Be warned; do not schedule a future appointment with a guest artist and pay a deposit. This is because Body Gallery does not take responsibility for a guest tattoo artists mishaps. This rating is solely based off of my experience. I came in to talk about some art and spoke with an individual who we decided to schedule a future appointment. Scheduling another appointment was an ordeal in its own since the guy lives in another region of the country. On the morning of the appointment I received a message saying that he would not make it. We rescheduled. On the day of the rescheduled appointment he, again, had to cancel because he couldnt make it. I have told the artist that with a family and all, scheduling is sort of a big deal so I would have to put this whole thing to the side (actually arranging with another location). The artist agreed and indicated that he would arrange with Body Gallery the refund of my deposit. I went to Body Gallery to collect my refund but no one there knew of the situation and they could not get in touch with said artist. They did get in touch with the owner and the owner stated that they could not provide my refund in his absence and I will have to arrange it between him and myself. My main issue here is that, if I were to get an outstanding tattoo from this guest artist, I would credit Body Gallery and THEN the artist. Body Gallery would love that publicity. But they did not want to take responsibility for the lower level of customer service provided by a guest artist. I did not want to rate all the way to a 1 star because I have personally seen the product by this facility and it is more than adequate. I feel that they could just use a better philosophy on how to handle the guest tattoo artists.

After seeing the response from Jenny to my prior rating I laughed so hard. She knew the entire situation and even said she would help out for a while. She looked at the few hours worth of work and and cringed from the scarring and mess her artist did. She told me at the time she would remove his work for free. Shortly after that after multiple attempts of communication she kept blowing me off. When she finally got in touch with me she said "I sold my laser removal equipment and there is nothing that she could do for you." Yes .. admitted that the shop was not watched and unable artist were left alone to make poor decision on their own. Taking on projects they had no business even thinking of. This all reflects on the owner and management of the shops. Now they are reopened in Leesburg with at least one fly by night artist who is way too rough and unprofessional. If anyone goes to either of these shops you better be know a lot about the art of tattooing otherwise its a good chance that you will either be ripped off or have a so so tattoo done. Tattoos are for life!! Expect more from the shop you go to!

I went in for my fourth time, and figured it was about time for me to leave a review! I always see Billy, because I always get great results and never saw the need to try a different artist. Each time, I ended up paying less than I was quoted, spent less time sitting for the tattoo than I was quoted, and my tattoos always look even better than I originally imagined them. He is VERY thorough about keeping my tattoo clean while he is working on it, and while it can somewhat irritate my delicate skin it is totally worth it. I have never gotten any kind of infection, and my tattoos always heal very quickly. He is very helpful, 2 times I have just given him what I want but 2 times I gave him more of a concept to work with and he always puts a lot of creativity into the final result. I cannot wait to get started on my pokemon sleeve, and he seemed very eager to work together with me on it. As for the facility itself, it is kept very clean, its nicely decorated and I almost always like the music playing. The staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient. I will always come back for more!

I went to get what amounted to a difficult septum jewelry change. The piercer, Jesse, knew what he was doing but had a very rude/unprofessional attitude, preferring to lean against the counter texting instead of paying attention. I decided to get a VCH (vertical clitoral hood) piercing while I was there and again, Jesse knew what he was doing, but wasnt friendly or open about what he was doing. He neglected to tell me what gauge and size of jewelry he pierced me at AND he pierced me with externally threaded jewelry!! Its agony to change it!! Lesson learned: do not get pierced by Jesse! He probably wont botch it, but it wont be a pleasant experience because evidently browsing on his phone is more important to him than being courteous to his clients. The receptionist that I talked to was friendly, and the other tattoo artists seemed to be friendly. The studio was pretty clean and had an open floorplan so that you can clearly see over the counter and watch people get tattooed. At least the piercing studio has doors that can be closed.

I went thre to get my tongue peirced and EVERYONE was so nice there, and it is by far the cleanest shop i have ever been in. The piercer is great i believe his name is Ben....well anyways, he was awesome....I was so nervous even though it was my 6th piercing, and he was great at keeping my mind off of how neverous I was. I have heard alot of people say that getting their tongue hurt so bad.....but obviously whoever did theirs didnt do it quite right.....when Ben did mine it was quick and i felt little pain!! He told me everything her was doing, and showed me the markings he had made to see if that was where i wanted it, he even told me that it had to be a little crooked because I have a vein going right down the middle of my tongue on the bottom, and that he had to do his the same way for the same reason. When I start getting my tattoos I will definately be going there for ALL of them!!!!

Great overall experience!!!!! Phil was the artist that performed my work. I got a pretty large tattoo covering from my shoulder to the end of my bicep and the guy did a great job. Super talented. He and Jenni both offered suggestions to enhance my initial idea and needless to say they were 100% correct. The whole staff is laid back and pretty funny to say the least. I am definitely going to go back for more work in the near future. If you are hesitant or considering one of the other Northern VA shops I would lean towards the Body Gallery based on the reviews, price comparisons, and the overall professionalism of the shop.

I got my nose pierced at a shop in Norfolk when I went to visit friends. They left a huge tail on my L shaped nose stud, and it kept hanging out of my nostril. I went into this shop resigned to getting a new piece of jewelry, but sweet Jesse was able to quickly refit my ring for me. He is professional, skilled, and clearly knows what hes doing. The shop was clean with a really cool layout, and every single employee in there was extremely nice. I felt a little trepidation based on some of the reviews here, but I am so glad that I went. I cant wait until birthday tattoo and piercing time! See yall in March!
