The park itself is excellent and worthy of more than 2-stars. Its a very pretty area and has some neat effigy mounds, which I highly recommend seeing. The 2-star rating comes from the atmosphere of the park that has been created by the residents of the area. Although it is a public park, they are very vocal about it being "their" park. Their opinions of people from outside the neighborhood came to light in response to the influx of visitors playing Pokemon GO. There have been many instances of visitors being harassed, threatened, having racial slurs shouted at them, or having the police called on them simply for using the park within normal park hours. I would recommend checking out one of the other great parks in Madison, and leaving Hudson Park to the hateful people who have claimed it.

Nice park. Good people that hangout there, especially for pokemon. However, chamber of Commerce was there this past week along with the scum of people who live in the area to remove this as a public park. One woman claimed she was worried about the trees dying due to the influx of people. Horrible residents in the area, but a nice park to hangout (even more so since it pisses the hell out of the nearby residents)

Nice little spot if youre in the neighborhood. The effigy mounds are a great little piece of local history and the lakefront walk is nice in warmer months. The little beach area isnt so great, though. Often smelly and with accumulated seaweed and bits of litter washed up.

Local native american effigy mounds, and Great place for Pokémon stops. The park has recently come alive with visitors everyday.

The park is lovely, but the neighbors are incredibly abrasive and unwelcoming. White privilege abounds.
