My wife and I stumbled upon this place during a Sunday ride to Harpers Ferry. The place is a small working farm that was being managed by a young agriculture student from New York. What was so compelling for us were the patches of flowers off the dirt road that attracted a huge number of different butterflies. Its a small cozy place with some short hiking paths. Birders might also enjoy the place especially during spring mornings and evenings.

This is an absolutely beautiful park with lots of wildlife (we saw deer, an owl, indigo buntings, and lots of butterflies) and and extensive trails. You can hike or horseback ride. In the spring and summer, there are lots of wildflowers to admire, but the Civil War and antebellum era structures will be partly obscured by trees.

We went here one day for a family hike. We really enjoyed the property. It was not too strenuous. If youre looking for a chance to take a walk in the woods and get a little dose of nature, this is a good bet.
