We were there 30 minutes before it started. Our food shouldve been out before it even began. We spent a lot of money here, as it isnt cheap to eat here for the food they offer. The bill was $90 for two people with three drinks each. We might be willing to give it another shot on a different night, but most likely will look elsewhere. I was really looking forward to it.

This was my first visit to the new Beer Stube located above the Roy Pitz brewery. We went in hoping for a good night out with friends and as you will find out that was accomplished successfully. All of the beers Roy Pitz produces are top-notch so I knew we knew we wouldnt be let down in that regard. All of the staff were friendly and going up to the bar to receive a top off was completely painless. I liked that they brought out the natural look of the old building they are located in. The exposed wooden ceilings are nice, as well as the brick interior walls. The bar seats are really unique because they are made out of the combination of an auger and old tractor seat. The bar seating is rather limited, but that didnt take away from the experience we had. The menu is limited at this time to hot dogs, chili, and grilled cheese paninis. I cant comment on any of those because we ate before we arrived. We only had drinks as our objective on this visit, so this didnt take away from our mission. Everything considered, this is a great place to relax on a Friday night and enjoy good company over a few beers. The Chambersburg area was really missing a place like this and I believe the new Roy Pitz Beer Stube fills the void nicely. Best of luck to the owners and I hope for more good nights at the Stube. Prost!

This is a review of the beer pub - the beer was good. I enjoyed a number of the beers. I didnt find any of the beers to be exceptional - but all the beers I sampled had good body , good aroma and good taste. I didnt sample any beer that I didnt like. This is the 3rd month that the beer "stube" has been open and they seem to have expanded on their menu. I had a Reuben panini and found it to be tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed. I found it somewhat insulting that the servers insisted that you pay for items as they were served or that it you didnt pay when served you had to give them your credit card for them to hold - get real - im an adult person who wants to enjoy your food and beverages - not some one who wants to rip you off. The "pay now" policy seemed insulting enough to me that I will only go back if some of my friends insist on going back. I have no interest in going somewhere where I have to give them my credit card to hold if I want to drink a couple beers.

Everything about this place was first-rate during my visit. We had a large party--14 people. We got lucky landing two adjacent tables on a Saturday night around 5:30 PM, but we were prepared to split up. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. And then theres the beer and food. Beer? Great, really enjoyed the Underground Safety Stout. Food? Wow, just wow. The burger was out of this world. Sourced from local meats, topped wonderfully, and perfectly cooked. If youre looking for a beer and burger, this is it!

Great service.....not so great food, I overheard a few customers asking if there was food available, and the bartenders reply was that the "chief" was at a bachelor party, not very professional. Im sure expanding the food selection will eventually happen, would only make sense. The beers taste great the prices are a bit on the high side compared to other breweries Ive been to in actual cities. Its great that Chambersburg has its own local brewery and with a few changes this place will be top notch.

Great Guys, Very nice and helpful gave me an excellent tour with very fair plrices for their ales. The Beers were very good, I didnt get to try their whole selection but I had the pleasure of try 7 very well crafted lagered ales. Their smoked dark lager & english IPA were lovely. I still have to try their old jail ale, I heard the opened up a brew pub up stairs you I would tell everyone and anyone to swing and give ROY PITZ a good! Cheers!

We are part of a Nationally sanctioned political club that meets at Roy Pitz every month. There are typically 10-25 or more people in our monthly group. Last night the Hostess would not allow us to move two tables together to be together. I guess our business may not be wanted there any more, since there are other venues near by that will accommodate us.

This little brewery is tucked in downtown chamersburg. It has a nice rustic feel with a bar and tables. They serve variety of finger foods and sandwiches. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the brews. So if your passing through the area or live here this is a must try place and great place to take friends and family visiting❗️

No hostess, fight for a table. They "tried a hostess before and it didnt work ". WTF? Ordered the Philly, with cheese wiz. Only, its not cheese wiz. Its their version of a trade mark product. Had to argue with 2 people to get a sandwich I did not eat comped. Alex the waiter was very attentive. Never going again. Beer not good.
