I played 10/11/15 and I wish I would have listened to the other peoples concerns about this course. The tee boxes and fairways are horrific. The tee boxes were all tore up and it was hard to find a decent patch of grass to place a tee. Had that been the only issue, I could have been semi understanding of the $64 I payed. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The fairways had multiple potholes that were filled with standing water. The potholes started from the second hole and continued throughout. The fringe of the fairways were filled with dead, brown grass; that were riddled with mud spots and standing water. There were even a few fairways that had standing water and, after your tee shot would hit the ground, the ball would be covered in mud and not even get a roll. My partner bought new white shoes prior to our round and ended up stepping in a mud hole right off the tee box. Severely frustrating. The "turn" restaurant is anything but that. The only food options you have after the 9th hole are a sausage or a hotdog. Of course they have little odd snacks, but nothing sustainable for another 9 holes. The 9th hole does not end back at the club house, but rather out in between the 7th and 10th hole. We had 6 carts backed up trying to get snacks/play the 7th hole. After our round, I immediately went to talk the GM, who offered the explanation of "over seeding and over watering" as to why the course was the way it was. I had taken 15-20 pictures to show him and he seemed unbothered by them. He offered a free round of golf for our group, but I declined at the time and said I wasnt sure it was worth it. I have still yet to get back with him about his offer. For the money, I would easily go elsewhere.

Having just played this course yesterday, I can tell you that the course is in superb shape. The staff inside the clubhouse was very friendly as well. Unfortunately, due to the absolutely ridiculous way we were treated by the course officials for no reason whatsever, I will never go back and will strongly encourage everyone to play elsewhere. One in particular was very demeaning and unbelievably rude to us and the group teeing off in front of us. I know my review is in the minority, but I strongly feel it is worth speaking up about. We have already written letters to the ownership group regarding this behavior. Fantastic Golf Course, but if you want to enjoy the atmosphere, play elsewhere.

My son enjoys playing Iron Horse, and he gives it 4 stars. Its challenging enough for him and forces him to give thought to club selection. I rode the cart with him last Saturday, and it was very hot, so I was drinking lots of water. I could not find a restroom anywhere other than the clubhouse. Since we were put together with 3 other players, also guys, I didnt want my son to drive me to the clubhouse. I waited extremely uncomfortably from holes 5 to 10 until we made the turn. At the end of 9 my son told the guys that he was taking me to the clubhouse. If you have any other restroom facilities on the course, please let me know.

We golfer here in mid to late march, and it was okay. I dont like that you can only get 3 beers at a time before you head out, because you may not see a cart girl for 2 hours. Course was in decent condition, but the fairways and greens were hard and fast. This was odd because we have had a ton of rain over the past few weeks, and a bunch in the days leading up to that point. All in all, the layout is good, and location is as well. Be aware that alot of the dog legs are very early in the hole. Like 150 yards out. That made it fun though. Good bang for your buck course, but there is a nicer course a few miles west of here.

Great course. Very enjoyable, and I really like some of the recent changes. You can now order food on the course and they bring it out to you. Cool! Only thing keeping me from rating 5 is the pace. Seems to be an issue at many Eagle Golf courses. It takes more than some videos on your GPS system to fix slow play. More space between tee times, Marshalls who actually give warnings to slow groups and move them into correct position when needed, etc. Last round was 55 minutes behind pace!

Honest People and great customer care. I played there earlier in the week. Came down with a flu by the end of the round. Dont remember much of about that day. But it turns out I left my putter in the cart and didnt realized it until 5 days. Been in Bed due to flu. Call the course to see if they found it and they said yes. Wow! I have left a few things at other courses, call them within the hour and they said no. This is the only course that said yes. 5Stars for sure.

Es un campo lleno de retos para el golfista. Excelente atención. En muy buenas condiciones. Los golfistas que suelen acudir a este campo son gentiles y conocen las reglas de etiqueta del golf. Se disfruta.

Not sure how a review from me showed up since I was fired by the chef turned f&b manager.... (Hi Hilary hope youre spreading that cheer)... and thanks to the new assistant Tiffany (hope Hilary isnt so overworked now) .. but I would give my star(s) to Chris for being so amazing at the summer kid camp and another star to Kevin, Todd, Paul && maintenance crew members for how hard they work.! Also its giertuga to whom ever

We just held our annual golf outing at Iron Horse last Friday and between the great accommodations and the hospitality, it was a huge success! This is the 3rd time we have held our outing at IH and the price is always right for excellent services and venue they provide!! We certainly recommend IH and their facilities for any outing you have coming up! Just contact Whitney and she will make it happen WITH a smile!!

This is my home municipal course. Good challenging course, and long Par 4s that are very unforgiving. Course is in great shape for the most part. I play here nearly every week, unless I am out of town on Business. Obviously being a muni course, some days the Tee Boxes can be a little rough from newbies tearing it up - but they are almost always fixed promptly. Hottest cart/drink girls in Texas as well :-)

Decent price and course in generally good condition. The only problem Id say, which I doubt can be fixed is that the driving range looks dead into the setting sun. And they pull put mats on Monday and Tuesday. And during school season theres tons of high school kids from various local high schools. But its definitely one of the better courses. Fossil Creek is a notch higher, but more expensive.

Over priced and over watered. Bunkers are so compacted because of the watering it is almost impossible to play out of. Even in this TX summer, there are many spots where you cannot walk or drive because its so soggy. Greens were aerated but they still charge $69. I will not be back. I agree with other folks that state there are better courses for lower prices.
