Williams-Brice is the football stadium for the overgrown community college known as USC. It is situated in an outhouse called Columbia, SC - the armpit of the southeastern athletic conference (SEC). No one goes to Columbia, SC unless they absolutely have to - sort of like how no one who wants to be educated would attend the "University" of South Carolina unless they couldnt get into the College of Charleston, Clemson or Phoenix. USC fans are the inbred, redneck, chip-on-the-shoulder types. They are foulmouthed and crass and they wear it proudly. Their football teams accomplishments are almost nil yet the fans have the arrogance of a program that has actually won something. USC football fans make a Willie Nelson concert look like a Mensa Conference. The food in the stadium is awful and overpriced but thats actually a plus because your stomach wont feel like eating. From the looks of things USC fans do enough eating for the rest of us - like the entire eastern seaboard rest of us. Alcohol isnt served at the stadium because most fans are already inebriated either from tailgating or they were just born that way. All in all its about what youd expect from the state of South Carolina where they thank God for Mississippi whenever anyone starts publishing statistics on education, obesity or just general hopelessness.

I am a Tennessee fan and I can admit that I loved Williams Brice Stadium. The Good: I thoroughly enjoyed the unique architecture of the stadium. The scoreboard was very nice, it was so nice that I found myself watching the game on that instead of plays that happened right in front of me! Every single fan I encountered was fun, had great senses of humor, and engaging to talk to. The game itself was different in a good way. By that I mean I wasnt used to hearing Cocky every third down, yalls announcer was good, and yalls entrance to the game gave me chills like Neyland Stadium does. The Bad: Parking was difficult for us, and we had to walk a long way. The campus seemed bland while I was there. The area around the stadium was boring, except for the tailgating. The Ugly: None. Had a great time and intend on coming back in 2016.

The facilities and game day experience are exactly what one would expect at any SEC school. Tailgating options are bountiful and well maintained. The facilities are functional and there are plenty of bathrooms. However, the post-game behavior of many does not resemble the southern hospitality they so fervently claim to represent. I saw fans scream like a chicken in opposing fans faces. I heard them yell racist and sexist remarks at the children of opposing fans. The highlight of their lack of sportsmanship and class came during every injury timeout where, instead of showing respect for the medical staff attending to the injured players, they shouted GAME COCKS at deafening levels.

Recently went to see Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney in concert there and it was amazing! My first stadium show and i loved it. The bathrooms left something to be desired but everything else was great. Only problem we had was leaving. We took a cab from our hotel and were dropped off at the main gate but afterward the traffic situation was such a cluster *&$# that we ended up sitting on the sidewalk of the BP gas station for almost 2.5 hours (in the cold rain) along with about 500 others because the city of Columbia wouldnt allow cabs back into the area to pick people up. Thanks City of Columbia SC for ruining an otherwise perfect girls weekend!

I dont get the city planning of Columbia as a whole and as for the stadium my guess is they decided to play a game of pin the tail on the donkey and wherever the pin landed is where it got built..The stadium sits out in the middle of BFE..The parking situation could be better, the concessions could be better. but the biggest beef is that the crowds are tame and with most of the upper echelon venues holding 100+k people, Williams Brice seems on the small and outdated side...I have attended a few sec games and clemson/usc twice and found the all-around experience to be average..The highlight for me is the tailgating with good food and people....

This is where you go for Gamecock football. Interestingly, this stadium is not located on Campus. You have to take buses from campus to Williams-Brice on Gameday. Kind of odd. The venue itself is robust but old. There are no water fountains in the stadium so youll either have to buy water on site at an exorbitant price or faint from dehydration. Also, the mens bathrooms are disgusting. They dont even have urinals, its just a trough of running water that you pee in. Yes. Like for real. If youre a Gamecock fan or a student, youll be here eventually. Hopefully youll remember the game and not the facilities.

Great tailgate experience, but I was disappointed at the high prices from everything to parking, tickets and food. Not to mention the home team fans were not too polite, but that is something that one can expect. Parking spaces in some areas sell from $11,000-$25,000!!! Yes, you heard me right - PARKING SPACES!!!! Pro sports have been overpriced for years but now college sports are WAY too far up there as well. A typical family of four cant afford going to a game for quality time anymore. It is completely and utterly RIDICULOUS!!!

Had seats on row 1 of visitors side 40 yard line. Should have been great seats. Even though the row was 1 there were 6 or 7 rows of seats in front of me. But in order to see the game everyone had to stand on the bleachers because the very lowest row was allowed to stand on the bleachers. Older couple sitting next to me left the game. Everyone who did not feel comfortable standing on bleachers could not see the game.

We had a blast even though we lost to Kentucky. The staff as friendly and accommodating. The only negative was that the drinks were warm when purchased...but it was a sold out game so I can understand how difficult it can be to keep drinks stocked. I thought the would might have coolers in the back somewhere where drinks were loaded. But, I paid my $4 for a warm, 20oz water.

To me THIS is the happiest place on earth. From memories of running around collecting cups after the game, to bringing my own daughter to a game w/her grandfather I can think of no better place to hang out w/85k of your closest friends. Even w/the Gamecocks struggle I still find not just a place to go watch a game. But a place to truly be happy.

Sound system could use some improvement, but this is the best stadium for the best team in the SEC. (Though I may be biased because I am an alumni!) Be sure to wear your sunscreen and grab a rally towel on your way in. Watch the student section to know how to properly Sandstorm and scream as loud as you can! Go Cocks!

Home of the best team in South Carolina who were undeafeated against SEC East opponents in 2011. The 11-2 Gamecocks ended the 2011 season ranked #8 in the country. Williams Brice was the sight of the 2010 upset of then ranked #1 Alabama. Clemson fans find this stadium almost as uncomfortable as the Orange bowl.

Williams Brice stadium is one of the finest venues for college football. Ive never had a bad time there. With the improvements around the stadium to make it family friendly and just plain fun, it really is hard to match.
