An excellent Hilton property. The front desk staff in particular is top notch. I have rarely seen such an efficient, conscientious, courteous group in a hotel- at any price point. You could easily mistake them for the front desk at a Waldorf-Astoria or Four Seasons. They are that good. One example in particular, we had the do not disturb tag on our door overnight, and I wanted to make sure they serviced the room while we were gone. When I asked at the front desk, I had not walked away 10 feet before they gentleman was on the radio confirming my request. Check in was a breeze and took maybe 90 seconds, tops. I had checked in and gotten our room assignments before my wife even had a chance to get out of the car! They offer full service, accommodations without being pretentious or snooty. You can park yourself and haul your own luggage, or treat yourself to a valet and bellman- your choice. The common areas are clean, luxurious, and well maintained. The rooms are large, modern, clean, and well appointed. Insulation is good so noise is minimal. Linens are soft and new looking. The TV is a large, newer flat screen, however channel selection and service could be improved. WiFi is reasonably fast and coverage is good. Login was quick and easy. Hot water was plentiful, and water pressure, even at peak times on the top floor was excellent. Room service was quick, and efficient. Our order arrived on time, hot and tasty, with appropriate accompaniments, packaged well. One small error was corrected almost immediately, and without hesitation. The pool area is smallish, and without a spa or sauna, but clean and well decorated. A call to the front desk for clean towels was handled within moments. A small cooler offers complementary cold bottled water, but there is no bar, or bar service within a reasonable distance. One small gripe- the water was cold, even on the last week of May. A heater would be a big plus. Overall this is, if not my most favorite Hilton property, then certainly top 3, though I would be hard pressed to name one better. It is clear that the management of this hotel runs a tight ship, and truly cares about the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.

This hotel is beautifully appointed and is in a prime location in Columbia, However, for price ($159.00 + taxes) I expect to get both a good night sleep and clean towels. My family and I checked into this Hilton on this past Sunday, 10-28-12. When we went to retire for the evening we turned on the heat (it is fall). First, there was a profuse odor which we smelled through out our room which came from the heating vents. After the heating unit was on for a while, it began singing and humming to us. This is the exact type of thing which we expect from a Hotel 6 not a Hilton. Especially one which have received such high accolades. I called the front desk to indicate that the room was not working out and there was a problem with the heating unit. The young lady indicated that maintenance staff had went home ; so, she offered to switch out our room. After having our room switched from 626 to 636 the staff member asked me to turn on the heating unit to see if it also was probematic. There were no obvious signs out side of the odor we experience with turning the heat unit on. After moving my family down the hall at 12:00 am, this unit began singing and humming as well. My husband told me that there was no way he was going to move again. Needless to say, my sleep was restless and broken due to their heating unit malfuction. This morning, when I went to shower I unfolded a nice neat soiled towel. Having stayed in many Hilton hotels this is obviously not what I come to expect from a HILTON. It is not just about the surface level stuff-Hilton. It behooves you to get the details right as well. Like, having you staff check the towels before putting them in a patrons room and having your infrastructure working where it doesnt interefere with your customers experience.

Hilton is in a great location. Dont make the mistake we did by eating prior to arrival with restaurants right across the street and a Ruth Chris in house. If there was valet for the hotel its not 24 hour. We walked into the well staffed lobby to welcoming faces. We asked for a higher floor, and it was granted. Coming from DC we normally stay in boutique style hotels for personalized service and unique amenities. I am no stranger to paying $300 a night for a hotel room, so the $100 price tag for a queen room on a high floor in a 3/4 star hotel was a relief. The room is DC level 3 star at best. The room has no USB outlets and no iPhone or iHome dock. There is no frills but it is a clean room. The bathroom is a real door (yay!) a tub, very small sq feet, but good counter space. There is also a vanity mirror. The parking is an attached covered garage, you do drive around the block but if you park on the second floor you get direct access to hotel lobby. In the morning we hoped for DC style brunch buffets but there were none to be found. Ruths Chris option was less than appetizing. We went with Eggs Up Grill (separate review). Overall great experience for good price.

Ive stayed here numerous times over the past three years and didnt have a seriously poor experience. One time the hotel concierge was supposed to hold my luggage over the weekend, but they accidentally loaded it into a van which transported it to Georgia on behalf of other hotel guests who didnt check for themselves whether the suitcase belonged to their entourage. The hotel mgr did well to make up for that slip-up. The rooms are well furnished to the Hilton standard. Not noisy. Breakfast is good and bountiful, wide variety for many different tastes and preferences. Its a Ruths Chris Steakhouse at dinnertime. Reception staff are top-notch young people who care. Valet service is so-so and inattentive at times. Conference facilities are okay, but probably the best on offer in this small city. The parking garage is a positive because its easy to access and maneuver as a hotel guest which allows me to avoid hotel valet services. Walking distance of many downtown restaurants, some of them good quality. If this place were ever unable to accommodate, Id try my luck at the Hampton 200 feet away; that happened once, but I much prefer this hotel to the Hampton.

I had one weekend to see my husband before he deploys to Afghanistan so we chose this hotel for all of the good reviews. We could not check into the room until 4p.m. and that seemed to be fine with us, once we got there the room was still not ready and we had to wait an hour longer only after my husband went up to complain to the staff did we even get our room. We had dinner reservations and still needed to get ready but they seemed not to care. I believe if you give a check in time then you need to be ready at that time. The service was horrible! When we get into our room it appears to be to clean, because they said thats what took so long, and there is cobwebs all along the crown molding and lots of dust, broken glass under the sink. Normally I would not care but this was our last weekend together they had acted like this room was clean beyond clean. I say that if you have to visit your love one before he/she has to deploy make sure that you do not make reservations there you may never get in to spend the last night with your loved one.
