I read the reviews about "the staff" being rude and such, well Im not sure what course they played at. We are new to the area and have now played 7 rounds at Beacon Lakes and can only say the staff is wonderful. They make you feel welcomed, are very friendly and courteous. I always like giving my $ to a business that I feel appreciates my business, and Beacon Lakes does just that. The course is fun and and can be challenging from the tips. Many fairways have lots of slope and water so shot placement can be critical. The greens could be a bit better but since I have been in Texas I really havent seen many greens at any course I would call "perfect". The driving range is one of the best I have seen in quite sometime. Im glad we ignored the negative comments and visited Beacon Lakes, think you will as well.

I can say good things and bad things about this course but I choice not to. I know at one time this was my favorite course with great friends who worked there and moved on. I cant judge the staff now but back than they was awesome and the course was in great shape. Even at one point I helped out with the kids program and thats what its all about. I loved it! I came back to play a week ago and it wasnt In great shape at all. I know you guys make tones of money out there, you got to. Its not my busy but buy better practice balls, create another chipping green area. Its a challenge hitting muddy balls and the ball can consider being wiffle balls. I am a great golfer so I would know those things. Peace and blessings

This place is way over priced and it’s a real dump to boot, the bathrooms are in bad shape the fairways are like driving on a wash board. More importantly the staff will turn off the lights on you before you can even get off the greens. I was at the driving range this evening and they turned off the lights on me after I had hit 3 balls from a large bucket; it was only 6:15 PM and weather was great. All they need is a little competition and they will be out of business in no time.

Rich Mans Prices and average course at best! There are no twi-light specials whatsoever, I guess because you can play under the lights. They need to offer regular specials daily rather then having to go to their website and hope they have a coupon. Course has some challenging holes and they do make an effort to keep the place up. All in all would be a regular played course if they come down on their price. They are making a killing out there.

Showed up late in the afternoon by myself with no tee time and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They got me right out. This course is very entertaining to play. Definitely not a bombers course. You need to really respect the water hazards, which are plentiful and not always visible from the tee box. The greens rolled very well and held shots like one would expect. I would definitely recommend this course.

Decent course for the money. Their scorecard lists par 4s and par 5s anywhere from 20 to 50 yards longer than they actually are. Makes you think you just drove 300 yards on the par 5s. The fairway markers are correct and so are all the par 3s. LOTS of water. Several senior groups play there mornings during the week. Good driving range with practice sand bunker and chipping green. By the way, the white tees are the senior tees.

I went about 5pm and tried to use a coupon, which he didnt seem to care for. He tried to charge me almost $60, when I asked him how he got that he got an attitude and said the rate was $30 but the after 3pm rate is $22.50. He continued to have an attitude and said that price maybe senior pricing. Theres too many places to play to get treated like this. 9 holes in Alvin for &14. We will be there in 15 min.

Start with the good, great practice facilities, greens in excellent condition. Now the bad, staff is not welcoming, layout kind of boring, attracts just plain horrible golfers, fairways are in extremely bad condition! I literally could not drive the cart down the fairway because they are so lumpy, just bizarre. I will not be back and would not recommend playing this course in the current condition.

I have always liked Beacon Lakes until today. The original owner would not accept a gift certificate that I thought had been lost for a few years. He was rude and offered me nothing in return. If the answer is going to be no, at least be nice! Maybe offer something that costs no money, like a round of golf or range tokens. $40 in his pocket! I will never darken that door again.

Decent course, not terribly challenging, very well-kept greens. My only complaint would be that it is somewhat "redneck", i.e. lapses in normal golf etiquette seem common. Combined with a rather tight design where tee boxes are in close proximity to greens, hostility can brew if you overshoot the green onto the next tee box...and sometimes its a blind approach.

Way over priced considering the quality of the course. Id recommend Bayou Golf Club in Texas City as a cheaper alternative. Greens are usually in decent condition but the fairways are not. The staff can be rude at times and will not let you play alone. They always try to pair you up regardless of the crowd

Nice track, well maintained. Nothing fancy, but well kept. Texas winds and the water keeps you honest, but not overly challenging. Very nice course to call your home public course, great place to build your skills. Great prices, and, you can play at night!! NIce grass driving range as well.

This place sucks!!!! The staff is horrible. They are over priced. Their coupons are not what they say. I could not play 9 out of 18 holes without being harassed by the staff and the party behind me was never waiting on me. Did not get moneys worth at all

Not overly priced, not usually packed, and is an above average course in my opinion. Although they were redoing the greens one time I was there, which basically made putting a joke. But any day you can get out there and golf, is a good day!

For the price the course is fine, but the fairways always need work and the greens are typically hard as a rock with patches of dirt here and there. You can play almost the entire back nine with a 7 iron, sand wedge and a putter.

The club pro is an absolute idiot. Complete jerk. He pulled the flag on the 9th hole as we were playing it because he wanted to go home. Accused us of something we didnt do and then denied everything. Waste of money.

All around solid public course with a few narrow drives and hazards to keep you honest. Good course conditions paired with great pricing results in excellent overall value.
