Windsurf Park is a Diamond in the rough. Its name suggests just what a number of enthusiasts are up to several afternoons a week. Watching the windsurfing on a beautiful afternoon when the colors of the water, the sky and the brightly colored sails create a beautiful portrait. On the other hand, the place gets uncomfortably busy with people fishing, swimming and drinking, constructing little tents and sun screens. If you look at the water, its not real tempting to swim in. The silt gets stirred up and its kind murky looking. Police are kind of Leary of the place. It attracts a lot of families as well as "characters". Ive never been witness to criminal activity there, but the ingredients for alcohol and drug related problems are all there.

Abysmal. The "sand" is more like gravel. There is barely any "sand" at all. I took my toddlers on a Friday morning to avoid crowds. It was not crowded but full of trash (bottle caps, glass). My toddler wanted to take her crocs off bc they were filling with gravel. I could not allow her to take her shoes off bc she would step on trash or glass. There were so many old fire piles and piles of charcoal everywhere. I guess people just dump the charcoal on the ground when they are ready to leave? Do not go here. I saw someone cleaning up trash in the parking lot. The city needs to come and dump a few dump trucks of sand. Also a path down to the "beach" would be nice. My expectations were already low, and we had to leave it was so depressing.

Rough park; its just a parking lot and one Pavilion at the top of the hill. Dont go on the weekends during the summer it can be a bad crowd, but at least the police to patrol often. The water is usually muddy. For Windsurfers the shallow water near the beach and the jetty is a plus. The jetty also provides smoother water than the main part of the lake. Its best for sailing during a south or southeast wind, southwest wind pushes the wind line out in the bay. Tips: There is no boat ramp so dont bring a boat or "jet ski" , muddy water is not good for swimming.

Its the only beach Ive found on Ray Hubbard for public swimming. Theres plenty of space for large groups. But there is always trash on the ground and in the water. I found a glass beer bottle in the water. Glad it wasnt broken. Port a potties smell and are rarely serviced. Boaters and jet skiers arent slow or careful when near the swimming area. BUT...of you wanna cookout at the lake and get in the water..and you dont have a boat or lake front property...then your choice is slim. I may go back but I definately wont be taking children with me.

Why is the park shut down??! We got in at 9:00am but by the time the rest of our party showed up they shut the entrance and wouldnt let in any other cars! Ridiculous! Making people walk blocks carryin their stuff! The parking was NOT muddy anymore , the sun dried it out and they still wouldnt open the front gate... Thanks for ruining alot of peoples 4th of July.... TONY VASTANO is the owner .. BEWARE

Place is cool and fun went here last month and me and my cousin were playing basketball at that basketball court and went fishing here 2 years ago in 2015 on the summer and it was fun and I also had my 3rd birthday here back in the early 2000s when ever I was younger and it was great

Been coming here for over 30yrs.This is not a swimming beach, there is no swimming allowed in lake Ray Hubbard. The name says it all Windsurf bay park,is perfect for beginners and advanced sailors.
