One of the most efficient venues Ive been to. You will certainly have a good concert experience here. Parking is the only issue I see. With big acts that perform, parking lots near the venue are expensive. If youre going Monday-Wednesday, all parking spots are free after 6pm (Sunday free all day). Any other day I recommend parking past 10th/Guadalupe as its free, and just walk the few blocks. The gate entry is easy to get in and lines move quickly. When you enter through the stairs there is a bar greeting you. Feel free to grab a few drinks and then head into the venue. Performances usually start right on time (no waiting an extra 45 minutes). One of my favorite things about this venue is that in between acts, people have time to use the restroom, get drinks, and talk outside before the next act comes on. All the seating sections in the venue are close to each other, making it easy to find your way back. Last but not least, this venue brings in top bands/artists. Ive seen performances by OneRepublic, Lionel Richie, Big Gigantic, The Dream, Polica, Sarah Bareilles, etc.

As far as Im concerned, this is the place you want to see live music in Austin. I saw Stone Temple Pilots here, and the first thing that struck me is that there wasnt a bad seat in the house. I had floor tickets, but even if Id stayed back by the bar, Id still be closer to the stage than Ive been at many venues. When I decided to fight my way down close to the stage, it was literally. right. there. I think Scott Weiland was close enough to grab my camera right out of my hand. I know I was frightened he might. If you choose not to brave the crowds, the balconies might have better seats than the floor. Im not sure, because Ive not sat up there, but youll certainly feel close to the action and have very good sight lines. The acoustics are extremely good and the sound system as good as Ive heard anywhere that routinely plays good old fashioned rock and roll. Plus, it always seems to be filled with a mellower crowd thats there to enjoy the music, not get drunk and start fights. And the venue is gorgeous. Seriously, whats not to like here?

Experience was great except for some of the staff was pretty rude. I was looking for water fountains and was accidentally walking towards what I guess was backstage? Staff told me to turn around if I was looking for bathrooms and I politely said I was sorry and I was looking for water. She rudely directed me around the corner, which was indeed where I was walking towards anyways. I mean damn lady I bet it feels good to have authority but I was just thirsty. About 10 minutes later, my sister and I were running to catch a show. One of the staff asked us to stop running and before we were even given two seconds to let that register/let us slow down, another staff member said "No running means NO RUNNING" like were in kindergarten or something. If it wasnt for the relative politeness of the bartender and the checkpoint security personnel who made up for the rest of the staff, as well as having an otherwise great experience, my rating would be two stars instead of three.

Music Venues: Austin If youve never been to Austin, chances are still high youve heard about "Austin City Limits". This Austin-icon television show placed Austin on the national map with its incredible live music broadcast over public television. The original studio was very small and demand to be in the audience was always through the roof. Finally, the show found a new home in the brand new Moody Theater, which shares space with the new W Hotel in downtown Austin. The theater borrows from the House of Blues format, which keeps things intimate with a small venue, but also keeps capacity as high as possible with an upper level balcony. ACL still shoots the show in this theater, but Moody is also used for concerts that are open to the public. Its a great place to see your favorite band or be exposed to the newest musical artist. Check it out. #12DaysofChristmasATX

Weve hears it is a great venue etc but were hugely disappointed with last nights Willie Nelson show. We were lead to believe the show would start at 9 with Iron and Wine and Willie would come on around 10:30-11. Well in typical Austin fashion it was posted inside the venue that Willie wouldnt come on until after midnight which for us was the main reason we went. For a club or a bar thats typical Austin but for a NYE show at a 3,000 seat venue??? We didnt even bother to stay as it would have meant getting home at 3am which wasnt our plan. Also surprised for a new venue that the seats in the balcony were so narrow, you had to be incredibly thin to be comfortable in those seats Yeah it looks like a great place to see a show, very intimate good accoustics but last night stunk and I blame Willie and the promoters

The problem with "legends" is that they forget what made them legendary and they fall into the trap of thinking that their act is a showcase for their personality or their politics. This was aptly demonstrated in a recent concert by the "legend", Buddy Guy. He spent the entire concert in a continuous dialogue with the audience and he failed to do more than one or two songs all the way through. Perhaps he is bored with performing the songs which made him a legend, but, alas, that is not my problem!!! I paid $126 so that my friends and I could be introduced to a "legend". I want my money back!!! If you want to see some hardworking musicians who really know the blues check out "The Peacemakers" at Evangelines at 10 pm every Wednesday. That is money well spent!!!

I was thoroughly impressed with ACL Live. The layout of the venue really does allow for everyone to have a great seat (even in the balcony), and the venue seems intimate despite being able to accomodate 2,700+ people. Access to bars and servers in seated areas made getting a drink easy especially away from the main downstairs bar. Get a drink at the mezzanine level and check out the photos from previous ACL tapings. The drink prices are a little high ($7-$10), but this is not outrageous for a larger music venue. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, the venue was clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The sound was great, not too loud either. For $15 per ticket, I may have found a new favorite music venue.

Amazing venue! The sound was actually loud, unlike everywhere in Dallas. I live near Dallas and chose to come to ACL Live to see Mastodon, instead of driving 30 minutes to Gas Monkey Grill where Mastodon played on 5/19/17. I have seen 3 shows at Gas Monkey Grill and the sound sucks, unless you are in the middle of the floor, center stage - and even there, the sound didnt sound half as good as it did at ACL Live. ACL Live has amazing seats, amazing sound and is just an overall cool venue. I will be seeing all of the concerts that I can (even though its a 4 hour drive for me) at ACL Live. Thanks for a great experience!
