I keep trying to give this place a chance because of the reviews, but it seems that its run by college kids and they dont know anything about customer service or how to properly run a business. The last time I visited I received a coffee that tasted like burnt popcorn. It was disgusting. I had my son and boyfriend try it and they agreed. It was a caramel macchiato with soy milk. Ive had it there before (and the old location downtown) and it was usually pretty good. Ive had other drinks from this location and they were either hit or miss, never consistent. The old downtown location never stamped my card or gave me the student discount, and the Alameda location never gives me the student discount. The second to last time I visited, they charged me for my things and forgot to include my sons ice cream (who was clearly there with me, as I helped him order), then tried to make my son pay for his ice cream as if he wasnt there with me, not to mention that the employee was rude with me. My son was confused and felt uncomfortable being there. Out of the times Ive visited, only about 40% of the time I was satisfied with my drink order and food. Im not a super picky person, but I know good food and coffee and this place is overrated. Its not worth my time anymore.

I travel from coast to coast and spend many hours in coffee shops. The folks at Coffee Waves are some of the most kind and gracious that I have ever met. All of their coffee selections are superb and the Panini is a must! The WIFI signal is strong, there are plenty of power outlets, comfortable seating and you can stay as long as necessary without disgruntled looks from employees; a lesson that should be learned by Starbucks and Panera Bread. Did I mention the art work hanging on the walls? Very nice touch and the art is for sale. This has become one of my top three places to relax and work. PS. Once they learned that I was an ordained minister, they offered me a clergy discount. Bless you Coffee Waves.

The atmosphere is great, if you dont actually have to study at all. Corpus needs somewhere to go that is quiet, with cheap coffee. I love coffee waves, but it is expensive and coffee not that great, and they are always out of everything. I feel like lately it is so ridiculously loud! Not just the insane amount of noise they make at the bar, but the music is crazy loud. Hard to study with bob marley jamming out like its spring break 98. I think Im just going to have to start going to school to study. Cw is starting to become like a bar that doesnt serve beer. If someone would open a more study friendly coffee bar in cc, that would seriously bank. We dont have one at all.

The other one is way better. I dont know if its the owner or what, but he is here every time I come and he blasts his headphones and talks (practically yells) on the phone so loud, without regard to anyone around him. And if you sit outside, he literally chain smokes, so prepare for that. Theres almost always no where to sit inside here. And the staff is good. But the other coffee waves is a million times better. This one sucks butthole. The only upside is theres an outside space to sit with your dog.

Im pretty frustrated with this place I drove a good 30 minutes to get here thinking theyre open till midnight like it says online, they arent I arrive at 10:30 and they wouldnt serve me ice cream , its still right there in the freezer but he literally wouldnt scoop it Then the barista screams (were closing in 20 minutes) and announcing that theyre closing every 5 minutes I love supporting local businesses but honestly I would never get such crappy treatment at a Starbucks Wont be back!

My absolute favorite place in all of Corpus Christi. Amazing coffee, great gelato, decent prices. The atmosphere is so homey and welcoming, have had some of the best times and conversation with friends here over the past two years. Coffee waves is my home, somewhere Ive never felt so at home. Been going tri-weekly if not more for the past year. Incredibly friendly staff and impeccable service. I have nothing negative to say about Coffee Waves.

We go here once a week for coffee and or gelato. Probably close to 2 dozen visits in the last 6 months or so, and have never, never been disappointed in the products or employees. Id much rather have the young, energetic, ambitious and cheerful students working there than some of the sour, angry at the world 30 somethings you might encounter elsewhere. Great prices and the best gelato anywhere.

Dishonest about prices. no prices posted, Batistas were laughing about overcharging customers. Batistas were so busy talking about being busy that they forgot to make coffee. 2 people in the building, 3 workers, isnt slammed. Rude, corrected Russian girlfriend about sizes being venti, grande, etc. Whatever, but dont be rude about it. Coffee was fantastic, 30minutes after ordering.

As an Aussie working in Corpus Christi, I struggled to find any good coffee. Until I found Coffee Waves. Coffee Waves is the best coffee I have had in CC. Their roast doesnt confuse bitterness with flavor, as most coffee place in town do. The only reason Im not giving them a 5/5 is because they dont have Picollo Lattes or Flat Whites on their menu. Get on that!

We are digital nomads who were traveling through Corpus Christi. We visited here a couple days in a row to get work done. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff friendly, and the WiFi connection strong. The first day we got gelato, which was delicious, and the second day coffee, which was also great -- and the prices were reasonable, to boot! Highly recommended.

Baristas are not very well educated on drinks and do not go out of their way to help you. Yes the place has a great look and feel to it, but most people are there for the wifi and are loud. Its like someone said that if you want to be cool you have to be at this place so expect a lot of college kids trying to be cool while you drink horrible espresso.

Its a pretty chill little place. Good coffee which is the most important thing, lots of variety to the menu. The staff is a little underwhelming on the speed and quality but was friendly enough. The kind of place you could make a regular hangout where you get a feel for what to order and when to go.

very accommodating to people just wanting to hangout and socialize or get some studying/research done. this location has a laid back vibe without the "stuffiness" of a well known chain. one star off because the quality of customer service was good but not excellent.

Awesome place! The affogato is one of the best drinks/ice creams that they can offer (personal preference). Really nice vibe, really hipster, reminds me of Austin! (Where I am from) the artwork hanging from the walls is very nice and unique! Really recommend it!

Great staff! Great atmosphere! Great coffee! Throughout Corpus Christis recent water boil crisis, Coffee Waves has remained a shining star in the area by finding a way to keep their doors open, offering their delicious expresso with a smile on their face.

A cool coffee hang out. College hangout when I went in. The place had energy. Students, entering the world--full of knowledge and caffeine, doing gosh knows what on their labtops. Good coffee, big place, lots of seating, WI Fi, duh...Just so hip.
