I had a nice experience at Abigaile / Ocean Bar. We had a reservation at Abigaile, but when we came in, we were asked if we wanted to sit outside on their patio, which I guess was really Ocean Bar. Anyway. We had some drinks and food... I had a mule-style cocktail, which the bartended accidentally made two of, so one on the house! Solid cocktail, nothing mindblowing. We probably ordered too much food, but for the most part, I enjoyed it. Rosemary potato chips - 3 stars. Tasty, kettle cooked chips with a decent amount of rosemary, but they didnt really add to the meal. Roasted medjool dates & kale salad - 4 stars. The best part was obviously the date, wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with goat cheese. The salad was good too, a large portion, and a nice green side to the other items we ordered. In particular I liked the texture added by the pomegranate seeds. Really though... Id be psyched about a plate of the dates! Scallops - 4 stars. Served with bok choy over polenta. The scallops were perfectly done, but I could have used one or two more. Moroccan lamb kibbeh - 5 stars. Served with a spicy tomato sauce, topped with tzatziki and feta. The lamb was tender and moist, I loved the kick from the sauce, and the pita was perfectly toasted. Our server was incredibly friendly, fixing a broken chair for us, bringing us extra drinks, and constantly attending to our needs. Overall, this was a nice place to spend an evening. Id definitely come back.

The mixed drinks way overpriced for what many hyped up to be this most amazing spot. This micro brews well within range, but the disheartening news is, I showed up and there was long lines which can be expected at places. However, real kick off was there was a African American bouncer there at this time that would let all the girls in or people he knew as a connection; while others waited like it was some top VIP place. When informing him that I was a disabled vet that just came back from deployment and had reconstructive surgery when showing scars and fresh worries wounds he scoffed in my face and told me to wait in line like everyone else. I merely just asked if I could be able to get in due to my pain to be able to sit down in establishment with wife and enjoy some beverages or that I even understand the wait could I be able to sit down on a bench somewhere and wait till time to let me in when turn. This was not good enough and blew me off as if I was nothing and it meant nothing. When spoke with general manger he was more than nice and respectful and thankful for my service to let me in without having to pay cover at the least which meant a lot that he cared for veterans and their service. It is a nice place but and wish I could give it more stars but really was not all that expected with hyped and half the staff not as friendly as other establishments within area.

I like to come here on weeknights and sit up top with the mini bonfires while watching the bustling of the pier beneath me. Its great place to wind down and chat with coworkers or friends. Friday and Saturday nights are a completely different story. Its loud. Its crowded. All the tall people like to gather here. I am a very short person so I have to constantly make sure I am not getting stomped on. The dance floor is small and people tend to just stand in groups on it; making it really hard for those who do want to dance. The upper deck is always beyond crowded so dont bother trying to find a seat. There is one average-sized bar and a mini bar outside, but at least the bartenders are attentive and make the drinks fast. Despite all this, I tend to walk out thinking I had a great time so it is definitely worth looking into. I always come after the kitchen is closed so I cant say anything on the food they serve.

Definitely in the top 5 of worst dining experiences ever, which pains me to say as this used to be one of my favorite places (before the name change). I planned a Sunday gathering for a bunch of friends. After wed ordered all of these bottles for the table they informed us that there was no more food in the kitchen... This is at noon, which made no sense. Unless a very hungry hippo had been dining there just before we arrived. The service was terrible and the management wasnt helpful AT ALL in resolving any of my concerns. I guess theyd already had $500 of my money so it didnt matter what happened next. I definitely do not plan on going back unless it changes owners. Ocean Bar represents everything that is wrong with the new South Bay.

Abigaile is one of the best restaurants in the South Bay. I had an opportunity to go there last month for a friends birthday dinner, and the service and food were amazing. We had the duck gnocci, the lamb, the burger, and a good variety of other small dishes and I couldnt stop eating it was so good. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in Hermosa Beach.

Very loud, food is not good compared to other places around. Drinks are ok but nothing exciting either. Had the ribeye steak, $30 lot of fat and fries werent even good. Service wasnt good, server kept bringing wrong food... Décor is ok

Too crowded. Drinks are not strong enough. Over priced. Did not enjoy this experience. Food was bland and just felt way too oily.
